wow.. this series when downhill at breakneck speed after DW5. They managed to revive it to an extent when 8 and 8XL came out.. and although I've never been a huge fan of some characters but for gods sake give them their weapons back that identify their characteristics! For instance Zhang He needs his claws, and Sun Ce needs his tonfas, just like Cao Ren needs his buckler blade and Gan Ning needs his pirate scimitar! Its just not the same anymore.. I appreciate the expansion of the roster, but why can't they come up with other weapons for the new guys, it can't be that hard! No wonder DW9 got awful reviews ... R.I.P.

P.S : If you start the story with Wei, then follow it up with Jin, you will basically unlock all the playable character. I'm doing this method and only one character left that I need to unlock which is Wen Yang

Lu Xun - his character is a bit youthful like the old one. It's a bit bold for him.
Sun Shangxiang - A little more vivid, please?
Gan Ning - I prefer the old one.
Sun Jian - zzzzzzzzzzz (because his VA is SO BAD, I just want the one from the old DW better)
Taishi Ci - ... and so does your bad voice. The old one is more likeable.
Lu Meng - boo! Worst voice of Wu winner!
Huang Gai - passable but no.
Zhou Tai - good pick. Should be contacted on a separate offer if they get the old VAs back.
Ling Tong - oh, come on! Another bad VA?
Sun Ce - please, no. Not another bad VAs in a row!
Sun Quan - finally. A decent VA that's right for the character!
Xiao Qiao - "Hello loli police? I report a bad VA on a good loli gal in DW. I request the old one back."
Da Qiao - some practice and can you say "Stay away from me!" on her musou?
Ding Feng - bad
Bu Lianshi - she's quite ok for her VA. Can she voice Zhen Ji too if they can't get Wendee Lee on her?
Lu Su - are you trying to be Pang Tong or Guo Huai?
Han Dang - now that's a good VA even for a one shot attempt.
Zhu Ran - you should voice Lu Xun. You're more fitted and keep Zhu Ran's.
Cheng Pu - now, first, it should be Wu, not Uu, and second can we voice you with the old VA of Huang Zhong?
Xu Sheng - again, you should voice Sun Ce.

@Emilia plays action games I like the voice of Xing Cai prior to IX. She has young yet bold voice which suits her well.
I miss Cristina Vee as Lian Shi from DW 7 until DW 8 Xtreme Legends
Shu = Green
Wei = Blue
Wu = Red
Jin = Cyan
Dong Zhuo and Han = Purple
Yuan Shao, Yellow Turbans and Yuan Shu = Yellow
Nanman = Orange
Budget went to the open world system, they can't afford more than 5 people to do voice acting

@@BlueQuorthon well. I have since learned the reason why the old voice actors weren't used for this game. During development the VO strike was happening so. Oops. So the clone move sets is all I have beef with in this game. And hiding new move sets behind paid dlc haha
@@kaigen999 maybe keepin' voices in japanese could have been the best choice... but those weapons... like DW7... again?
@@BlueQuorthon yeah. Kept it Japanese only like Samurai Warriors 4 and Warriors Orochi 3 and 4. And the move sets are actually almost as bad as dynasty warriors 6. That was nightmarish.
Dw6 was not so bad, but the few characters... and the weapons... not those written in the book! e.g. the weapon of choice of Xu Chu (Xu Zhu) was a greadsword, not a club! and Xu Shu was an officer of Wei, not Shu: he never fought against Wei! and the weapons of Dian Wei were two heavy halberds!
No english voice actor can replace the ones from 7 and 8. Seriously for DW9 it feels like they use 2 to 3 people for this. Welp dw3 all over again

Wang Yuanji - old VA is much more good, and can handle her hidden tsundere antics.
Zhong Hui - another copy-paste VA fail.
Zhuge Dan - how come he has more bolder voice?

