I'm sick of the "it's for kids" excuse. I saw this with my niece and she looked at me and said "But they were laughing at the book too! Shouldn't they get in trouble too? Why are they only mad at Squidward?" and she's SIX! So yes, the "its for kids" excuse is totally invalid.
Rumble Delta You have a couple comments about your niece being super smart like it's unbelievable. When I was four, my mom visited a neighbor and 4y/o me tried to play with their 4 y/o son. He cut my hand with scissors. To this day I barely remember the cut; THEY DIDN'T PUNISH HIM. He did something wrong and got away with it; it wasn't fair. Kids care more about things being fair than adults do. I believe you and think your niece is a perfectly normal child on the right track.

I realised something, Plankton is the most likable character now. Mrs.Puff tried to murder someone, this episode is why Squidward is unlikable, Mr.Krabs drove someone to suicide, Patrick hurts and is rude to people for no reason, Sandy is JUST smart and thats her entire character, the townsfolk are just horrible, and Spongebob does the same as Patrick, but even worse.
well, considering that the only, and I do mean only, thing Plankton really does at all in modern spongebob is try to steal a formula for food (literally, there's only like 2 or 3 episodes in modern spongebob that have him do something different), there really isn't much he can do to become unlikeable, unless you're just bored of his character by now

I look at an episode like this and I can't even see a glimmer of the show I once loved. None of the characters are anything but one note and dull. SB's voice has been pitched up and given a tone that makes every word annoy me. Heck, even Squid's voice seems higher. I agree, Patrick has crossed a line and is actively malicious. SB just comes off as a strange alien here who has no motivation for any of his actions or reason for his quirks and mood swings. The entire thing feels like the characters are just going through the motions. Great review Mr. Enter, I find your theory on SpongeBob to be very fascinating.
Although this episode IS terrible, you have to admire Gary in this! Even though he eats Squidward's property and probably other mischief, you have to realize he's still a pet. The important thing is he saw Squidward insulting, cussing out his master, and like a good pet or family member seeing someone talk bad about them, he defended him! Spongebob now may not be a great person to defend, but it shows a moment of Gary being loyal and caring for his owner.
How this episode could have worked: 1. Remove Patrick from the episode entirely. He was completely unnecessary in this plot. 2. Have Spongebob give him his comeuppance, with it not being unintentional. I'd love to see Spongebob actually go off on Squidward again. They shouldn't be hyperbolic with it. 3. Make Spongebob more suspicious of Squidward reading his diary. 4. Have the towns people get comeuppance as well from Spongebob. 5. Have Squidward learn his lesson after his wrong doing. 6. Don't make the diary imply that something is wrong with Spongebob.

The only saving grace this episode has is that Mr. Krabs isn't an asshole. He is absent when all the customers are laughing at SpongeBob, meaning that, unlike them, he's not being hypocritical when he berates Squidward.

If you commit a crime for money and never get convicted it's just called "good business". I knew a guy who worked at Cash & Carry (the American chain store, not just a generic cash and carry) in management and he got some large bonuses for knowingly committing felonies. Dude once straight up broke into a vehicle to get some stuff from a driver after the drivers company refused to give it to him due to non payment while the trailer was in a lot with no security cameras, then claimed they never received the shipment and that's why they never paid, even though the (non perishable) shipment left weeks after the payment was due. They sent the shipment out because they'd received a payment, sent the load out without double checking it, and then before it arrived they found out the payment (for multiple deliveries) was about $100k light.

robert hebert Well many writers, including the series creator left the project after the movie. They felt content with what the series had became and wanted to move on to something else. Not to mention they wanted to stop before the series jumped the shark. Unfortunately, Nickelodeon didn't have anything to replace such an economically boosting series, so they hired a bunch of new writers, who have written ever since.

