Thanks for the recommendations. I'm really interested in the Maleko Quad Lfo now. Had no idea it was so powerful. When you said it had its own modulation and attenuation I was sold.
This is clearly the premier TH-cam channel for modular content delivered with dead pan humor. I for one am glad you splurged on the green screen despite your looming bankruptcy. Also, wtf were you doing to get the Trident to sound like that?
@@JamesonNathanJones You should do a video about how the real trick to making beautiful modular music is making sure you're alone and the recording is turned off.
I had a Trident, twice, sold and have not bought a third, yet. I could have sworn those osc were PFGA but I could not find anything to support that. I say that because the Trident osc sound was not full enough for me and it reminded me of the same issues I had with the Novation Peak / Summit and the UDO Super Six. By the way, are we all just chasing sounds made by Trent Reznor? I know I would not have considered synths if it werent for many of Reznor's creations and textures.
Man, I had to pause at the first minute just to write this. Your style, narrative, editing is really setting you apart and have sung your praises in GS (especially on that paraphonic comparison between the Matriarch and Pro3). My outmost respect and thanks for providing such creative, informative, and entertaining content 🙏🏻
Love the Eloquencer for immediacy and programming sequences, but definitely miss the Hermod for its flexibility and ability to record midi/cv off the grid. If your case is beat based or trigger based Eloquencer hands down, but if it’s more melodically based Hermod is amazing. Unfortunately I do a bit of both. Ha Thinking of building a smaller travel case eventually and getting a Hermod for that. 😅
@@JamesonNathanJones I have had Hermod for a little over a year, and while it is great at many many things I also miss the immediacy + I almost entirely use the rack as is with no external synths or DAW so on, so the interfacing capabilities isn't that useful (I use a K-board as control which is also powered from Hermod, that is pretty awesome though!) - thinking of getting an Eloquencer instead, but my music is not particularly beat driven so it might be a mistake. Probably should get a Usta or Black sequencer instead maybe... The choices (and money...)
Your channel is criminally under-viewed, sir! Just hope you know that we appreciate the music and all the time you put into editing your videos. Just getting into eurorack now, got an 0-coast( a “zero-coast”?), moog mavis and Erica synths mixer, using sq-1 as sequencer…. Having tons of fun, but feeling like I need another sequencer to liven the tracks up. Any advice for a eurorack sequencer that’s more beginner/budget friendly? I was thinking maybe steppy, or memetic digitalis? (Been watching a bunch of Ricky’s vids too)
Thanks for that, Greg! Really appreciate the kind words 🙏 I’ve had both the steppy and memetic in the past, and while they’re both great, they each have some limitations. Steppy is only for gates (no pitch cv) and while Memetic does quantized pitch (no gates), I found that it worked best as a modulator rather than a note sequencer because it has a pretty unique workflow. Really good for semi-randomized stuff though. Have you looked into the Keystep Pro? That would give you four lanes of pitch and gates, and since you have some semi modular stuff, it can sequence midi for you as well.
@@JamesonNathanJones oh that’s good to know about the pitch and gate for both those! And I actually have a keystep pro already, which I love! Was wondering about something more rack mounted but maybe I should explore the KSP before I buy something else😅
Yeah... the Trident kinda needs its own mixer. 2HP is perfect for it. And yeah... I am really sick and tired of having to pull a manual out to even USE a module. Which is why I end up using my 5U system on actual music MUCH more than Eurorack.
how much money do you have invested in your studio? yeah, im going there. of course I understand if you dont wanna answer. Respect either way, love your vids.
Powerful modules organized thoughtfully and presented in an entertaining way, noice
More great content. Thanks again!

I love them. They definitely fly under the radar, but they pack a ton into a reasonable amount of hp
Great video, the more you talk about the trident, the more I want it and the more I realize I do not have the money or rack space for it haha
Talk about a crazy expressive matrix of creative possibilities!

Lots of modulation from the quad lfos. But it’s modular, so it’ll never sound that way again. Ha

Well done sir
I am starting my journey to modular, and this presentation is definitely going to destroy me... Subed!

Great video well presented and fun to watch.
😎
Great video! Could you plz post a link to the dust blower you are using, if you think it's a good one?

Now back to the vid - unfortunately, no Vanilla Float but a nice cocktail 😉
I appreciate that! Makes the hours of editing…well, not fly by, but a little less painful 😅
@@JamesonNathanJones and the Rossum Trident? Oh my… 🤙
…have been trying to get hold of it for some time (UK-based)

What are those plastic things on your output 1/4 inch cables?
Great rundown! Very curious what your thoughts as of now are on the shift from Hermod to Eloquencer on your workflow and music?

What patch points would you add to the E352?
I'll be curious to know what you'll replace the E352 with.
I like the Monsoon as well... maybe even more than Beads. Please forgive me.
not sure how I missed this 11-month-old bouncing baby boy of a video until today. but, yaaaaay!! I enjoyed it. meow.
I was so young and innocent back then…

Thank you!
I just saw another video with a really dusty rack. And you start yours dusting...
I'm scared.
I checked a list of best songs made with eurorack and the list wasnt that impressive at all.
Neat
