Looks fantastic. Walking around during nighttime in the rain has always been one of the most peaceful, beautiful thing in games like this to me. Looks no different here. The world design feels a tad uninspired to me, but other than that, I really have a feeling this is going to be something truly special.
A bunch of EMOs in a non-turn-based game... Square'll NEVER beat FF7 sales with this piece of crap... Which, in turn, means there won't be ANY FF7 remake... I mean, WOW, the graphics are SOOO AWESOME, just LOOK at this GREAT INNOVATIONS like WEATHER and HAIR and... and... and REAL_TIME_SHADOWS!!!... Meh, I won't be bought by some fancy fasade. They totally forgot that glory of FF9 and Dragon Warrior 8. Shame on Square.
This game has taken so much time to be released the lash out is going to be of epic proportions if they fail to fulfill the expectations many have for it. At least it's not like FFXIII which linearity pretty much killed the game.
I don't know if this is against popular opinion but I hope you can't explore the whole world at the start of the game. It feels like a bigger adventure in games when you unlock each section bit by bit, and then only towards the final third of the game you can really explore everywhere.
I loved XIII. The story was quite exciting, the level design top notch and gameplay-wise long enough. I liked the way you had to approach new tactics while playing with the different character combinations in parties. Also, the music was perfect in my opinion.
Congrats Square-Enix ! Finally on the right path . I beg you , DON'T dissapoint us again , I really want this game to beat all other FF's in terms of everything . We ll wait as long as we need to . Take your time to make it the perfect game that we all have been waiting for the past 7-8 years .
1:35 is perfect, that cave calls to explore. Kinda reminds me of ff7's Mt. Nibel in HD. I have a good gut feeling that the story and characters will be deep and addictive, but we will see... About the gameplay, the combat looks too action paced, but I will forget that if it actually needs strategy. I hope this game offers variety of contrasting environments to explore, hidden things to discover and of course towns with dateless musical themes. Not to forget optional superbosses and minigames. I want game, where I can use over 100 hours of gameplay before going to last boss. But I don't want something like FF XIII missions, which were fucking boring and repeative. I want to discover. Maybe my exceptions are too high, but I have a good hunch about this game
I love the monster designs, they actually look like living beasts and not animal-robot hybrids. It is so weird that you have the real modern feel along with the beasts that look ancient, but I am intrigued to see how it plays out. The character designs are so good! People complaining about the graphics, go on, please demonstrate how to do it, go make a game that looks as good as this.

That's what I was thinking. For every additional layer of pores I won't really notice most of the time, I'd gladly take a few extra side-quests instead.

I didnt mind the linearity as much as the god-awful story and dialogue. Jesus christ, some of those cutscenes were just....
What killed FFXIII wasn't the linearity. It was the 20-hour tutorial.