Probably one of the few good parts of this episode. If I were to write the episode, I would have it be that the the towns people tell Squidward to stop reading SpongeBob's diary and Patrick tells Squidward that he is being a jerk and Squidward says "Shut up pinhead, your existence is worthless". At the end of the episode, SpongeBob doesn't forgive Squidward and he bites his nose and he begs for forgiveness and SpongeBob says "At least you didn't read my personal diary you idiot". And then Squidward grabs Spongebobs personal diary and Squidward reads everything out and turns out it was actually Squidward's personal diary and everyone mocks him and Squidward cries. This is the version where the townspeople are likable and not hypocrites and Squidward gets a decent punishment.
And Nickelodeon themselves loved how they acknowledged that one frame from this crap and used it in many of their new ads, social media posts, and what not.
@Hannah Papernick-Yudin I think it’s fine, but I do agree that an angry (coherent) rant is fun (and better) if the episode deserves it, like this one. People say that’s him taking it too seriously, but I think anyone with a brain can tell that it’s just a character and it’s not unironically how he acts in real life.
I can understand the different points of view concerning this episode, whether it is liked or hated. Personally, I lean more towards the hate because, while I do understand that most would say "SpongeBob deserved what he got" due to every Squidward Torture Porn up until that point, he didn't deserve to be tormented here as he didn't do anything wrong in this episode. If this was the first SpongeBob episode you saw, you wouldn't understand what Squidward had been through. I also really hate hypocrisy, and the fact that it was pretty blatant here really angered me. What's worse is that no one else got punished for what they did, which made the episode feel like Squidward was a martyr for the entire town (yeah, he READ the diary, but the townspeople KNEW whose diary it was and did NOTHING to stop him). As for Patrick? He lost all likeability a long time ago, so to see him treat his friend like the crap he was going to eat doesn't surprise me a bit... If this show can't improve during season 10, then it never will. Stephen Hillenberg needs a miracle to turn this wreck of a cartoon around...

I don't think spongebob deserved it this time mainly because everything he's done to squidward was unintentional. Squidward was actually trying to hurt spongebob which made it look bad. Every time spongebob did hurt squidward he never meant it. And if he was aware that he hurt him, he would apologize. They could've went the Fools in April route and made squidward feel guilty to the point of apology. But they didn't. They're basically teaching kids. You can hurt someones feelings and have zero regrets at all. Because kids don't know about squidward torture porns yet so they naturally see squidward as a bad guy. So I side with spongebob this time.

The townspeople may have been stupid hypocrites here, but I can think of another episode that shows them at one of their worsts: The Sponge Who Could Fly. They mock Spongebob for his dream and try to kill him because they didn't want to feel worthless for their unfulfilled dreams, they take advantage of Spongebob when he can fly and even worse, when Old Man Jenkins stopped Spongebob, the townspeople were more concerned about Spongebob's pants than Spongebob himself.
I always hated the townspeople in Spongebob. In the earlier episodes, they were a little nicer but now their just nasty and unpleasant to watch. I've never seen more horrible characters in a show, ever.

