How is it brilliant - it doesn't even work! Tea doesn't infinitely get stronger! And after nearly 50 years, it is now simply getting cold!

Except it isn't! Tea doesn't keep getting stronger! It gets maxed out - after that (which was 20 years ago in case of europe) it just gets colder and unpleasant!

But it fails to conclude the analogy correctly! If he actually was a genius, he would realise tea cannot keep getting stronger forever, and after a time the teabags are a hindrance! No he isn't! Brexit allowed ALL non UK citizens to have equal access. EU imprisonment meant EU citizens got better access. IN ADDITION: you're being asked whether you want the bag left in or not, when you don't actually know how strong the cup of tea currently is. You have to make a snap decision that will impact your quality of life immediate future with no actionable information - and if you panic and say "take it out" you're suddenly stuck with a weak cup of tea that you didn't even want.
