With a stupid tiny turbo charged engine, and all the toys, because your to lazy to move a seat with your hand, or roll down a window, oh wait, it comes with power windows,...STANDARD! Unfortunately.
With a $500 month payments on that Kia? Well..some people don't judge their worth by the car they drive. Grow up. The same financial problem from a decade ago, is coming again, and GM is starting it off, so enjoy that $40K car, get it paid off!!!@@rafaelrjarquin

I own this car hatchback and I do not recognise the review. To me it is fast enough, very economical, ultra reliable, reasonably comfortable, very spaceious for the size and the feel of the most important items is very high quality (steer, indicator, knobs). Also the automatic climate control is the best I ever had (cc is more accurate and comfy than Mercedes Benz, VW, Skoda and Ford). I never go so fast around corners that the car is tilting. I do not mind hard plastics, they all look the same. All for a very good price. Yes it is ugly, yes, the engine is not sporty, yes, the steering is without feeling (but precise). I noticed that before buying and don't mind. I am very satisfied with the car. It does what it promises and even better than that.

It's funny because these cars sell like hotcakes in Australia and some 3rd world countries. Mitsubishi is targeting the poor who just wanted a cheap, better-than-public-transport, brand new car just to go around cities and upgrade their social status. It might not meet the American standards but this is a great point A/B car. Unfortunately, I own one - but I like it so much. Fun little car. Not for the faint hearted though lol

I bought a 2017 hatchback, and I love this car. The seats are one of the best I've sat in after owning a Lexus RX 350 that I traded in. I get 45 to 50 MPG out of this car. I paid 11K out the door for it. I got a manual transmission and couldn't take a CVT in a low power car like this. I only spend 12-15 bucks to fill this car up. It only holds about eight gallons. It's been a great car for the money. I had three six footers in this car and everyone still had plenty of head room and leg room. I think if you put this car in it's place that it is a cheap a-b commuter, you will be very happy with this car.
Consumer satisfaction for this car is higher than expected as well. If you need a cheap a-b that gets great mileage, look no further.

Yes, but thats because they put their budget in things like a timing chain, quality belts, and bulletproof engines that can run over 200k trouble free miles. There's a reason you see alot of 90's era Mitsus still on the road. They might look run down as hell, but theyre still running!

Also, if fuel economy is a concern, which it usually is in this segment.. the Mazda "might" get 37-40 MPG. The Mirage? 42-55 Plus. I would chose the Mirage. It has more space, better warranty, less expensive in the real world with discounts.

I love how people call these cars junk yet owners of the Mirage 2014-2018 love them? Odd. And they have far and few issues to report and no major ones. I have owned 2 now and no issues to speak of. I listen to the owners who drive these cars day in and day out for years not someone who drives it for a few hours or a few days and tells you its a bad car. I call a bad car a Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta and Nissan Versa that are plagued with issues with transmissions and have super low owner satisfaction scores for reliability and cant match the Mirages warranty. I will have a Warranty for 10 years and likely never need to use but if I do its there. Mitsubishis are very reliable even though Consumer Reports rags on Mitsubishi even they have to bit the bullet and say they are reliable. Also the Lancer one the most reliable car in the USA over a span of how many years. Its all in preference, I always purchased new Hyundais and Kias and was happy with them but we made the switch to Mitsubishi in 2015 and ai am so glad we did. Since we have bought a 2015 Mirage ES, 2016 Outlander Sport GT, 2017 Mirage G4 SE (still own the latter 2) we couldn’t be happier with their reliability, features, MPG, and dealer service at Five Star Mitsubishi for service. Great car Brand that is growing very fast in the USA if you do research.

I'd be willing to buy one of these today if it had even less high tech gadgets than it does and cost even less. For $15,000+ I agree that there are probably better choices though.