To be fair though (or at least if I was in Squidward's shoes) I'd probably react the same way too. I mean, at least at the end he isn't exactly telling everyone about Spongebob's secrets this time. He's keeping them to himself. Plus, Spongebob pretty much knows all of the ins and outs of Squidward's personal life and his darkest secrets, so I just see this as Squidward getting even with Spongebob. I still hate this episode though.. Not because of Squidward, but because of the townspeople. Squidward at the very least is understandable in his harsh actions. The townspeople are just plain cruel.
This reminds me of the Powerpuff Girls episode "Makes Zen to Me," where everyone basically tells Buttercup she's a bad person for beating up a villain too hard when we've actually seen all the girls do much, much worse. I hate hypocrisy so, so much. It ended up making me not watch Powerpuff Girls anymore because it showed up so often. And it's a shame because without that, it was actually a great show.
I have a secret crush, and the way she is, people would treat me exactly like how the townspeople treated spongebob after Squidward read his diary to them. She and I are very alike, yet due to this kind of treatment I know I'll get, I keep her as under wraps as possible, except to tell why you shouldn't mess with others personal secrets. You need to accept and deal with secrets people tell you and not bother them about it, or else you can actually make them regret a lot they shouldn't have regretted
Here’s how’d I write it: Squidward sees SpongeBob writing in a diary on his break and comments that he thinks it’s stupid. However, as the day goes on, Squidward gets curious on SpongeBob’s secrets, takes the diary when SpongeBob isn’t looking, and starts reading it. A customer asks him what he’s reading and Squidward shares it with him, passing him the book. The customer then shares it with another customer and so on until the whole restaurant has read it. Soon they begin making fun of SpongeBob based off what they read, and SpongeBob finds out Squidward read his diary and is angry with him for embarrassing him and breaking their trust. Squidward feels a little bad but tries to shrug it off, believing that everyone will forget about it. The next day everyone is still making fun of SpongeBob, and Squidward starts to feel guiltier about what he did. Eventually he stands up for SpongeBob and admits what he did was really horrible. Then Squidward adds “Besides, my secrets are way more embarrassing!” and pulls out his own diary and begins reading his own embarrassing secrets, so the townspeople begin making fun of him instead of SpongeBob. Squidward apologizes to SpongeBob for what he did and SpongeBob forgives him.
My God. They've actually done it. All the characters I used to love fell one by one. Mr. Krabs, Spongebob, Plankton, Sandy, even my favorite character Patrick didn't survive the stupidity and sadism of these writers. Squidward was the last one standing but now even he has been reduced to less than nothing. I should be pissed off but really I'm somewhat impressed. How did they manage to do it? They destroyed so many characters including the one who 90% of the time was an undeserving victim. My question now is this: How much worse could it get? I'm being honest here. How could they degrade this show any further than they have?
I don't know how, but I'm sure they'll pull it off. However, I have come across a good one: Plankton's Pet. That one was actually really sweet. Other than that, I have nothing but contempt for what this once glorious and entertaining show has been reduced to.
Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they actually killed him off except I bet Spongebob will find some way to prevent it so that Squidward can't even end his misery.
There are only two ways I can think of them possibly getting worse, either by offing a character, or by adding in a new character that is every bit as awful as, or even worse than, everyone else.
The outro theme just perfectly describes what it's like to just completely lose hope on someone you once had more faith, more respect and more trust in than anyone. I can imagine a single tear dropping down the cheek of Mr. Enter before he accepts what has become of his role model, walking away in somber solitude through a forest in the best interest of moving on, never looking back.
Speaking of puke, who's got Super Mario Odyssey? In case you don't know, a boss, the Cookatiel, was shown to attack by vomiting pink lava, and one of the Broodals, bunnies that both replace and kinda look like the Koopalings, Spewart, attacks by -puking- spewing out poisonous purple paint. Wow. Super Mario Odyssey is -kinda- really disturbing. A race of hat ghosts with genders and families, a Dark Souls dragon, and a heck of a lot of vomit.

If there's one thing I love about your videos, it's actually the comments section. Not because of crazy bickering, but because it's interesting to see people honestly share their own opinions on these episodes (as long as they aren't being pricks about it).
This episode is bad. The fact that the townspeople criticize Squidward makes him look like hypocrites. First of all, and they looked at the diary too, and yet they didn't get any punishment. So, that basically makes everyone in Bikini Bottom a bunch of hypocrites. A really bad episode and a complete waste of time!
Here's what I can do to make their anger more justified. Have them warn Squidward not to read SpongeBobs diary and they don't even laugh, and they don't even know who's diary it is. Also, Patrick says "Hey SpongeBob, how's Fifi" in a normal, friendly and non selfish way to make it like his lovable naive past self. And when SpongeBob cries, they realize that Squidward was reading the diary of an innocent child and they now have a justified reason to hate Squidward. When Patrick mocks Squidward for reading SpongeBob diary, Squidward says "Oh shut up you.......... I can't think of a good insult" and Patrick says "Oh, so you yell at other people for saying what's right".
How have the writers not taken the hint yet? Their episodes are terrible. They have made every character into an unlikable asshole, but even then, I still sympathize with Squidward after all of the unimaginable misery he's been through, that the sadistic writers expect us to laugh at. How dense or stubborn can people be? Hopefully, Hillenburg fires them all. That may sound harsh, but these episodes are some of the most infuriating, miserable piles of shit I've ever seen. Writers who make garbage like this and call it quality deserve to never get work again.

