Thank you for the tips & info. I have all of these pressing items and I love them all. Now I need to go back and search for your tutorials that I missed. 😊
I've been waiting for a new video from you. I love your tips and products you use. I will be quilting with my home machine and would love to be able to do a queen sized quilt, but I know it will most likely be a quilt as you go. Plus I have to make a king size quilt for my daughter and son in law. I will be watching from the beginning about the quilt as you go series. Thank you very much. 😊
Thanks, Nancy, love all your videos!! Would love a wool pressing mat but probably the only one I could afford would be about the size of a coaster, living in Ireland postage puts these things out of my price range :-) But hey ho I'll soldier on with the old ironing board!!!
elizabeth mullhall : Not to take anything away from Nancy, but here is an idea ... check out your local agriculture/animal/equestrian supply store for wool saddle pads. I have seen a lot of comments on other sewing vlogs/blogs that folks are looking at that resource for more affordable wool mats. Just be sure to get 100% wool; and don't be surprised if they look a little more coarse and may also have more sheep odor. I'm sure the ones made especially for home sewing are made of fibers that have been more finely graded and cleaned.
Hi Roseanne - I know that you can order it from Smith-Owen Sewing center - that is where i got mine - www.smith-owensewing.com - contact Tim :) smitho@iserv.net 616-361-5484
I got a wool pressing mat for Christmas. I only noticed an odor when I used it the first time. It was not a bad odor, but it did go away with time and use. I love my mat.
The wool pressing mat - does it have a certain temperature that the iron has to be? I bought a 3-piece set and I have to put on medium temperature (wool setting). I am having seconds thought about my purchase.
Yeah, that does not surprise me. I would not recommend that sometimes I have to do it as an emergency if I’m doing a recording and I put an extra mat under my wall Matt so that it’s not on my cutting map and I only presser a very, very short time. Sorry this happened.😞
Hi Nancy, What brand and size is your Wool mat. I have been looking to get large one and smaller one for travel. Matilda’s Own make one 20”x40” Australian made for $99AU and larger one 60”x20” for $149Au from OZ Quilts in Australia. It’s a lighter colour than most but cheaper for you with our dollar rates. Also if you are interested, there is an Alpacca make one from a farm in USA that Bonnie hunter uses. I was keen to get one of these, as it supports the grower. You can get the size you want as they make it. alpacainsoles.com/shop?olsPage=products%2Fpaca-pressing-mat. As the ones at Amazon are good NZ Wool but made in China. I do love Best Press but pricey for us here. And. Thankyou for the actual info on the Osilo Iron Temp Wattage and Hole size for Steam. I have not set up my ironing station and cutting area yet but will review the layout. Planning on a ikea height adjustable cutting table and perhaps removable iron station from that. It’s my spare bedroom so limited room. Thankyou and sorry for long story. Can you do a video of how you put your quilt sandwich together please. I have been using 505 spray but not convinced it’s enough. ?
Hi - i'm not sure the brand, i purchased it at a show. I know that Mountian mist has one now, all sizes but the 17x24 is like $85.00 US dollars also. I do have a video on how a baste, and i always use 505 AND pins - check it out. th-cam.com/video/uytPy9h_JsQ/w-d-xo.html
Best Press is the best

Yes, I am in awe over that iron for some time, and the mat I’ve looked at it a few times $$$$$ for sure 👍❤️😊
I am very thankful for your tips. They are all very good, indeed! Time to save for the iron and the mat!

Karen Presley your very welcome 😀
I have enjoyed these videos very much. Thank you for doing these.

@@hollywaddell6727 Thank you so much Holly for your reply - it's certainly worth checking out. Best wishes from Dublin 😊
I have made a big board, where did you find such a large wool mat?
Hi Roseanne - I know that you can order it from Smith-Owen Sewing center - that is where i got mine - www.smith-owensewing.com - contact Tim :) smitho@iserv.net 616-361-5484
I've missed you. Glad the new year started up!
Always enjoy your tips. Thanks. Will start saving my money but had heard it has a pretty bad odor? (Might be a deal breaker for squeezie stomach me. )
Hi Kay, I only notice an order when i leave my iron down too long, other than that I have not.

I recently purchased an osilo iron after watching your videos (and a few others). It may be a little pricey but well worth it.

Hi Martlinda, my iron is always set at the highest temp and live the mat - so go hotter? 😀
I use my wool pressing mat with my iron set at cotton and have never had a problem.
@@QuiltingWithNancy Thanks for response. I will put it on higher setting and hope it does not do anything to mats.
@@theartfulcanvas9792 Thanks! I will set my iron to cotton/linen and hope nothing happens to mats.
I love my Oliso iron! I would love to find out how to clean the inside of the water tank, I have calcium buildup so I can't use the steam.
I think that white vinegar works? i have city water so i don't have that issue.
I pressed over my cutting mat with the wool mat and it distorted my cutting mat
