    The brush should be dipped in cold water before use to melt the glue on the tip.After the brush is used, it should also be washed with cold water.After cleaning, the brush should be hung on the penholder to let it dry.Calligraphy is an important part of Chinese culture.I am very happy to share this art with you.

    All of the ambient sound from outside like the rain and the passing train are the most calming sounds. I'm very glad you do not edit those things out.
    A great video yet again.

    I hope you indeed decide to do more Chinese calligraphy because your characters (judging from the March video) look way better than the usual beginners'. You already have a feel for balancing the various elements in a character. Imagine what you can do, armed with all the tools of this art form!
    For those interested, below are two web pages that could help a person get started. How each stroke is made contributes to the rhythm/flow of your calligraphy so it’s totally worth learning. Watching a brush in action is best but the diagrams at
    blog.tutorming.com/mandarin-chinese-learning-tips/7-basic-rules-to-chinese-stroke-order are also helpful.
    Then there's getting the stroke order right which can be daunting but it's important to the composition of the characters since each stroke is made in relation to the previous one(s). You can follow the animation at
    www.chineseconverter.com/en/convert/chinese-stroke-order-tool (try the slow speed!). This shows the path your brush should take on the paper while making the brush strokes.
    Man, I hope this makes sense…looking forward to more ASMR from you!

    I have gotten ASMR as far back as I remember. It started during the days of Bob Ross when I recognized it. I now attribute it to my mild sleep apnea that makes my body malfunction and send chills and shivers. A sleep study showed that I snore some, have about 40-50 hypopneas (shallow or slow breathing episodes or airway closures due to obstructive sleep apnea) per night and about 100 breathing events of shallow or slow breathing per night. It feels like I ran a marathon in the morning. A warning to anyone out there who feels something similar...get yourself checked.

    and also the brushes have a sort of glue on them when new you should get them wet to get rid of this before using them

  • @rileyschaefer9331
    @rileyschaefer9331 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So many tingles and love the pen holder!! Those brushes are beautiful and look similar to white cloud brushes. I would recommend in your free time to just let them sit in room temp. Water because many manufacturers glue the bristles together for shipping but after they soak and wash, they will be very nice and free flowing! Your stroke order has improved very much! And practice stroke order with numbers is a great way to practice order because it has the basic rules! Just one little thing to remember, 5 is 五 the pinyin is wǔ just Incase you wanted to look it up. Keep doing what your doing!! Love it!

  • @TheForeverBean

    I'm no expert but I believe you're meant to dip the brush in water to get the glue out of the bristles. That way the brush can flow more freely.

    Hey, I checked out a library book today called “Janesville, an American Story”, by Amy Goldstein. It was at my library here in NC of all places! It begins with a history of the city, including Parker Pens! 😊 it’s mostly about the GM plant shutting down and the effect it had there. My uncle ran the boilers there at the plant for more than 30 years and I can’t imagine how it affects him losing that career all of a sudden. Anyway, it’s a good read so far and I think you’d like it.

    • @RelaxingASMR
      @RelaxingASMR  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I'm familiar with the book and the author. That plant closing down really was a blow to that town. Did you get to the part where many of the auto workers car-pooled back and forth to an out of state plant just so their families could make it? My dad worked there.

    Love your videos... but this time I think you definitely should of ran the brushes by your wife, the artist. She probably would of known to presoak the brushes to dissolve the glue holding the bristles together. Hopefully the brush didn't get ruined and you can use it again.
    PS, please don't cut or saw those Chinese brushes. They are designed and built that way(long, thick, ect) for a special purpose.
    There are tons of videos on TH-cam about them specifically, and using them for different purposes like, Calligraphy, drawing, standard writing, and so on.