Casey doesn't like Atlantis Squarepantis, and pretty much everyone regretted One Coarse Meal, even Clancy Brown himself. It shows me that at least they're acknowledging their mistakes and are trying to improve (but, at the same time, aren't given the leeway due to Nickelodeon's high demand to keep their channel alive).

If someone asks for a Mr. Krabs Torture Porn, we get treated to Pat No Pay or Accidents Will Happen. Sandy, Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy. Mrs. Puff, pretty much any boating school episode. Karen, Karen 2.0. Plankton, One Coarse Meal. And lastly, if you ask for a Patrick Torture Porn, you get Porous Pockets. For the longest time, I believed Patrick was the writers' favorite. Spongebob legitimately scared me at multiple points during this episode. First, the part where spongebob thinks that squidward is nice to him. He thought that he was his friend. That is terrifying. Second, all of spongebob’s weird secrets. That speaks for itself. Third, the fact that spongebob did not care that squidward read it at the end.

I will never understand why anyone uses that stupid "it's for kids" excuse. Do people really think kids are stupid enough to not feel sympathy for a character or dumb enough to follow a plot? I mean my 8 year old cousin hates this episode and most of the other SpongeBob eps that Mr. Enter has reviewed (expected for Atlantis Squarepantis) so there's absolutely no reason for people to say that.

Man I was a fan of SpongeBob since day one. I loved every episode and loved the movie but never noticed the quality declined after the movie because I'm so blind for the love of the show. It took me a while to notice how badly written, perverted, and disgusting the episodes were. The last straw was One Coarse Meal and this episode because the loveable characters we all know and love acted out of character to the point of becoming unlikabe along with the show.
Things You Can Do in Bikini Bottom: Drive someone to attempt suicide, break into someone’s home repeatedly, abuse your pet, assault your neighbor, abuse your best friend’s pet, do reckless driving, steal from someone and get off scot free, etc. Things You CANT Do in Bikini Bottom: Read someone’s diary, drop a piece of gum, have your own tv show, plan your own party without inviting the police, etc.

That big unibrow fish KNEW Squidward was reading SpongeBob’s diary and instead of stopping him and giving him crap for it he tells him to keep reading, and yet when SpongeBob runs away crying he looks at Squidward all mad
I feel like instead of Squidward sharing with people SpongeBobs diary and making fun of it, Squidward should read some of the diary, have a good chuckle, then later on throughout the day read more of it, until there’s nothing left to read. Then Squidward gets nervous because he invaded SpongeBobs personal thoughts, causing him to get even more worried and have thoughts of SpongeBob crying because he had read his diary, causing Squidward to feel increasingly guilty in the episode, until finally Squidward cracks and confesses to SpongeBob that he read his diary. SpongeBob says it’s ok and that he forgives Squidward for it, saying that it was an honest mistake, then the two get back to work. At the end of the episode, Squidward is at home, about to go to bed, when he grabs his own diary and putting in an entry mentioning that he is glad to have such a good friend as SpongeBob, and the episode ends there.
Official information DOES say that Stephen Hillenberg helped pen the story of Spongebob Movie 2 with Paul Tibbitt. So to everyone who''s saying that Stephen being involved is a rumor...not so. I don't see Casey, Zeus, or Richard under any of those staff names, so there's already hope. The trailer did make me chuckle, and Spongebob's voice sounded almost EXACTLY like the old voice.

