The Wave is always in a "multimode" . So the real magic comes with layering of the sounds . It seems on youtube there only a few demos that do justice to the waves sound. I wish I had a 32 voice version but I only have the little 16 voice version ;-)
Wow!!! Is that yours, or on loan from some very kind synth head?! Sort of Germany's answer to the Japanese's Roland JD-800.... and what an answer this synth is. Would love one of course!!! Danke for demo 😎👍🎹🎶🇬🇧🍻
@@gridsleep1002the sequencer was never implemented. It has a complex wave envelope which can be looped and of course times and levels modulated by other sources, but no sequencer. In the most recent OS, some bugs were fixed and the transport buttons can be programmed to send MIDI bytes to e.g. control your DAW or hardware sequencer.
@@gridsleep1002 true. They also dreamed bigger than their means to deliver. Still I love my Wave and its delicious warm rich analogue sound, “dated” as it may sound to some. It’s a sound design dream and I get lost in sound whenever I touch it. I’ve had it over a decade and still can’t imagine selling it, even with the ridiculous prices being asked today.
Long ago I had a 2.3 + Waveterm. Sold it. Than I bought a Wave. Returned it to Waldorf and got a refund because of major problems. I have an XTK 30 voice. Will never sell it.
Oh, the Wave had a lot of software problems. Thanks to Werner Schönenberger many problems were fixed. The xtk 30 voices is a very sought after and rare synth. I played one at a friends studio and was impressed very much.
All the classic Waldorfs-Wave, Q, & XTK, although digital, seem to have a stronger sonic character than some modern analog polys.
The early wavetables were programmed by hand by W. Palm to sound as good, organic and lively as possible.
What a gorgeous instrument. The ultimate covetable synthesizer. Thank you for letting us hear the sounds!
Come over to me and make a great tutorial video of it.
I have 2 of these synths!
Sounds so awesome, love my xt. Wavetable synths r brilliant, such a unique and incredible sound ❤ my fave sounds for sure

No doubt the most bodacious beautiful synth of all time.

The big one is mine. The small one which I played I had only temporary. The big one is in repair. As soon it’s fixed I make another video.
synthlegends Amazing, you have the flagship version.... yeah, the repairs ..... 😬💶🇪🇺. Anyway still well jealous 🙃🤟.
Great demo! I would love to play one of these some time. :)
Thank you, Sean. In us they are very rare. If you are once in Germany, come visit me
Unbelievable ! Missing the Wave in my Studio ❤
Man what the heck?! Mindblowing sounds
è uno strumento potentissimo e inarrivabile. Stupendo.
I remember this monster in the store that times. Touching was not allowed.
"tell me the price. Please be gentle...."
Great!
Would love to hear you demo the Wave!
This thing is huge. It looks like it should be a workstation, but it's all synth I take it?
@gridsleep 🤣🇬🇧
