Hi Chris! Congratulations on surpassing 100 subscribers! I had a few KTEL albums when I was a kid. As you said, the best way to get a good bang for your buck! Bat Out Of Hell, American Fool, Shout At The Devil! I have all of these including that Whitesnake! Kind Of Blue was my introduction to Jazz back in the 90s. It deserves all the accolades it receives. It's essential. ✌
Thank you! I really enjoy making these little videos and hopefully adding something to the vinyl community. I think a lot of us were introduced to Jazz, thanks to Miles. You're absolutely right. It definitely deserves its place in history.
I had the K-Tel "Music Machine" on 8-track as a kid. It was one of the first K-Tels I had. I was late on "Bat Out Of Hell" and didn't really hear it until the early 90's. That Motely Crue was pretty much my introduction to 80's metal, too. I remember seeing "Looks That Kill" on Friday Night Videos and it was the loudest video I'd seen at that point. (Yes, I could see the loudness!) "Rumours" seems to be THE album that has been passed down to the new generation, even overshadowing The Beatles.
K-Tel was the beginning! I forgot about the video for "Looks That Kill". That whole thing (Music, Videos and image) made me a little metal head teenager. I couldn't believe that "Rumours" was on the top selling records of 2023. Although I totally believe it to be a great album.
Nice list ... miles is bananas ... love so much fo his work floyd ... van halen ... otis nin ... downward, for me thelonious monk billie holiday so so sooooo many ... I don't think i could do the top 10 - lol
Absolutely, as a kid, you could get all the songs on the radio for not a lot of money. My first record player didn't sound great anyway, so the trade-off for sound quality wasn't even a thought.

It is much harder than it sounds... but it was a fun exercise and another way to go through my collection.
That NIN is killer, esp an OG? NICE!
Thanks! It's one of my favorites in my collection!
I also started with KTel, 20 it’s for $3, what more could you ask for.
