Being forced to go to church as a child was the absolute most uncomfortable moments in my entire life. Luckily I got out of all that by the age of 12-13. And now 42 years later I’ve discovered NN DMT, and that has been my absolute best event in my entire life. This is coming from someone that has experienced everything from becoming a skydiver, snowboarding big mountains, traveling and dating plenty of beautiful women. DMT Blew all that away and it’s only a 15 minute event. I’m a vegetarian, animal lover, and quit alcohol on my own almost 2 years ago. Ok. It’s prostate, not prostrate. Surgery is usually not the first line of treatment and many times the cancer is so slow growing that the person will die of something else before it ever becomes a problem. The treatment is often to do nothing but watch to keep an eye on it. His analogy is as simplistic and ignorant as his whole dog and pony show. And we worry about the detrimental effects of video games! This is like telling a baby,”Here’s your mother. She loves you very much. If you cross her she will kill you.” This man knows nothing of the meaning of love. It is not transactional. You cannot scare people into being anything meaningful.
I used to feel that it was right to allow people their beliefs, even if I don’t share them, and that perhaps there is something good in there for the world in general.. but seeing things like this really make me question whether religion has any prevailing positive influence in this day and age. I belief good people of faith would be good without faith, but people like this man on the other hand wouldn’t exist with bonkers ideas about traumatizing children into believing as he does, if Christianity didn’t exist. These are some warped ideas of right and wrong right here.
"Personal relationship with jesus christ" Mhmmm and this jesus christ, is he in the room with us now? These people shouldnt be allowed alone with or to have authoritative roles with children, or have a voice in politics. Theyre not just stupid. Theyre insane.
Almost none of their central doctrines really come from the Bible. This “personal relationship” belief included. They read narratives about Jesus being close to his apostles and put themselves in that position. Out pops this doctrine.
Their Bible says nothing that they claim about hell. That was all developed much later by literature like Dante’s Inferno. They only make it seem like it comes from the Bible by pointing to verses removed from their context. And they know no one will read in-context to find out.
This was obviously quite a long time ago. I wonder what a follow up on this pastors life would reveal. Often with these sort of fire and brimstone characters it doesn't end up being pleasant reading.
When are laws going to be passed in all countries where frauds like this man are imprisoned and their operations shut down. If evil exists then it can be found among people who use mind control measures to disenfranchise weak-minded people of their remnaining senses. Physical abusers can be imprisoned so why not mental abusers?
20:00 He's using the analogy of a doctor diagnosing you with a disease, which requires a test and physical observable evidence to diagnose. As a justification to tell children they're going to hell, which he defends by saying, "its just his belief". That's much closer to a doctor diagnosing you with cancer with no diagnosis or evidence for it and wanting to put you on chemo just because he believes you have it. That is psychotic and really challenges my previously held view that "these are just harmless beliefs." I'm starting to think this isn't something we should be tolerating at all in a healthy society.
Dr. Dawkins, as a suggestion, should you come across other Terrifiers like them, you could ask what he would think if other religions did similar terror-based manipulating of people to recruit people into their religion.
I actually have almost as much distrust and skepticism of the medical industry as I do of organized religion. But that's a matter for discussion in another context ...
When I was 10, a neighbor girl invited me to her Southern Baptist Church for an "event". After the event, we were corralled into a gymnasium where adults were waiting with clipboards to take down our personal information. I panicked and ran for the doors. A woman chased after me. She cornered me and grabbed my arm, and I attacked her out of sheer panic. I was crying and hyperventilating and growling through clenched teeth as two men unfurled my fists from her hair. They pulled me to my feet, flanked either side of me, and without saying a word, they walked me over to a set of doors, opened them, and shoved me out. At 12, a van would drop a group of kids off at my house. They were strangers to me, but they knew who I was. I only opened the door the first time they showed up. They invited me to their church, I told them no and shut the door. They were there for another 20 minutes or so before the van came back to pick them up. They sat at my front door and chatted until it did. They showed up monthly after that. They would knock on the door, run around my house, peek in windows, and call out my name. The whole thing was so unpleasant that I started leaving my house out of a back door when they showed up. I noticed how taken aback this man was by the word "interference". He explained that kids are coming to them... they're not. In Texas, The Southern Baptists keep records on people's religious affiliations. Their recruiting tactics are very aggressive and entirely aimed at children.