Zhao Yun - nice but I love the old one better.
Guan Yu - now I get it that it has a bold voice but I find some odd with it. Maybe practice or a good bold voice perhaps? (old VA fits well)
Zhang Fei - he'll fit better on Cao Ren than Zhang Fei.
Zhuge Liang - no, you should voice Sima Yi instead. Just not on Kongming. Old one still beat you 10 to 1.
Liu Bei - contract thought: "I would love to admit but I should voice Taishi Ci, Sun Ce, Zhao Yun and Zhou Yu once my contract expires."
Ma Chao - good
Huang Zhong - now, first don't copy the old VA's speech style and second, try to act naturally. We love the old VA but that doesn't mean you're not qualify.
Wei Yan - I. Skip you. VA, pretending. (old VA's version is better)
Guan Ping - now how come you're good and the most aren't?
Pang Tong - no, it's just bad. Guo Huai should suit this VA well.
Yueying - I must admit, she's good.
Jiang Wei - replace.
Liu Shan - no, that VA is not for him.
Xing Cai (latter Lady Zhang) - she should voice Yuanji, then again her old VA (and Yuanji's) are better.
Ma Dai - this one should voice Jia Xu. It fits more.
Guan Suo - can you voice Ling Tong too?
Bao Sanniang - she should voice Da Qiao instead.
Xu Shu - you should voice Jiang Wei and keep this.
Guan Xing - please voice Liu Shan. the one who voiced it sucks and you should be part of the old VA crew for DW10 too.
Zhang Bao - this one should voice the one from Wu. Weng Yang/Zhao Yun come in mind as well.
Guan Yingping - you should voice Sun Renmin. It fits you more than VA in Yingping cos she has some youthful voice like the one in DW8.
Fa Zheng - now we need to know why his VA should be voiced other characters while keeping his current VA assignment?
Zhou Cang - cool. Maybe a little bit more.

Xu Huang - the VA seemed to be a young version to the previous one but he's not portrayed as a young man so sorry.
Zhang He - I want my claws back - AND MY OLD VA!
Cao Ren - isn't Ren's voice should be a bold one?
Cao Pi - passable
Zhen Ji - two words... Wendee Lee. If you can't get Wendee back, probably someone who can voice in the same manner as Wendee. Seriously, she's a femme fatale.
Cai Wenji - passable. The old VA is still good though.
Jia Xu - I think the old one is better
Pang De - I NEED YOU TO HAVE A BOLD VOICE!
Wang Yi - you know that the old one has one of the best voices for Wang Yi? I played DW8CE and DW8 Empires and I still love her VA! Perfect fit for the woman seeking vengeance!
Guo Jia - practice, practice, practice
Yue Jin - passable. Younger bold voice.
Li Dian - more time to avoid speech gap
Yu Jin - voice is odd. Replace.
Xun Yu - passable
Cao Xiu - no comment. Would love to see if they get the old VA back before comparing.
Man Chong - yes! Yes! Yes!
Xun You - no speech gap and he's ok.

We're the proper voice actors working on orochi 4 and samurai 4 instead and couldn't do this game?
@@Cybizar Probably due to the contract issues thus the VA on DW9 on English were not as notable from the past DW series.
DW 8 served us with the Hi-Quality English Voice Actor. I'm so disappointed with English VA's choice for this game, tbh.

The Dynasty Warriors 9 voice actors must have taken lessons from the William Shatner Academy of Drama and Theatre Arts and their voices seem to have some trademark Shatnerisms in there

Would you recommend this game? I've heard lots of negative things about it but some good as well. I've ended up enjoying games those considered bad before. I'm a huge DW fan and SW fan and I liked 8 so would I like this one?
GothicPunk007 I would personally recommend it. It's nothing groundbreaking, and has it's flaws, but so far, I find it to be worthwhile.

Question about Free Mode. Are there cutscenes too like in DW8Xl? In DW8XL you can play Free Mode with any character in any stage even if they were not part of that particular timeline and you could still view cutscenes as you played the stages, I liked that. Can you do that in this game as well?
@GothicPunk007 Sorry for the late reply. I hear negative stuff also. I'll admit the game has its good and bad stuff. If you like the open world feature and traveling and fighting different battles here and there, then definitely get it!
Thank you, are you enjoying the game? I'm being slowly pushed over the edge as I'd like to try it and form my own opinion.
In a way... I am, but at the same time.... It's burning me out because of the individual character stories. The game does become repetitive especially with 90 characters. In the old days and there were less than 60 or 50 characters, I had no problem with it and everyone story was different. But now, it's too much.
Why haven't Gao Shun, Wen Chao, and Tan liang been given characters yet? You chose other irrelevant ones but not them, what's the deal?
