On my lunch break right now...feeling a little defeated in life. 4 kids, amazing wife, renting out my parents garage, working a Landscape Construction job at 14$ per hour. Struggling to give my family that I love so much ; more space, bedrooms for our kids, really just a better quality of life. I Overcame a drug addiction (1 year 3 months clean) and now here I am trying to overcome a new struggle. This helps me alot atleast feel better. I have faith that we will make it. I have faith that everything will fall into place if I keep working hard. Thank you for this video.
CHOOSE purpose than dreams....dreams can lead to distractions and temptations...fighting for God purpose above everythings..Jesus loves us...God bless us
Yesterday i was reading,Genesis 32:22-32. 'Jacob wrestles at Peniel'.and today i came across this sermon . This is a sermon i have been hungering and seeking .the phases of life which God takes us into . So blessed to hear this sermon.
to be honest I was so shock at your teaching. i cant even imagine that God would talked to me this way....I am facing struggle in life to the point that everyday I ask God to help me but he doesnt answer me quickly.I am a Christian and I know Him but when you are under circumstances you will not feel him just to test you how you trust him...Ive learned many things in this message and this is exactly what I needed to hear..thanks be to God and the Lord Jesus Christ..
Thank you, Pastor Rick, it's a wonderful message and amazingly connected to how God blessed me. This is straight from God, confirming everything He promised me. All glory to God 🙏 😊
Hi brother Rick . I want to Thank you for the Wonderful sermon . I have been listening to you from Sweden for a year now and I have learned a lot from you and I am great full to you brother . I hope I will be able to come to your church in near future , right now is coronavirus and we are all stuck ! God is sovereign and by His grace everything is going to be fine . Love you brother Rick and Thank you So much . PS ; I read your book Purpose driven Life when I was in Japan . God Continue to bless you and your precious family , Your brother in Christ Jesus Ruben .
Pastor Rick, thank you for this teaching! It's so interesting that I just read the stories of Jacob last night from chapter 28 to 32, and I was so bewildered at his characters. Then today I stumbled on your teaching, you have answered my questions so well! Thank you.
Dear Pastor Rick, I just want to say BIG, BIG thank you for all your sermons that help me to grow in Faith all these years. What you've said in this sermon is so exactly what I am going thru at the moment, these stages are so so spot on as every single word in this sermon is exactly pointing at me. I thank God for His faithfulness and all the works that He has done thru you to help us grow. Even thought I am still in the midst of struggling with my financial challenge where my dream seems faint, but thank you for your sermon which lighten me up so much understanding toward my dream and I will continue to pray, seek His kingdom until His purpose and His will are done thru my life. Thank you Pastor Rick!
G,day Rick thank-you !! i have a long and difficult road ahead like so many thank god i have found some answers and some peace with your amazing inspirational sermons, i am going to watch every one which will take some time that is for sure! in fact this weekend i am having a double sabbath to rest my mind and watch as many sermons as i can,i am in a very dark place but i have hope now with your teachings. you are an amazing guy the church at saddle-back are truly blessed to have you in their place of worship. thank you down-under Australia
Thank you, Pastor Rick for this message. I'm always listening to your messages and I must say that these messages have really changed my life bringing me closer to God. I also want to send my condolences to You and Your Family at this time of grieve. And you know what, if you can be here to share GOD'S WORD with us, God is surely there with you and your family at this time. Blessings in the name of JESUS, Amen!!!
It was meant for me to hear this message, at this time, Pastor Rick. Thank you so much for Sharing it with us! Over the past month or so, I've been blessed to be led to some different resources that have literally changed my outlook on my life by changing the way I look at my life. It started with the unmitigated acknowledgement of how some of my own thinking has worked against me and what I want to accomplish and experience. You mention this directly in your message when you asked, "If you were to name your worst character flaw, what would it be?" Something else I already knew, but had to reinforce in my mind and my actions, is in the very title of your message: The Struggle Behind Every Dream. I believe it was Frederick Douglass who said, "Without struggle, there is no progress." This is so true! What can make this extremely difficult to accept and apply is that the struggle can take much, much longer than we expected ... even when we're working hard. The story you focus on of Jacob wrestling with the angel (God) until he blessed him is an invaluable lesson for us all. If Your Dream is that important to you, you will keep working at it, struggling with it, and persevere. With putting God first, you can Make It Happen!
Good word Pastor Rick! God definitely speaks through you and I enjoy watching you! 1 correction however, in minute 15 you reference Gen 32:25 where it says he couldn’t win, that verse is saying “the Man saw that he would not win.” It wasn’t Jacob who saw that he could not win. Jacob actually received a blessing through his persistent wrestle with “the Man”
Summary 1.Crisis Phase I struggle with God and others. 2.Commitment Phase God test my Faith,my sincerity. 3.Confession Phase I admit that i am my own biggest problem. 4.Conversion Phase God gives me a new identity and dream
😵 I have dreamt a thousand dreams, each of these dreams died a thousand death. And I sigh a deep sigh, bang my head on my desk, and dreamt another thousand dreams ... the struggle behind my dreams? Trying to keep them alive, and push through. I am even willing to die trying. I wonder why God bothers to give me these dreams if he is going to slam the doors in my face. I don't know what God wants me to become by giving me dreams and then killing them? Not all of these are selfish dreams. Some were meant to empower refugees and disenfranchised locals. I am forced to keep my dreams simple now. I just dream of getting by. I can no longer bear the crushing pain of watching my dreams, and witnessing God's words coming back empty over and over again.
Dream today 8.27.2020 Alignment of Planets and it will come Near to EARTH That is Truly visible. Can GOD Do It??? Why NOT?? HE could as He Created the Universe.. All things Possible to HIM THANk YOU AVAH YESHUA! I appreciate Rick Warren. I do not agree with this sermon & making global rules of judgment over people that are assumed to apply to all people. Would a person in prison, losing their whole life, for something they did not do, be able to say that they are their own biggest problem? I am living something similar. Preachers sometimes assume we all pretty much have a life similar to theirs, I think. And do not have in mind the extremes some people live under. I'd have a totally different life apart from over 3 decades of severe life interference & disruption by inescapable bullying. I see a lot of American preachers just assume we have the "basic American life:" we don't. It's okay, because I have asked God to judge many matters, said a prayer, read a daily Word based source, & have clearly heard judgments of God that would not match this sermon. That's how I know it varies from what God would say. God also showed me that we do not all have equal footing in life & an equal chance to do well, including avoiding generational curses, etc. But God can work AFTER some bad things happen, etc. Nonetheless, I still find a lot of value in this sermon, that God does indeed care most about our spiritual development, & loves us, & allows our faith to be tested, & has plans for our lives. But things are not always one for one straightforward--- such as the story of Job. The psalms which speak much of 'sinners who prosper in their ways." What we need is to put our problems in their true perspective. Too often, preachers, mental health workers, etc, impose one interpretation/ life narrative to impose. Just be careful Church in what interpretation you accept. If you've already been working for holiness & pleading to God for help with your faults, etc, you don't need to be beat on to do that. Still, if you suffer, it can be for many reasons. And this sermon has great points of possibilities about that... I just wish it was spoken that way, not as a forced interpretation.