Strange thing with all their preaching - I never hear them mention what Jesus said " Give ALL your money to the poor -take up your cross and follow me ! It seems it would take an even more terrifying scenario acted out for Americans to do that ! Curious isn't it ! That Pastor may be sincere but so many are motivated by wealth and do not do what Jesus asked of them - Pastors and congregation ! Doing something out of fear is not the same as going it out of genuine love as RD pointed out but fell on deaf ears ?!
His extreme dry mouth while Dr. Dawkins is calmly asking questions is very telling. Dry mouth is usually lying and his turning away from Dr. Dawkins whenever things get tough is as well.
If God has a destiny for someone and they were born a Christian, pursuing their path with purpose, it raises an important question about free will. It seems that God has a plan, guiding choices and actions. Perhaps, in this sense, free will is about embracing the journey we are on, influenced by a higher purpose.
"Free will" and "determinism" (but not "free speech") have metaphysical histories (baggage). They are absolutist notions. I avoid them, using a spectrum of more or less agency.
Not in every single case, but in many of his responses, all I can think, and I can't get past it, is that this guy isn't really pulling from pondered belief, but rather trying to simultaneously concoct a response while justifying it to himself; All this without either he or Richard noticing that he's never actually considered the questions. Or that he never actually answered them. 🙄
Hello Richard, I heard a joke told by Dave Allen many years ago. He said: Pope is arguing with atheist about God's existence. Pope said to atheist," you are a fool. You are a blind person in a dark room looking for a dark cat that does not exist!" Atheist reply," Yes. We are both fools, we are both blind, living in a dark room, looking for a dark cat that does not exist. The only difference is, you said you found it." Hell is like the cat that does not exist but the preacher said he found it. As for the analogy the preacher said at 21:25 about a doctor tells a person that he has a cancer. According to the preacher, telling the person that he has cancer is not cruel, it's telling the truth. If I were that person, I'll reply, I would go to another doctor for a second opinion. For the doctor may be wrong, he may overlook, he may got the wrong diagnosis e.g. the test result may be the result of another person. Take one step backward, even if the second doctor get the same result that I have cancer. Then the next question will be: the doctor may not have the best treatment. There many be other treatments (notice the plural); there many be new medical advance that the doctor does not know. So why should I listen ONLY to that doctor?
It's important to show why and how religion is wrong, not just dismissing it. Debating against religious people shows the logical superiority of science over science. Which helps people develop critical thinking, opposite of religious thinking.
The better approach with these people going forward is going to be to show them that their Bible doesn’t say 90+% of the things they believe. But that will require a large number of people who read it to understand what it’s really saying, not to have a religious belief.
This man does not suffer from delusions because it's religion! The only time they are let off the hook..... otherwise this person would be considered mentally ill.
You call it “Hell House” but want people to have a positive outlook of the ministry? How in the world do you reconcile that? He didn’t speak of love until he was confronted.
It is such a shame that people believe in the Bible as the word of God and that God is still a he. I do not believe in the Bible and do not believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. But I do believe that Jesus was a real person and had God-realization. Just like Ramana Maharshi, Ramakrisha, Sivananda, Ananda Mayi Ma and many others.

comparing a dr with a preacher? talk about self-delusion. Drs work on testable, provable evidential medicine. Priests get their words form an old book of seriously dubious integrity. he knows that he was born, according to God's plan, into Christianity. Does that mean then that god either ignores all the other religions, or, are those relgions practiced because of god's plan?

So his ministry cherry picks what they believe but he wont admit it.
He keep telling that the "hell is real"? I wonder if he saw that place.
Their Bible says nothing that they claim about hell. That was all developed much later by literature like Dante’s Inferno. They only make it seem like it comes from the Bible by pointing to verses removed from their context. And they know no one will read in-context to find out.
