    Whitesnake (1987) came out during my 8th Grade year, and was the second biggest hit record after Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet" and Europe's "The Final Countdown." But it was the one album that got me listening to heavier rock than just the basic glam metal that MTV was playing at the time. Then Dokken came out with "Back for the Attack" later that year and I was hooked on heavier metal after that. Then when I started High School in the Fall of 87, I got into Thrash metal with Metallica and Megadeth.

    Weird, I just last week had a nostalgia moment and downloaded a few Whitesnake songs that I haven't heard in years. Tawney Kitaen makes the video even better with the song!

    Fun fact. Whitesnake was almost a Supergroup. With Coverdale of course on vocals but Adrian Vandenberg on guitar as well as my favorite guitarist Steve Vai! Not to mention Rudy Sarzo on bass!! I seen this concert tour!! It was awesome!!!

      She was also David Coverdale's ( the lead singer of Whitesnake) wife....Also bi-polar and very unhinged.
      They divorced years later after many trips to rehab(for her) and lots of domestic violence(perpetrated by her)....go figure...she did nothing to improve the stereotype for hot redheaded women....lol

    Just found your channel today. Watched several of your videos. Your comment about David Coverdale triggered a memory. I watched a documentary on Def Leppard. I think it was the Hysteria album he was talking about, but he mentioned David Coverdale coming into the studio they were recording at. He came in to lay down some vocals for the Whitesnake album he was working on and Joe Elliot reflected how envious he was of him. He said David Coverdale came in did his track in one take flawlessly was out in minutes. Joe said they had been tiring away all day just on one song and he comes in and does his thing in minutes.

    I remember when this came out, it had such a huge Zeppelin feel to it. Coverdale has been in a few bands before this, but this really did have a Plant/Page vibe to it. I loved the album and this was the album that made me dig deeper into their older stuff which was even better IMHO.

    • @jimc7445
      @jimc7445 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same here. I love their old stuff and it just doesn't get the credit it deserves. There are some terrific songs. I saw Whitesnake last year and I was hoping they would play at least one of their older songs. They didn't. The oldest stuff they played was off Slide It In.

      @@Nissardpertugiu It's more than just the riff that gives it the Zep feel. David sounds like Plant in that song along with the mannerisms. Then there is the Cello, but in the video they show the guitarist using a bow string on his guitar. Hmmmmm, where have I seen that before?

    Kick-started many boys (and maybe a few girls) puberty; Tawny Kitean and those Jaguars, Whitesnake started as an offshoot of Deep Purple evolved into this era, basically a Zep clone. But Rocked!!! Coverdale started in Deep Purple, think Mark Wahlberg in Rock Star, went out on his own, and I think they are still touring today.