I came up with 3 theories as to why spongebob episodes suck now a days. 1. The people who work on spongebob are complete idiots and they release any episode they make. Whether its a terrible episode idea or not. 2. Nickelodeon is running out of ideas for spongebob episodes so they just think of anything that can be used for spongebob. 3. The writers of spongebob are purposelessly trying to make spongebob unwatchable and threaten nickelodeon to air their episodes. I'm going with theory 1

The worst part is, Fifi is apparently old prison slang for a fleshlight. This means either the creators called it that unknowingly, or they knew and called it that anyway, implying both that Spongebob has gone to prison before, and that he fucks his spatula. I guess the krabby patty secret formula really does call for 'love'. That, or it's the secret special sauce.

AqGamerNation the only reason i put it so low is becouse its on the lighter side of Scumbob and there are only 5 of them and most of the episodes are Meh exept for Jail Break, Evil Spatula, Safe Deposite Krabs and Planktons Pet i thought those where good but all the others are Meh in my opinion
I found it really disturbing it had a decent plot but I thought Kenny's physical appearance and voice was just creepy I know most people don't hate that episode as much as I do but I hate it
Lesson: If you aren't the first person to read something or do something, you can harass the first person to do it because you are innocent for committing a crime someone else did.
This episode is "The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well" with all of its flaws and none of its attempts to resolve things. Even in that episode it wasn't entirely impossible to feel sorry for Rainbow Dash, since we got to see just how hurt she really was. Here, Squidward, and everyone else, is a total a-hole. I guess the theory for the quality of the show from the writer's viewpoint is that after the movie Spongebob contracted a medical condition that made him unable to sense morality. It was passed on to everyone, except Squidward, who was somehow immune. But in this episode, Squidward finally contracted it.
I absolutely despise how they specifically made Squidward tell Spongebob that he had to forgive him. No apology on his end, just skips straight to Spongebob forgiving him so the town leaves him alone.

I look at an episode like this and I can't even see a glimmer of the show I once loved. None of the characters are anything but one note and dull. SB's voice has been pitched up and given a tone that makes every word annoy me. Heck, even Squid's voice seems higher. I agree, Patrick has crossed a line and is actively malicious. SB just comes off as a strange alien here who has no motivation for any of his actions or reason for his quirks and mood swings. The entire thing feels like the characters are just going through the motions.

Although this episode IS terrible, you have to admire Gary in this!
Even though he eats Squidward's property and probably other mischief, you have to realize he's still a pet. The important thing is he saw Squidward insulting, cussing out his master, and like a good pet or family member seeing someone talk bad about them, he defended him!
Spongebob now may not be a great person to defend, but it shows a moment of Gary being loyal and caring for his owner.

How this episode could have worked:
1. Remove Patrick from the episode entirely. He was completely unnecessary in this plot.
2. Have Spongebob give him his comeuppance, with it not being unintentional. I'd love to see Spongebob actually go off on Squidward again. They shouldn't be hyperbolic with it.
3. Make Spongebob more suspicious of Squidward reading his diary.
4. Have the towns people get comeuppance as well from Spongebob.
5. Have Squidward learn his lesson after his wrong doing.
6. Don't make the diary imply that something is wrong with Spongebob.

If you commit a crime for money and never get convicted it's just called "good business". I knew a guy who worked at Cash & Carry (the American chain store, not just a generic cash and carry) in management and he got some large bonuses for knowingly committing felonies. Dude once straight up broke into a vehicle to get some stuff from a driver after the drivers company refused to give it to him due to non payment while the trailer was in a lot with no security cameras, then claimed they never received the shipment and that's why they never paid, even though the (non perishable) shipment left weeks after the payment was due. They sent the shipment out because they'd received a payment, sent the load out without double checking it, and then before it arrived they found out the payment (for multiple deliveries) was about $100k light.
For example, kidnapping a bunch of jellyfish for his business.

