After seeing your video, it made complete sense once I visualised the ‘U’ shape first. I will never forget how to do it now because of your super simple method. You made this so easy I did it on my first try! Finally someone smart enough to think like a first timer and break down the steps slowly and descriptive enough so even the most spatially challenged could understand. Thank you for not making me feel like an idiot!
Thank you for this public service. I went through half a dozen videos that all were “do a, then b, then c, turn it over and you’ve got a perfectly folded sheet” but without any explanation of the logic of it and we’re impossible to follow/replicate. This was so helpful!

I don’t know how many videos I watched before I found yours. At one point I ended up tangled in a straight jacket. Yours made perfect sense and I folded the sheet properly on the first attempt. Well done!
Sheer congratulations. Very bright. Great way of thinking: 1 Start from the end, and go backwards, 2. Show crucial intermediate steps (u shape). 1. and 2. may be very useful to explain how to do many other things, not only how to fold fitted sheet, almost everything actually. This is revolutionary.

Brilliant! My Grandmother tried to teach me, 50+ yrs ago. My mother tried forty years ago, as I was leaving the nest. Since then, I just kind of fold them in half a couple of times and stuff them in my linen closet. Retired now, so I have the time to learn. TH-cam has too many videos on folding fitted sheets. This way is so much easier then the other two ways I was shown. One I got lost so that didn't help me the other i could do bug I kept forgetting how to do it when it was time to fold my fitted sheet. This way I won't forget. Thank you mates guy for the easiest way to fold fitted sheets yet.

Oh thank goodness!! This has bugged me for years 😫. All the videos I’ve watched tucked all 4 corners together and all I achieved was a lumpy mess. Not a major issue in the scheme of things I know but if there’s a tidy way to do something I damn well want to do it. Thanks James.

The problem with the other videos is that you have people who know how to do it and they have forgotten what it’s like to not be able to do it. So they talk you through a couple of steps and assume that they’re actually explaining everything because they understand what they are doing, meanwhile, some things are left incomprehensible to those who don't understand the process. As an educator, you have bypassed this blunder. I also know to avoid that mistake because I have taught people guitar and have learned to put myself in the mindset of someone who doesn’t know what I know. Yours is the best tutorial on how to fold a fitted sheet that I'm aware of.

Hey old timer. After watching numerous videos I FINALLY folded a fitted sheet reasonably well. Didn’t end up in a ball .. I laid the sheet onto a bed then used the horseshoe method.. Video was 1min 20 sec. skip this math nerd and search out that method .. and I’m 65 !!

I wanted to surprise my wife by folding all the sheets as I know she's given up following videos and hates it, was utterly shocked that there were so many videos that all went into the same confusing mess after "fold this corner over that"... I even watched them at half speed and still couldn't work out what they were doing as they said descriptively "now that there and that there and stuff it up there" - what?!
I actually started to lose hope until I found this video, then nailed it first time and feel like I get it now, honestly thank you so much! I was starting to feel there was some kind of magic circle nonesense going on for laundry where once you know you never teach others, just descend into mumbling and do it with slight of hand to make them think you told them and they were too dumb to get it

Further to finding that U-shape... I was so excited about this process finally making some sense that before I'd even tried it for the first time, I showed it to my genius 16yo son. He said that it's like you're starting with a sheet already fitted on a mattress, undoing the top corners and folding them over the bottom corners of your mattress, but inside out.
It's kinda obvious when you put it like that...

I'm trying to picture that in my head and have almost got it.
I found it confusing actually. Is it maths or follow my nose? The fast speech was distracting as I tried to follow the physical explanation. It didn’t translate for me. No close ups to highlight the second lot of corners. For my brain it needs calm, precise and detailed steps to process.

The reverse engineering you showed on the flat surface of the table, the 3 x 3 x 2 folds you demonstrated and the elastic "U" shape made perfect sense. Your scholarly advice made something I have been struggling to understand through multiple other youtube instructors extremely easy. Ugh the other videos were so confusing and he hit the nail on the head as to EXACTLY where they all lost me. Seeing it go from being perfectly folded to slowly unfolded helped me understand and map out how it was supposed to go. The U-shape also helped a lot. Thanks a bunch, Math Guy.

Reverse engineering is indeed the best way to do it, it's just usually we've long forgotten how it came out of the package when we get around to putting it away again. First time I've actually been able to follow what is going on in a fitted sheet folding how-to--brilliantly done!

As an engineer, I always thought 'folding fitted sheets?? ...can't be done' just fold them up and toss'em in the drawer....today I had an epiphany: "there's got to be a better way....let's google this". Low and behold, someone I know ( The Great Courses ) is showing me how to do this. Had six of'em fresh out of the dryer...and whad'daya know? they're all neatly tucked in the drawer now.
