Big thanks to John B. at Twin Mountain Off Road Adventure in West Virginia for providing the massive hardware and shotgun to try and crush these mags! You can learn more about Twin Mountain Off Road Adventure park here: / twinmountainoffroadadv...
Amend2 polymer magazines are some of the toughest and most reliable on the market. From a military LMTV, dropping from ridiculous heights, and even blasting the magazines with a shotgun, I wanted to see just how much abuse they could take.
Amend2 magazines are 100% made in the USA and are incredibly reliable. They are also extremely durable, thanks to their high-strength polymer design. My only real complaint about the AR magazines is the lack of speed loader grooves. Other than that, they are great magazines, overall!

Thank you!
Bought 10 in Nov. Loaded 4 of them put in range bag finally went shooting the other day, and found loose rounds in bag the feed lips have spread want even fit in mag well.
Great editing, great video. Why you don't have more views I don't know...
It all comes down to what TH-cam decides to share. I have to rely on the community to share by word of mouth to the point that TH-cam starts pushing the videos too. Black rifles matter. :)
2a mags are junk cannot keep them loaded
The lips spread out to the point they won't insert into the mag well.
Steel water fowl or turkey loads might be better for shotgun tests in the future. It's similar to shrapnel from small explosive antipersonnel munitions at survivable distances. Just watch out for ricochets with steel shot, that should probably be done against sand or something.
Another suggestion is fully loading the mags, locking them in a rifle with the chamber empty, and impacting the mag from various angles to simulate hooking it on a doorway while moving fast or snagging it on a part of a vehicle. I've seen some mags that seemed great have the floor plate pop right off like that or the mag body get bent in aluminum or distorted in plastic so badly that the follower bound up. I'm sure that's something that would really interest law enforcement and military personnel.
No one but professionals should attempt any of those tests though. Most people would probably hurt themselves trying to do that.
And I appreciate that you used a real truck to run over the mag, not some toy Silverado, Ram, or F-150/250. That's pretty close to what a military convoy would be using or armoured car a SWAT team might be training with. You deserve more views.
Thanks for the suggestions! I like the idea of banging loaded mags around to see how they do. I'll be testing out more mags in the future for sure, so I'll definitely make sure to include that test.
TH-cam hates what I do, so it's up to the viewers to spread the word. It's taken me three years to reach 3000 subs...
Had bad luck with Amend2 magazines. Won't run them for serious use.
The biggest complain I hear is that the feed lips start opening up if you keep the loaded over time. Is that the issues you've had as well or something else?
@@TheWarriorSolution Sadly that is a common issue but is easily fixed with a blow dryer and weight, I'm guessing though this problem has been fixed with Amend2s mod 3 magazines which are built using a far stronger material.
DON'T BUY i have two of them i bought to try and brand new you can load them up, leave them for a bit and the feed lips separate. then they are stiffer going in the mag well. The two i have will unload themselves just sitting on a shelf or in my go bag. if you leave them loaded for 30 minutes. I did contact amend 2 and they'll warranty replace them but i have to pay for shipping to return them.. the shipping is almost as high as the mags themselves so it would be like buying two more if i paid to ship them back.. I need to post a video of the two i have so others can see how horrible they are. i have pmags and aluminum mags they hold up well, but i'm going to start running all aluminum mags, simply because they worked for the military for many many years with no problems. If the springs get weak you can take them apart and stretch the springs, put it back together and they are good as new. no problems with aluminum mags or pmags. I just prefer the aluminum mags these days. They have proven themselves for many years as the military standard. got a few used aluminum mags from a friend who brought them back from vietnam and they still work like new.
Did you go around and spam this comment on every video?
Yep. Haters gonna hate.
The weirdo sure did go around. Smh👎🖕🤡🤯
Been doing reasearch on these mags as they are very reasonably priced vs. other polymer mags. There seems to be an issue with the feed lips opening up due to ambient heat and spring pressure. Some say you can fix them just putting them out in the sun unloaded. Can any of you confirm this?
I've heard similar stories about the feed lips and leaving the mags loaded too long. I can't confirm if leaving them in the sun would fix it or not though.
Great. I've got about 21 2A 30 round magazines. Thank goodness I also have 21+ PMags and 21+ steel mags. For my AR-7.62x39, I buy stainless steel 28 and 30 round magazines only. Stock up on magazines. Keep Prepping my friends.
Nice test
Would love to see the same shooting test with a crappy steel mag and a MagPul.
Me too. Should have thought of that at the time. hahaha
The ar 15 magazines that I have seen have the stripper clips grooves are Pmags gen 1,2,and 3, Lancer L5 awm, Okay industries aluminum 1st gen and E2 series, Hexmag series 2, Thril Pmx, Troy battlemags, Wilson combat, 32 round strikemag from Strike Industries, Ets non coupled and coupled, Hera H3T gen 2, Mft mod 2, extreme duty mags windowed and non windowed, Leapers Utg windowed and non windowed, E-lander steel mags anyone else list any other mags I missed with that feature. I have to agree Amend2 mod 2 is the only mag I seen that doesn't have the stripper clip grooves.
Good and helpful info, really enjoyed, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mossberg 870?????
I once had a lowside while riding and a car rolled over my forearm. Didn't break anything. Driving over things with big soft rubber tires is meaningless.
I'll take it, all it takes is a dent to get a gi mag to stop working.
There must be some Magpul employees in your comments bro because holy 💩 are they hating on these mags. I’ve never had any issues with mine. Just because something gets approved for use in combat doesn’t mean it’s the best look at under armor shirts they got banned after they were approved for use. Any ways good vid.
Haters gonna hate. I have my own issues with them, which I talked about in the video, but I personally haven't experienced any of the other issues people have mentioned.
Any polymer mag including pmag lancer etc will fail on a shooting test...