Unfortunately, Nickelodeon didn't have anything to replace such an economically boosting series, so they hired a bunch of new writers, who have written ever since.

If I were to write the episode, I would have it be that the the towns people tell Squidward to stop reading SpongeBob's diary and Patrick tells Squidward that he is being a jerk and Squidward says "Shut up pinhead, your existence is worthless". At the end of the episode, SpongeBob doesn't forgive Squidward and he bites his nose and he begs for forgiveness and SpongeBob says "At least you didn't read my personal diary you idiot". And then Squidward grabs Spongebobs personal diary and Squidward reads everything out and turns out it was actually Squidward's personal diary and everyone mocks him and Squidward cries.
This is the version where the townspeople are likable and not hypocrites and Squidward gets a decent punishment.

@Hannah Papernick-Yudin I think it’s fine, but I do agree that an angry (coherent) rant is fun (and better) if the episode deserves it, like this one. People say that’s him taking it too seriously, but I think anyone with a brain can tell that it’s just a character and it’s not unironically how he acts in real life.
I can understand the different points of view concerning this episode, whether it is liked or hated.
Personally, I lean more towards the hate because, while I do understand that most would say "SpongeBob deserved what he got" due to every Squidward Torture Porn up until that point, he didn't deserve to be tormented here as he didn't do anything wrong in this episode. If this was the first SpongeBob episode you saw, you wouldn't understand what Squidward had been through.
I also really hate hypocrisy, and the fact that it was pretty blatant here really angered me. What's worse is that no one else got punished for what they did, which made the episode feel like Squidward was a martyr for the entire town (yeah, he READ the diary, but the townspeople KNEW whose diary it was and did NOTHING to stop him). As for Patrick? He lost all likeability a long time ago, so to see him treat his friend like the crap he was going to eat doesn't surprise me a bit...
If this show can't improve during season 10, then it never will. Stephen Hillenberg needs a miracle to turn this wreck of a cartoon around...

I don't think spongebob deserved it this time mainly because everything he's done to squidward was unintentional. Squidward was actually trying to hurt spongebob which made it look bad. Every time spongebob did hurt squidward he never meant it. And if he was aware that he hurt him, he would apologize. They could've went the Fools in April route and made squidward feel guilty to the point of apology. But they didn't. They're basically teaching kids. You can hurt someones feelings and have zero regrets at all. Because kids don't know about squidward torture porns yet so they naturally see squidward as a bad guy. So I side with spongebob this time.

The townspeople may have been stupid hypocrites here, but I can think of another episode that shows them at one of their worsts: The Sponge Who Could Fly.
They mock Spongebob for his dream and try to kill him because they didn't want to feel worthless for their unfulfilled dreams, they take advantage of Spongebob when he can fly and even worse, when Old Man Jenkins stopped Spongebob, the townspeople were more concerned about Spongebob's pants than Spongebob himself.
I always hated the townspeople in Spongebob. In the earlier episodes, they were a little nicer but now their just nasty and unpleasant to watch. I've never seen more horrible characters in a show, ever.

To be fair though (or at least if I was in Squidward's shoes) I'd probably react the same way too. I mean, at least at the end he isn't exactly telling everyone about Spongebob's secrets this time. He's keeping them to himself.
Plus, Spongebob pretty much knows all of the ins and outs of Squidward's personal life and his darkest secrets, so I just see this as Squidward getting even with Spongebob.

