great selections. this was my first time to do this vinyl tag as well. I am late to the party, just did it last week. Parliament Funkadelic is the best, I'm a closet funk fan. Strangely enough, I don't have Rumours on vinyl. Seems everyone has that or Thriller which I don't have either.
The Joy Division record? Absolutely! One of my favorite debuts. They weren't exactly Manchester, but more of the Greater Manchester area. I took liberties on that one because I really wanted that record in the video.
Super tag video great group of records everything from the Beatles to Anthrax great stuff! I just subbed you up, I mainly talk rock vinyl on my channel and post a few concert clips, thanks for sharing the great records have a great 2024!
Great tag. I listened to a lot of Elvis Costello this year as well. I picked Tony Bennett as well. I have had very little luck at thrift stores. You have a wide variety of musical interests which I like.
Great first vinyl tag. Another Chris in the house! I had a lot of fun answering these questions too. I like your wide taste in music. I’m a huge Sinatra fan. Jack White is great…I love how he produced the Loretta Lynn albums. I chose the 80s too.
Thank you so much Chris! I had a blast with these questions too. The best part is I'm honored to hear such positive feedback from some of my favorite channels like yours and others. I'm a big fan, thank you.
I had already subscribed and liked your video by the time you got to The Refreshments, but damn, totally agree - Fizzy, Fuzzy, Big, and Buzzy is one of all time favourite albums! Have you followed Roger Clyne’s work since then? Killer stuff.
Thanks Jon! I haven't followed any of Roger Clyne's stuff after the Refreshments... yet. Have you seen the documentary? I hear it's great, I need to catch up on them. I played the first two albums a ton over the years.
I haven’t seen the documentary, I’ll have to go hunt for it! The Bottle & Fresh Horses was a great follow up that, tragically, was largely ignored. Looking forward to going back and watching some of your other videos. Dig that basement setup you have!
I still haven't watched it yet, but it's called "Here's To Life: The Story of The Refreshments". Looks like it has great reviews too. I agree, their follow-up was also good.
Great picks! New to your channel. This is one of the things I love about the Vinyl Tag. I try not to go too deep with these because they spoil my own picks, but it's great because it steers me in a new direction. Happy 2024!
Outstanding! Clearly you've thought everything through very well, including the little joke you worked in - directing us to a "brief history" that ran for almost 3 hours!
@@LateNightDeadWax I think she is such a terrible presenter. There's no insight at all and its almost as if she hasnt really listened to the music. She's the new Fantano. Sorry - but you're way ahead of her already in terms of presentation and clarity.
Hi Chris Im Paul...from Elvis Costello to Tony Bennett ,Mac and more you bet ya...OG NIN great too...love the variety here..subbed to you ...great stuff great tag.Thanx for sharing and take care
At first I thought original pressing of Rumours was alright...until I received my complimentary copy of the 2011 remaster and wow! It's def a keeper. - Red
Hi Chris’s thanks for responding to the vinyl tag .. I’ve added your video to the playlist on my channel.. your channel is new to me I’ve subscribed and I hope you get many more subscribers in 2024 👍
Nice response! Happy to come across your channel. That Ill Sugi sounds like it would be up my ally. I want that Nora Jones album! Surprisingly, I don’t think I saw anybody else pick the fab 4 for their dinner party! Good choice! Subbed up and looking forward to watching more. Happy New Year.
It is an amazing sounding record. If you can, check it out for sure! The Norah record was the one I was most excited for on RSD Black Friday this year. I didn't see anyone else pick the Beatles either, very surprising. Thanks, Happy New Year!
Hi there! The best part of the vinyl tag is coming across new channels like yours. I have that Romeo & Juliet soundtrack but on compact disc. I had a pile of Sinatra in my Tag response including the one you showed. Unknown Pleasures is really excellent and I have that one too, Closer is amazing as well. I love Tony Bennett and have several LPs. The Black Sabbath album is an essential! Just subscribed!
Did you Baz album have Use Sunscreen on it? I absolutely love that song. I chose the 80s also, music blew up and went all over the place. The first 5 Costello albums are pure classics to me. I like him best when he is pissed. Rock music came from the blues, country and jazz which was a big part from the USA. New to your channel, I’ll give you a sub.
Unfortunately, they only used the Rozalla version on that soundtrack. That was an awesome song that I almost forgot about. Definitely the first 5 are classics from Costello. Thanks for the sub!
Nice Tag video! Just found your channel through the Tag. Knew it was a keeper once I saw you flash Maggot Brain. Latest sub - looking forward to checking out your content. Cheers! 🍺
I was happy to see you link to Abigail Devoe, the MC5 video, I was afraid you were going to leave her anonymous. Nice video, by the way. The Romeo and Julliet soundtrack kind of threw me, but all in all some pretty fine music. Of course, anything I type is merely my opinion, which doesn't mean ____!
Hi, this is my first time seeing your channel. Pretty Hate Machine came out a couple of months after I turned 20, so I had to use a different album for that question.

Thanks, but you need Rumours, one of my favorites! Haha
The debut of a major new talen, for sure!
The Joy Division record? Absolutely! One of my favorite debuts. They weren't exactly Manchester, but more of the Greater Manchester area. I took liberties on that one because I really wanted that record in the video.

The easel is a nice touch.
Thanks, I always feel weird just holding the records.
Great tag. I listened to a lot of Elvis Costello this year as well. I picked Tony Bennett as well. I have had very little luck at thrift stores. You have a wide variety of musical interests which I like.
Thanks! My taste is music is very broad. Just subscribed to your channel, I'll check out your Tag tonight. Can't go wrong with Elvis.

Pretty Hate Machine is epic! 🤙🏻

My first vinyl tag too. So much fun and leading me to other vc like your channel.
Awesome, I'll check your Tag out today. This is definitely introducing me to so many other channels, too!

Yes, I should and will! Wow, over doubled my subscribers.

That MC5 video was awesome, I had to shout it out for sure. She does great videos, but that one was even better.
Hi, this is my first time seeing your channel. Pretty Hate Machine came out a couple of months after I turned 20, so I had to use a different album for that question.
Yeah, I was just under the wire on that one. I'm glad it worked cause it's my all-time favorite record.
What pressing of Maggot brain is that?
Whats the sound quality like?
It's a recent UK reissue and has good reviews on Discogs. It sounds great to me, but I don't have anything to compare it to.
