I guess I don't regret having bought the Sigma 56 mm two years ago :D
I don't find myself picking the 56 mm that often, but everytime I do, I regret not taking it more often as the photos look so good everytime XD
I will keep holding out for an APS-C Viltrox Pro f1.2 50mm for Sony E-mount. Viltrox, make it happen!
This. I just hope it’s smaller than the 27 and 75.
@@ArthurR The 27mm should have been smaller given the difference in focal length between the 75mm
@@ArthurR Considering Viltrox built it as an f1.2, it would be difficult to shrink the size while maintaining that aperture. If Viltrox had a smaller f1.8 version of the 27 and 75, I'd straight up buy it!
They will most likely do a 40mm 1.2, so all their 3 lenses are a bit more punched in than 23, 33 and 56. Paired with the 1.2 instead of 1.4 you get a full frame look, that's the strategy behind the Pro line for APSC, sacrifice a bit of wide angle and weight to get that special look for portraits.
A 40mm/1.2 would be awesome for me as 40mm is a focal length I love for street photography. I considered getting the little Sony 40mm/2.5, but as I'm shooting a lot at night, f/2.5 on APS-C wouldn't be exactly overwhelming. 40/1.2 or 45/1.2 would be my dream lens.
I just bought a used Viltrox 56mm f1.4 few days ago for $100 cash.
I may investigate this lens, assuming we don't get the $ price + 50% that seems to be very common in the UK recently!
this is great for my FX30! Thanks!
I want to say I just got my Meke 55mm F1.4 from Amazon, which by the way I got during the Amazon sale for $159.00 us!!! I love it!! its much much better then the Sony 50mm F1.8 the one thing I have noticed is even though I select a manual F stop with the ring on the lens the camera still sometimes overides it depending on the camera setting I am in!
Yay! San Antonio!!!!! Gorgeous pics in this city.
Downtown area has a lot to photograph!
Very nice review as always 🌟
Hopefully they can fix the AF issues with a firmware update.
Mine has upgraded to the latest version and found no issues with AF speed and accuracy.
I am also a user of this lens, currently the auto focus effectiveness is excellent, and image is sharp with almost no CA, maybe you should get the lens upgraded to the latest version.
Straight to the point, looks pretty good for the money. We tech nerds see the differences, would anyone else? Not sure. Did you ever stop down to 1.8 or 2 to see how the bokeh balls change? Would be interesting to see if they are better than on the Viltrox/TTA at 1.7/1.8.
One thing, the spec sheet says the lens is 288g, you said 388g, probably a little mistake that is worth knowing for people interested, the lens is under 300g, so not really heavy at all, just a bit bigger than the Sigma.
please review ttartisan af 56mm f1.8 sony, i look forward to video. Thank you
The glossy plastic on the front of the lens is a deal breaker for me. I don't understand the decision behind this since it makes this lens look like a kid's toy.
Thankfully, function is always 100% more important. Especially when aiming for bang per buck on a limited budget. Personally, I'm not worried about a lens looking like a toy or what others think of my lenses.
@@Demios101 Yeah. "deal breaker" is crazy
@@Demios101 I completely agree with you on the topic of function over form. But currently, there are plenty of affordable prime lens options with comparable performance. Hence my choice will be towards the ones with better build and a more pleasing look since I'll be the one holding & looking at it all the time.
For me,that means the Sigma which I have owned for some. @@shtechvn
@@shtechvnyou mean the Viltrox and TTA? I mean 1.4 and 1.7/1.8 is a difference for portraits and low light, and you get an aperture ring and AF/MF switch here. Little glossy plastic part wouldn't be my first worry, but each to their own
Honestly not a bad price for an AF lens that also has an aperture ring!
I love my Sigma 56mm, though due to your other video the Viltrox 75 f1.2 seems tempting
How does this lens perform in comparison to TTArtisan 56mm/f1.8?
This or the ttartisan or the viltrox?
As always very informative and to the point review. I think it is a better lens when we see value for money. I am Habtamu from Ethiopia
Will you be reviewing the ttartisan 56 mm 1.8 af
Should be getting one soon to review, yes.
Can you do ttartisan 56mm as well?
I bought this lens a week ago. They changed the front plastic to a more metallic look. The glossy part has been replaced with the same material where the af/mf part is
Edit: the AF is on par as the 30mm sigma
En ese rango excluyendo el propio sigma, me quedo con el ttartisans 56 f1.8 por apariencia, el boked y otras cosas más, aunque el enfoque es mas lento, puede ser mas preciso. Saludos
Meike 55mm 1.4 or TTArtisan 56mm 1.8?
Which is better?
which one has better image quality? this Meike 55mm f1.4 or Meike 50mm f1.8 ? for APS-C camera
WEATHER SEALED WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
How this Meike 55mm compare to Ttartisan 56mm f1.8 in term of auto focus?
Meike is pronounced as "may" "ker", it means beautiful tech.
AF is the most important thing. It's a deal breaker for me.
I wish they fix it as soon as possible or may be in the next model
Is that the correct pronunciation for the brand name? I always used the Chinese pronunciation (may-kuh).
You’re probably right, I’ll fix it in the next one.
@@ArthurR I am surprised most of the Chinese companies don’t share the pronunciation when sending out their products. I’ve also heard ZhiYun and SiRui pronounced a half dozen different ways each on different reviews.
Might be because for the end user it's easier to pronounce the brand adjusted to their own language. Most users wouldn't like to be teach how to pronounce a brand name

I guess no one likes the Sony E 50mm F/1.8 oss. Shame
I have that one Sony 50mm 1.8 and very happy.