I have a secret crush, and the way she is, people would treat me exactly like how the townspeople treated spongebob after Squidward read his diary to them. She and I are very alike, yet due to this kind of treatment I know I'll get, I keep her as under wraps as possible, except to tell why you shouldn't mess with others personal secrets. You need to accept and deal with secrets people tell you and not bother them about it, or else you can actually make them regret a lot they shouldn't have regretted
Here’s how’d I write it:
Squidward sees SpongeBob writing in a diary on his break and comments that he thinks it’s stupid. However, as the day goes on, Squidward gets curious on SpongeBob’s secrets, takes the diary when SpongeBob isn’t looking, and starts reading it. A customer asks him what he’s reading and Squidward shares it with him, passing him the book. The customer then shares it with another customer and so on until the whole restaurant has read it. Soon they begin making fun of SpongeBob based off what they read, and SpongeBob finds out Squidward read his diary and is angry with him for embarrassing him and breaking their trust. Squidward feels a little bad but tries to shrug it off, believing that everyone will forget about it. The next day everyone is still making fun of SpongeBob, and Squidward starts to feel guiltier about what he did. Eventually he stands up for SpongeBob and admits what he did was really horrible. Then Squidward adds “Besides, my secrets are way more embarrassing!” and pulls out his own diary and begins reading his own embarrassing secrets, so the townspeople begin making fun of him instead of SpongeBob. Squidward apologizes to SpongeBob for what he did and SpongeBob forgives him.
That sounds perfect. But that's asking too much of these horrible writers.

My God. They've actually done it. All the characters I used to love fell one by one. Mr. Krabs, Spongebob, Plankton, Sandy, even my favorite character Patrick didn't survive the stupidity and sadism of these writers. Squidward was the last one standing but now even he has been reduced to less than nothing. I should be pissed off but really I'm somewhat impressed. How did they manage to do it? They destroyed so many characters including the one who 90% of the time was an undeserving victim. My question now is this: How much worse could it get? I'm being honest here. How could they degrade this show any further than they have?

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they actually killed him off except I bet Spongebob will find some way to prevent it so that Squidward can't even end his misery.
There are only two ways I can think of them possibly getting worse, either by offing a character, or by adding in a new character that is every bit as awful as, or even worse than, everyone else.

The outro theme just perfectly describes what it's like to just completely lose hope on someone you once had more faith, more respect and more trust in than anyone. I can imagine a single tear dropping down the cheek of Mr. Enter before he accepts what has become of his role model, walking away in somber solitude through a forest in the best interest of moving on, never looking back.

Speaking of puke, who's got Super Mario Odyssey? In case you don't know, a boss, the Cookatiel, was shown to attack by vomiting pink lava, and one of the Broodals, bunnies that both replace and kinda look like the Koopalings, Spewart, attacks by -puking- spewing out poisonous purple paint. Wow. Super Mario Odyssey is -kinda- really disturbing. A race of hat ghosts with genders and families, a Dark Souls dragon, and a heck of a lot of vomit.

This episode is bad. The fact that the townspeople criticize Squidward makes him look like hypocrites. First of all, and they looked at the diary too, and yet they didn't get any punishment. So, that basically makes everyone in Bikini Bottom a bunch of hypocrites. A really bad episode and a complete waste of time!

Here's what I can do to make their anger more justified. Have them warn Squidward not to read SpongeBobs diary and they don't even laugh, and they don't even know who's diary it is. Also, Patrick says "Hey SpongeBob, how's Fifi" in a normal, friendly and non selfish way to make it like his lovable naive past self. And when SpongeBob cries, they realize that Squidward was reading the diary of an innocent child and they now have a justified reason to hate Squidward. When Patrick mocks Squidward for reading SpongeBob diary, Squidward says "Oh shut up you.......... I can't think of a good insult" and Patrick says "Oh, so you yell at other people for saying what's right".

How have the writers not taken the hint yet? Their episodes are terrible. They have made every character into an unlikable asshole, but even then, I still sympathize with Squidward after all of the unimaginable misery he's been through, that the sadistic writers expect us to laugh at. How dense or stubborn can people be? Hopefully, Hillenburg fires them all. That may sound harsh, but these episodes are some of the most infuriating, miserable piles of shit I've ever seen. Writers who make garbage like this and call it quality deserve to never get work again.

