    What's the difference between hot and cold press? Best uses for?

    • @watercolorpour
      @watercolorpour  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      with my style of painting it seems the cold press does better with wet painting, (wet on wet, watercolor pouring) and the hot press works better with direct painting, wet on dry paper, sketching and painting , where less water is used.

      Hi, thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. I use scotch tape for paintings 11" x 14" or smaller, saves me a lot of money as it is less expensive than artists tape. As far as tearing or pulling up, to me it seems about the same as any other tape I have tried. TIPS: try not to let paint/water pool along the tape line (wipe with tissue along tape line) and try not to apply heat directly to tape line if using a dryer (this applies to all tape used) lastly make sure the painting is 100% dry before removing the tape -this seems to work for me. Hope this helps