I recently just test drove a 2017 Chevy Spark 2 LT and a 2018 Nissan Versa SV (stopped making top trim SL for 2018). I still am glad I purchased my 2017 Mirage G4 SE over these 2 choices. First off my top trim Mirage G4
had an MSRP of 18,115.00 but with dealer discounts and rebates I got mine for $12,714.00 (reviews never mention the huge discounts Mitsu gives). The Spark 2LT comes pretty similarly equipped to mine but is way smaller inside. The trunk was tinny tiny and my knees were digging into the front seats when I sat in the back and I am 5’11”. Plus the door panels looked cheap in the Spark front and rear. My Mirage G4 SE has the 2 tone Light Gray and Black interior with Piano Black Accents and really blends the interior together well. Now the Spark came with Leatherette Seats but they felt like Rubber and only had 1 setting for the heated seats where my car has Hi and Low (they kick ass heat wise). The best they could give price wise on the Spark 2 LT with discounts and rebates was $14,800.00. The Mirage and Mirage G4 have earned a reputation for being reliable, having great owner satisfaction and getting MPG numbers well over the sticker rating (by the way the Mirage and Mirage G4 out do the Spark on MPGs). The Spark is a nice car if you want a small hatchback but it only seats 4, has had reliability issues over the years, has lower MPG numbers, and fewer features if you compare the 2018 Spark LS to 2018 Mirage ES.
Now the Versa and Mirage G4 came in more similar in my experience. Especially in interior room and trunk space. The Mirage G4 has slightly more rear seat room like a half inch more if you compare on Nissan and Mitsubishis pages. The trunk in the Versa is a bit bigger though by a cub or 2. Styling wise on the exterior I prefer the Mirage and Mirage G4 as it looks fresher and less frumpy. The Versa has a really long ass end from the side. Plus the alloys on the Versa did not look as sharp as my G4s dark Titanium alloys (also the GT Mirage hatch has really nice 2 tone alloys). Once again the Mirage beats the Versa on MPG numbers and owner satisfaction. The Versa has pretty low owner satisfaction and Nissan has had transmission issues over the years with their CVTs. The 2018 Nissan Versa I drove had a MSRP of $17,190.00 so it undercut the MSRP on my G4 SE but did not have apple car play, heated seats, auto dimming rearview mirror with home link, push start, keyless access, (did have keyless entry), automatic climate control and many other features that my G4 has it did not. But in the end it was marked down to $13,890.00 and my G4 SE was $12,714.00 so once again Mitsubishi came in cheaper. As far as driving they drove very similar in my experience and I liked the Versa and its driving style but just prefer the looks inside and out of my Mirage G4 SE. If you look around at Mitsubishi dealers you never pay sticker for a Mirage and can regularly get base model Mirages for $10,000.00 and top trim ones for $13,000.00 so it is almost always the best deal on price, features per dollar, reliability, warranty, 5 yr unlimited roadside assistance, room (G4), and MPG. Sure this Mirage in the video has a high sticker price, so did mine, higher than this one and I paid under $13k so just remember that. These are great little cars go take a look!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this informative and humorous video review! I am looking for a new-to-me used car, and gas mileage is super important to me. I don't have a garage, or I'd be looking at an electric car. But I saw the great gas mileage of this vehicle, and I was intrigued. Now after watching this, I know it's not the right car for me. I live in Pittsburgh, and I need POWER to accelerate to get onto the highway. The lack of power would drive me crazy! THANKS FOR THE SCOOP! Love your sense of humor, too. You made the video fun to watch. Keep up the great work.

The prices in this video are so off it's almost scary. Mitsubishi has been, and will continue to, offer considerably lower prices at the dealership, like thousands of dollars less. I've yet to see this car go above $13000.00 fully trimmed out anywhere near where I live, and even further away. Plus the CVT is matched awfully to this car, the manual is the far better choice here. The part where he says that it didn't accelerate when going uphill could have easily been eliminated by simply downshifting with said manual.....a car with such a small engine simply was not meant for any type of automatic, ask any old Sprint owner about that one(I'm one...). Lastly, this has proven to be a rock solid car as well, very, very reliable, unlike the Nissan Versa and Ford Fiesta which are plagued with some serious issues. I'd rather take reliable and solid to in the shop constantly any day of the week. Perspective folks.

In Australia and Thailand this car sells for around $10,000 USD and is the cheapest Japanese car you can buy. That is supposed to be the one thing going for it. It is not supposed to be in the Honda fit price range which starts at around $15,000 USD in Australia.

You get what you pay for. For 10,000 dollars, this is a great car. Of course if you compared it to a Mercedes or even a domestic full size sedan, you won't find anything admirable. the only caveat to that is you can buy 3 of these for the cheapest trims of the others.

Well for what you're paying for you do get decent amount of features. It does 45mpg easily and has 4 doors, a roof, trunk, seats 5 and basic necessities of a car in a 1st world nation.
Our standards of the automobile have risen over time, but so did average car prices. The Mirage begs to differ. In that regard of it can get a family of 5 living on rental property and food banks around to school, supermarket and work, that I can at least appreciate.