Casey doesn't like Atlantis Squarepantis, and pretty much everyone regretted One Coarse Meal, even Clancy Brown himself. It shows me that at least they're acknowledging their mistakes and are trying to improve (but, at the same time, aren't given the leeway due to Nickelodeon's high demand to keep their channel alive).

Spongebob legitimately scared me at multiple points during this episode. First, the part where spongebob thinks that squidward is nice to him. He thought that he was his friend. That is terrifying. Second, all of spongebob’s weird secrets. That speaks for itself. Third, the fact that spongebob did not care that squidward read it at the end.

Man I was a fan of SpongeBob since day one. I loved every episode and loved the movie but never noticed the quality declined after the movie because I'm so blind for the love of the show. It took me a while to notice how badly written, perverted, and disgusting the episodes were. The last straw was One Coarse Meal and this episode because the loveable characters we all know and love acted out of character to the point of becoming unlikabe along with the show.

I feel like instead of Squidward sharing with people SpongeBobs diary and making fun of it, Squidward should read some of the diary, have a good chuckle, then later on throughout the day read more of it, until there’s nothing left to read. Then Squidward gets nervous because he invaded SpongeBobs personal thoughts, causing him to get even more worried and have thoughts of SpongeBob crying because he had read his diary, causing Squidward to feel increasingly guilty in the episode, until finally Squidward cracks and confesses to SpongeBob that he read his diary. SpongeBob says it’s ok and that he forgives Squidward for it, saying that it was an honest mistake, then the two get back to work. At the end of the episode, Squidward is at home, about to go to bed, when he grabs his own diary and putting in an entry mentioning that he is glad to have such a good friend as SpongeBob, and the episode ends there.
Official information DOES say that Stephen Hillenberg helped pen the story of Spongebob Movie 2 with Paul Tibbitt. So to everyone who''s saying that Stephen being involved is a rumor...not so. I don't see Casey, Zeus, or Richard under any of those staff names, so there's already hope. The trailer did make me chuckle, and Spongebob's voice sounded almost EXACTLY like the old voice.

I came up with 3 theories as to why spongebob episodes suck now a days.
1. The people who work on spongebob are complete idiots and they release any episode they make. Whether its a terrible episode idea or not.
2. Nickelodeon is running out of ideas for spongebob episodes so they just think of anything that can be used for spongebob.
3. The writers of spongebob are purposelessly trying to make spongebob unwatchable and threaten nickelodeon to air their episodes.

The worst part is, Fifi is apparently old prison slang for a fleshlight. This means either the creators called it that unknowingly, or they knew and called it that anyway, implying both that Spongebob has gone to prison before, and that he fucks his spatula. I guess the krabby patty secret formula really does call for 'love'. That, or it's the secret special sauce.

I found it really disturbing it had a decent plot but I thought Kenny's physical appearance and voice was just creepy I know most people don't hate that episode as much as I do but I hate it
Lesson:
If you aren't the first person to read something or do something, you can harass the first person to do it because you are innocent for committing a crime someone else did.
This episode is "The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well" with all of its flaws and none of its attempts to resolve things. Even in that episode it wasn't entirely impossible to feel sorry for Rainbow Dash, since we got to see just how hurt she really was. Here, Squidward, and everyone else, is a total a-hole.
I guess the theory for the quality of the show from the writer's viewpoint is that after the movie Spongebob contracted a medical condition that made him unable to sense morality. It was passed on to everyone, except Squidward, who was somehow immune. But in this episode, Squidward finally contracted it.
I absolutely despise how they specifically made Squidward tell Spongebob that he had to forgive him. No apology on his end, just skips straight to Spongebob forgiving him so the town leaves him alone.
Squidward has always been my favorite character. INTERNET DON'T KILL ME.
