Considering the parallels between Nordrassil the World Tree and the Oshu'gun it made sense for it to be used here. Despite having a legion of void creatures, I had not used Old Gods yet. And so, I chose to make Archimonde turn into one by absorbing the naaru's energies. Since I had no model for the Oshu'gun/Genedar, I decided to use a protoss carrier model, retextured using the rock texture while dormant and with a purple recolor to look like the draenei ships from WoW. And after all those coincidences, it made a lot of sense to turn it into a StarCraft 1 Tassadar and Overmind reference.
Another coincidence is that I wanted to use a free voice AI for the naaru and I had a trained model for Deckard Cain, I applied some effects and only then realized that it sounds just like Tassadar because they have the same voice actor.
