    I’ve been a butcher for 25 years and also worked with seafood and I use a serrated knife to cut salmon steaks and it may work good for carp for bait. A good serrated knife will cut right through the bones.

  • @bobschlotterfishing2678
    @bobschlotterfishing2678 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question. So your pack bait is Panko bread crumbs, strawberry jello and corn, do you add water to make it moist? Never fished for carp but.... my local creek here in Missouri has a good amount of them. i see them all the time kayak fishing for small mouth bass and would like to try to fish for them as well once in a while.

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the time, the juice from the can of corn is enough to wet it with. Sometimes I do have to add a little river water if it isn’t moist enough.

    We have like a carp overload up here in Nebr. When their spawning you can grab a bow and I have blasted some huge carp. You can fill a boat, proublem is you get this big hole in the side of them. But people here are so glad to get em thinned out if the lakes here it isnt hard to fill 50 gal drums full of them. Now in some states you have these jumping carp that seem dangerous to get smacked by a carp while boating. Do you have any if those where your at.?

    • @KayakCatfish

      I have 8’ poles but because the mount is several inches above the water line and they have to drive down into the bottom, you can only anchor in about 5.5-6ft depths max. Are they worth buying? They were for me but it really just depends on how you fish.
