@@witcherai3919no because theoretically you’re using the same amount of sprinklers. Instead of using the two sprinklers for the 2X2 you can use one for the 2X2 and it will still be sustainable. So you could use that other sprinkler for another 2X2
15 doesn't divide by four evenly, so there's 3ml wasted water from the sprinklers in this set up. Strongly consider slightly expanding this to two floors of 2x3 planter boxes. You can still get the job done with 2 sprinklers and two ceiling lights for each floor. With fresh water, you'd only need one water pump, but the two from this video would be enough for a purifier set up. Well done.

I mean the devision system made sense. Split 15 by 4, you will get 3,.. the decimals are the water that goes to waste because rust won't round the decimals up because that would create water from nothing basically. Instead what they've done is just include the decimals so now the sprinklers will give exactly 15/4 or 15/(amount of planters)@@randyjackson776
I built it to see cost, approximately: 13,000 Stone 6,000 Wood 4,500 Metal Fragments 20 HQM (not including tools) 14 Gears 20 Cloth 4 Tech Trash 16 Tarp Upkeep should be around: 1,700 Stone 350 Metal Fragments I also see a flaw in the design as there is no need for the switch, the power can go from the power to the first Electrical Branch, and then add another branch to connect your 2 ceiling lights. Also, 4 sprinklers is Overkill, only 2 are needed to get 3ml of water per 10 seconds, which is a liveable amount of water for any crop despite the genetics.
Switch and sprinklers personal preference. You might want to turn all the electricity off in random scenarios. Since it can afford 4 sprinklers i like to use them because you fill up the planters faster so if you don’t want to keep your sprinklers on 24/7 you can fill them up faster and then turn them off for a while.

Is there any way to increase water output from the purifier? It's giving me 12, but I wanted to have 4 sprinklers on each level. (My pumpkins can't seem to grow with only 2)

Neat base layout, i like to have an extra water barrel somewhere because the purifier doesnt provide much of a buffer when you run a larger operation. Did you ever run low on water with this setup?
No, this setup will always supply water so you can have it running 24/7. I intentionally designed it like this. And ofcourse you could expand say a third floor but then you wouldn’t have an endless supply of water.
Sounds very weird and like a bug. try rewiring sprinklers/replacing them. If it doesn't work try building it on a sandbox server and try it out there because it should work to 100%
This farm base is great, self sufficient and amazing. One thing you can do is add a boat room on the backside next to the wall all the electrical stuff is ran on and boom you can use it for rigs and cargo as well 👍🏽
Not familiar with heaters in farms but try placing them on the surrounding walls I don't know if 1 heater will cover all 4 planters however just try it out and you'll see if plants get more heat happiness. And power should still be enough for 2-4 more heaters.
You can always have it on but some plants don't like too much water. I think if you have full planters with 9000ml of water with god hemp/berry clones their happiness will reach a maximum of ~75% (something like that)
If you've done everything i've done it should be working :p If it says requires pump your pump is probably not on / does not have power. Your fluid switch acts as a pump therefor it needs power to function. And wire top sprinklers first, then bottom ones.@@kylebrahhh7705
Does it not exist? It can be because of lookatradious that its hard to see the input at certain angles. Try repositioning yourself or change lookatradius in f1 console with this command: client.lookatradius Default is around client.lookatradius 0.15 And you can try lowering it for a more precise lookatradius or highering it for a more wide range of lookatradius.
Means they don't get enough power.. Did you face solar panels facing the right direction. And did you wire them up all together to the battery using a combiner? Redo wiring for your battery

you most likely wired the bottom ones before you wired the top ones. if you look in the video you'll see i noted it. Water can't go up without a pump that's why you have to wire the top ones first so it will flow down.
It can be tricky if youre looking at it at certain angles. Try changing your lookatradius or replacing the branch somewhere else. Otherwise just follow the steps in the video and it should work👍
Hey I’m playing from console here, when I turn the water pump on there’s no water in the powered purifier but when I turn it off it’s full. Likewise water won’t come out of the sprinklers. Any clue what I did wrong?
I’m not sure how the purifier gets full when the power is turned off? Could be console bug. Just rewatch what i did and do it step by step, if you follow exactly what i did it should work. I didnt cut anything out so go back and redo

idk if u dont put walls someone might think its a 2x2 without honeycomb and just raid it if they see its a farm they might not bother raiding + if they do raid its atleast 7 rockets to lootroom and more if u want to get to tc so it's really not worth either way
@@Gilbert96a lot of people keep clones and berries in farm bases. I take that gamble regularly. Its easier to raid someone for clones then make them, especially when you're playing with a team

Not enough power. Make sure you connect all solar panels to the battery. It should be enough with like 2 solar panels tbh. You always gotta make sure the power in to the battery is greater than the power usage of the battery. And if u use solar panels remember they don’t work @ night

people forget how broken the bucket is, i used to work so much to make a water cool system, then i realized build near a river get a bucket and ur planterboxes are filled with water within seconds
You can up it a notch and get water jugs, find them or buy them from bandit/outpost for like 5 scrap. 5000 ML of water in 1 go. So fill a planter in 2 runs.
It doesn't hold water? What do you mean by that? I'll just write the wiring here to make sure you did it correctly. Water pump 2x -> combiner -> input of water purifier. the water purifier needs power to run aswell. Water should be taken in the purifier and converted to normal water which you'll see in the right barrel.
only thing im doing different is ill use the water pump side as my jump up so the tc has more doors in the way also if you put your water supply higher then the sprinklers then you dont need to power the fluid switch. the power from the water pump can pump to the purifier on the roof then you can flow that back to sprinklers

1 or 2 reasons. 1. The water level fluctuates and it might be too shallow at one point. 2. You don't place them correctly. It can be tricky placing them and you need to do it from certain angles. However it's most likely n1 reason.
Why windows? Are you aware they can actually slow down growth? If there is sunlight hitting a planter the game will give it a light rating based on the sun even if there is an electrical light too. This means the electrical light source only takes over when the sun is completely down. During sunrise and set you will have less than 100%. Is is certainly a bug, but I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon.

Water and electricity isn't complex unless you have 0 idea how it works irl.. Pump provides water, solar panel provides electricity, branches branch out power etc. Output goes to input. It's rather simple and I show you how to connect everything and by that you should be able to understand how it works@@drza

I had to change the last branch to 4 in order for the ceiling light on 2nd floor to come on... Is that how it is suppose to be?
No you only need the default of 2 power to power 2 ceiling lights. 1 for each.
@@Gilbert96 But ceiling lights are 2 power each... When the branch is on 2, only 1 works, switch it to 4, the 2nd comes on.

it means that it requires the fluid switch(pump) to work. Basically the fluid switch works as a pump and pumps the water in to the sprinklers.

It should. Sometimes outputs and imputs are weird. Try looking at it from different angles and try replacing it etc untill you find it

I’ve never seen this ever in my 5000 hours. If you have a ceiling light over 4 planters it will give them a constant of 100% light
