How To Make an Origami Flapping Bird - EASY step by step!

- How to make an origami flapping bird out of paper. This is very similar to the origami crane, but you can make the wings flap by pulling the tail. It is fairly simple to make and very fun!
I try to go at a slow pace, but keep in mind you can pause, or slow down the video speed in the settings.

Thanks man, I made the bird and tried to make it flap. It did not work.....at first. I was trying to pull the tail the wrong way, but I watched the end of the video and you said pull it up. At first it did not want to work but I was persistent and kept tugging at it and it started flapping. This really does work, you just have to be patient. Thank you. It is a great project to do when you are bored. Also, all the people who say it doesn't work, then just keep trying to pull the tail up gently, and you will get it.

The sticky part could cause it not too flap
For the sticky note I did it aswell but use a rubber to rub off the sticky part:) mine flaps wells so just a tip :)

When I try to pull the tail, the whole thing almost comes apart... it does flap a little, but not as much as it does in the video.

My heart dropped when I applied some force in pulling the flap and I thought that it was gonna rip apart, but it didn't. And I am happy of how it turned out.

the type of paper makes a differnce...it works well with printer paper...i made 2-1 using printer paper, and the other using mainlla. the manilla one didnt flap but the other did.

This was my first origami and this is an absolutely AMAZING tutorial. Perfect pace. Clearly showed how to make the folds. Nothing too intricate and very simple. It looks beautiful and it's so fun to see the wings move!

having anger issues and being dumb as a rock i sobbed and raged during this video. So i ripped mine to shreds and I hate this- though your great at making tutorials im not trying to hate its just that like by the third step i quit, i just wanting to make one for my mom 'cause she's always working and I thought she would appreciate it. 😭
At first, I made the bird and the wings didn't flap but I realised that it only worked when I pushed the tail forwards, towards the rest of the body

This video is honestly amazinggggg! I am terrible at origami and have tried a million "just for beginners" and "step-by-step" origami videos but always end up with a flop. But with this one, I actually made a beautifully flapping crane! I am so proud of myself.... So simple and clear with each step and easy to follow. Thank you!
I sank down when i pulled the flap and it dint work then i pulled it with more force. I tore the part where the tail and the wings r joined. It does not flap but is a normal origami now.

Hiii it’s 3:50am right now and I wanted to do something with the regular paper I just had laying around so I decided to follow your crane video. After I finished that one I came to this one and I have to say I’m pretty proud of myself for it being almost 4am and having the wings actually flap (this was my first time too :D)

It depends on the paper, i used normal thin paper and it works perfectly.