Kudos to this Pastor for letting Richard confront and question. Love you Richard!!!

He's using the analogy of a doctor diagnosing you with a disease, which requires a test and physical observable evidence to diagnose. As a justification to tell children they're going to hell, which he defends by saying, "its just his belief".
That's much closer to a doctor diagnosing you with cancer with no diagnosis or evidence for it and wanting to put you on chemo just because he believes you have it.
That is psychotic and really challenges my previously held view that "these are just harmless beliefs." I'm starting to think this isn't something we should be tolerating at all in a healthy society.
if we don't tolerate, they turn into jihadists, and we become disposable infidels
This guy talks a great deal without saying anything grounded in reality.
You're describing Jordan Peterson perfectly
You are pure bullshit.
Which guy? 🤨
@@kasperadamson4654the religulous one
It would be good for him to watch and listen to himself, lol.
The pushing of religious or political dogma upon children through grooming and fear is just gross.
Thanks for sharing your story and experience. 🤗 There’s hardly anything more dangerous than organized religion.
Doing something out of fear is not the same as going it out of genuine love as RD pointed out but fell on deaf ears ?!
it is all about his experience with god and his personal relationship with jesus. the ego is unbelievable.
His extreme dry mouth while Dr. Dawkins is calmly asking questions is very telling. Dry mouth is usually lying and his turning away from Dr. Dawkins whenever things get tough is as well.
'I am not going to discuss that' - because he isnt intelligent enough to discuss the question or he knows he is spouting rubbish.
Seems like a good hearted person who wants to do good, sadly infected with religion.😢
He said:
Pope is arguing with atheist about God's existence.
Pope said to atheist," you are a fool. You are a blind person in a dark room looking for a dark cat that does not exist!"
Atheist reply," Yes. We are both fools, we are both blind, living in a dark room, looking for a dark cat that does not exist. The only difference is, you said you found it."
Hell is like the cat that does not exist but the preacher said he found it.
He reminds me of Jim Jones, the cult leader.
Well, he reminds of the unfaithful.
I wonder what traumas this person has experienced in his life to make him so narrow in his thinking and beliefs and so sure about them.
That’s actually a very good point you are making with your question.
Trauma is not a cause of belief.
That is fucking stupid.
Well intentioned tosh - as a species we are formed to believe anything
One simple answer... It's a fairytale...
if Jesus has forgiven future sins, we best go out and get on the sinning...otherwise he's wasted his time and effort.
We're born, we live, we die. End of story. No heaven or hell.
"God" had Jesus killed on a cross because he is a drama queen and he thinks that impresses us.
20:46 This guy lost his argument when he brought up doctors.. If God or prayer was the answer why go to the doctor??
Apologies, but I couldn't rightly get past the "prostrate" cancer. Oh, dear... It was an interesting conversation, though.
I find it just too funny! 😄
Sickening and delusional lunacy. Pure evil to do this to children. Eternal shame on these morons.
Same old religious drivel and self-delusion.
So, hell smells like melted stinky
cheese. Sign me up!!
I've been there, it's Switzerland. Lovely place.
I never cease to be amazed at the cool you show when talking to religious extremists. If I was a child I would want to grow up to be just like you.
Hell is inside your head.
Satre said 'hell is other people' - like this evil guy.
Diagnosed with "prostrate" cancer, hmm😅
Prostrate Definition & Meaning
Merriam-Webster
1. Stretched out with face on the ground in adoration or submission; also : lying flat.
Or in this case, flat out lying!
I think he said 'Protestant cancer'.
Richard Dawkins, the patron saint of us atheists.
These peope are no different to the Taliban.
Just started listening to the hell guy. He is one sick human being.
Hell is the White House
comparing a dr with a preacher? talk about self-delusion. Drs work on testable, provable evidential medicine. Priests get their words form an old book of seriously dubious integrity. he knows that he was born, according to God's plan, into Christianity. Does that mean then that god either ignores all the other religions, or, are those relgions practiced because of god's plan?
