Makes more sense getting the colour version as its hardly dearer at all. Something like I had seen only $20 dearer then the BW version. Colour adds life
@@dennisrogers6786 I don't read comics so color is of no use to me. I will only be reading black and white text and I've seen that the Clara BW has higher contrast : words are sharper. But of course it's nice to have options.
@@TeeryvelizCurbelo Oh, I would love to see them side to side in person 😔 I've been watching review videos and browsing the Kobo subreddit for a few months now...I really need to see the difference for myself.
I've been interested in eink since i got the kobo touch, colour is just so cool to me. not replacing my aura h2o e2 though since I don't really read comics.
this is the exact type of video I was looking for, thank you for being so thorough in showing the screen in different lighting and all the functions! all of the reasons you gave for getting a kobo over a kindle are exactly how I feel too you really sold me on the kobo!! thank youuuu :)
I love my Kobo BW so much I got it with a discount for €70 and is so worth it. The brightness and tone adjusting is just so good my eyes never get tired
i was legit saying earlier today about how i wanted an e-reader to read a series i really wanted to since it's not available as a hardback. i'm probably gonna check it out now lol
Nice unboxing! Considering buying one. How good it is for pdf books? Are the margins small? Or the text to small for this size? I can’t find any infos about that and all my books are pdf. Thanks!
Huge thanks for the video! It has been really useful since I was just thinking of buying an e-reader for the first-time and I came across your video, this seems like the best option. How long does the battery last approximately? Thanks!
i’m glad it was helpful! the battery lasts around 3-4 weeks for me. I typically leave my kobo on sleep when i’m not using it and the wifi is turned off for the most parts.
I'm interested in getting this model. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the size of the screen. Do you find it too small when reading now that you've used it for a month?
Not at all! I was initially worried about the size too, but I quickly got used to it. Since we can adjust the font size, I made mine a little bigger and find it very comfortable for reading! The device size is also just right for handheld reading.
I believe they are only available for books in kepub (kobo e-pub) format, so books bought directly from the Kobo store will already be in that format and have it, while sideloaded books need to be converted to kepub to see it.
You made a smart choice. I’ve had the KLC for about a few weeks and the battery life wasn’t that good for me (I used the stylus a lot for notebook features and writing in the ebook and brightness) I decided to not use the stylus to conserve battery (with also turning WiFi down) and then lower the brightness but it is true that the screen is darker, although this did help with battery life. With some font adjustments it is legible but the darkness was becoming noticeable for me, maybe from watching comparison videos? Reading with my children in short time frames is great 😊 but in my experience, not for how I want to use it, longer reading sessions. Soooo, I am now getting the Kobo Clara BW. And keeping the KLC to read with my kids 😊
@@sheamei oh- you don’t even need a computer??? I have a super old Nook that they just cut support off for. Should I be able to still download library books onto it?
hi! the case i'm using is actually for the clara 2e so it doesn't fit well (it's snug and a little small for the BW) so I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately. i'm still waiting for a proper clear case to be released for the BW
Finally a video about the BW version, everyone is talking about the Clara and Libra color 😭

Hii, when you finish a book does it show how long you took?
What other stats it shows?
Thanksss
yes! it shows how many hours you spent, average minutes per reading session, and average pages you read per minute for every book.

i will recieve this kobo this afternoon am rlly impatient
hope you like your new e-reader!
Can I download books from websites or browsers? Or is it just limited to the kobo store?. Also will the kobo clara color give me eye strain
Out of curiosity, how did you enable the detailed reading stats in-book? I have the new Libra Color and I can't see that. 🙂

My favorite feature is the library integration! But my library switched to Libby from Overdrive. Does the integration still work on the Kobo devices?
It should work! I borrow books from the Libby app on my phone and it syncs to my Kobo device without any issue.
