Residual haunting makes perfect sense. The electricity being grounded in the metal in the building is just enough to stir up the imprints of past activities in the plant. Beautifully done! I realize this is a late comment. I just became aware of your channel a couple of days ago and I've been playing catch-up. LOL.
I love residual energy. All places retain energy from life but places that have had lots of activity over the years would absorb the most. I lived in a home that was extremely haunted with both residual and spirits that could anywhere from just know your there to poltergeist activity. When we went to rent it my daughter and I looked at each other and said "do you feel as if it's welcoming you as well?" I had items move in multiple parts of the home. A woman would look at you from the shower, used to be part of the kitchen before they renovated it. A woman would walk down the stairs every night. 2 little girls would play with and move my daughters toys. A man walked into my living room and disappeared half way through. A man would stand by the window in my bedroom closet, closet was also added as part of the reno. The list goes on. Never once felt scared. All the spirits felt like they were nice ones, so to speak. It was by far my favorite place to live. The town we lived in was very haunted and was next to a place called cassadaga. It's the oldest active religious community in the southern United States. Also very haunted. We shared a cemetery with them and had what they called the devils chair and apparently some pretty unique things happen there. Just dont go in after closing. The cops will arrest you. You could literally walk around town and have experiences with spirits though. Both residual and not. It was very cool.
I just saw this episode so I just realized you were using Ghostube correct and the alarm that went off at the iron columns supports in the factory sets that off everywhere it is not measuring electricity but the actual metal or iron itself . Amy and Jarrod from Amys Crypt explain it way better of coarse but look it up on her channel it doesn't mean its residual energy it was measuring for the iron material itself. I live your shows you are great and refreshing to watch people who do not assume EVERYTHING is paranormal. I love ur show keep it up.

Yeah the reading it's taking is through what's called a magnetometer to be able to figure out the phone's orientation using the earth's magnetic field. Great call not many people know that 👍

I wonder, the power might not be truly isolated to that place- high voltage power lines which are not actually bonded to earth and made dead can still have induced voltage on them which can be significant. Or they may not be isolated at all (watch yourselves! Factory bussbars will kill you instantly). Even the earth of an industrial building will have induced voltage and noise from the national grid on it, not to mention large metallic structures and old cables are excellent aerials for radio signals- your meters could be picking up any or all of these. So if the whole building is a sort of giant radio/wireless power receiver- this fits with both the paranormal theory that energy is needed to trigger spooky goings on, and also the sceptical theory that emf fields can influence our moods or even cause hallucinations 🙂 one for Ciaran O’Keefe? Yeah they call it a magnet meter or something, we didn’t realise at the time if doesn’t record emf but we still had a vague idea what was causing it 😁
