locally , in Israel , depending what I aim to photograph - if it's a classic car meet , then the 70-200 f 2.8 stays at home , and I take my TWO remaining lenses ( AWESOME Nikon 18-140 kit lens , my Sigma 10-20 ultra-wide zoom ), and two Nikon D 7000 series bodies with me . If it's a local holiday ( to Eilat ) or even a trip to the beach at Ashdod , I pack the 70-200 in my 24 year old Lowepro mini-trekker backpack , along with my other two aforementioned lenses . If its a holiday abroad (outside Israel ) same gear as car meet ( + SINGLE SB 700 flash) because folk like me fly economy/coach, and our baggage allowance is next to nothing . Fun fact - I actually have more camera bags than camera bodies , so that I don't have to rip out the camera bag dividers , I just rotate the gear to the appropriate bag /backpack
Great tips, thank you. With all of the countless photo channels here on TH-cam. It is plenty difficult to get real world working photographer information. I just don’t need to watch another slo-mo coffee making montage! Again thank you.
A lot of great tips here. I want to ask about the first: packing in those fold up wraps. How do you access your gear as you need it, out in the field or city, once you have arrived at the location?
Hey Joe, I’m traveling to The Philippines for two week for vacation and perhaps some photoshoots and wanted to bring some gear. I’ve decided to bring one long glass and one wide glass. I have two B10 plus, one B10 and three A10’s I can’t bring everything, what combination would be good to take.?
How do you recommend screening fixers? As a female photographer, I worry about safety. Also, do you check the equipment bags or are they carry-ons? Thanks!
Actually, those diaper wraps can take up lots of space themselves, but then I suppose you have a large inventory of gear bags, as what you displayed cannot fit into a single bag. While you are involved for being a photographer for a well known magazine, most of us are not at your level for trip these kinds of assignments, but for a simple hike on the countryside. A Think Tank back bags or roller bags are perfect, and the dividers are very configurable that can leave room to spare with a diaper wrap here and there for the smaller items, even additional cushioning for extra gear protection. Good video, but a bit of an overkill for us little guys.
For the non-professional or say if you are just doing this for enjoyment. For doing a specific landscape photography trip what would you pack for that?
I used to pack my bags "Daiper" style but found it difficult to get to it quickly without having an accident. Today I just work out the gear I need and then pick the bags of the right size to fit it in...🦘

Tip #6. Pack Pesto Bismol and Immodium.

Amazing tips, Joe! and I love all those National Geographic covers all framed up! Didn't realize they'd make such amazing wall decor 😁

I really like my 14-24. Great lens. I leave the dividers in, though. Some good ideas here even though I don't carry nearly as much stuff.
Good infomercial, thank you!
Thanks, Joe!

Go wide - get tight!! (35mm 1.4 ART & 150-600mm Contemporary attached to my 70D APS-C) Sounds like I've got the right idea...so far!! (?)

6 month waiting from b&h full fill my order with the Nikon Z9, and this dude already has two of them …
The answer is simple….it’s in his introduction: Nikon Ambassador
Check smaller camera stores. They are out there.

We got too much stuff, not good for thee planet, good tips thanks, we want more stuff!☺️
Would you consider doing a video on street photography using a smart phone?
Hmmm... maybe if I ever win a lottery I can afford those toys :)
I use Nikon exclusively
Joe, those tips have stayed the same for 20 years 😂😂😂, they must be good ones!
👍🏾🙏🏾
It's more like what to pack, not how to pack :)
