My guess is that Reginald chose to form a different team after seeing how dysfunctional his original turned out. Plus he would know that all their names and faces are now etched in history associated with the 1963 JFK assassination. So why choose the same dysfunctional kids that will grow up to have the same names and faces as wanted criminals from 50 years ago? Overall lowkey smart to pick a new team
Yes I agree with that theory but also I don’t think this new team are heroes I think they’re more on the villainess side because since Diego told grace about Reginald and she left him he’s more darker and gloomier than he was before so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re not heroes and judging by “ben’s” emo haircut reginalds dark and gloomy attitude had an affect on the him and the other sparrow kids
But how would he know which kids he originally adopted? They didn’t have names when they were born and I’m fairly sure that they didn’t tell him where they were born. It’s not known if they themselves even know where they were born. I suppose it is possible that the kids are the same but Reginald raised them differently and under a different name, but that’s gotta be pretty shit to edit in lol

Yeah I just watched an interview with the cast mates and one of them said that, Hargreeves viewed/veiws them is obsolete based on their impression on him in the 60s, so he gathered an "A team" that works well together as a cause for learning from his "mistakes" and "correcting" them. But boy did he make a mistake LOL. Their dysfunction, trials tribulations, and tough childhood is what makes them stronger together now than anything Hargreeves could force upon the sparrows. I have a feeling that Hargreeves isn't a terrible person and everything he's doing has a purpose and is planned out to a T.
Yea, I always thought he was using some curveball technique on his knives every time before. Him flipping through the bullets was a clue, but it was so visually chaotic and hard to tell what exactly was happening.
My guess is that Harlan ended up using his powers between when we last saw him and the time the Umbrella Academy was born. Knowing how Vanya's powers work, I feel as if he dubbed himself "The Sparrow." He probably ended up sacrificing himself for Hargreeves or something that inspired him to name his Academy after him once they were born. Or, if you want to take a bit of a more intricate route, Hargreeves probably ended up recruiting him for the Academy and he was the one that died, not Ben, so Hargreeves renamed it the Sparrow Academy to commemorate him
Who knows? Maybe since the Academy looks younger, Hargreeves ended up taking him in so he could train him to use his abilities and once Harlan died, that's when the current Academy was born. I'm just kinda spit-balling a bit, I mean I feel as if the whole toy that Harlan had will play into it heavily
he might still be alive in the new timeline. Because there´s no 2019 apocalipse, him and Agnes might not have used the briefcase to live a life in another time, instead choosing to do it in the present.

I actually really like the handler as a character in terms of her complexity and development. She’s cool and funny and bold and she’s really interesting. But, as a human being, she sucks lol.
My mind is wandering with so many questions and thoughts: 1) will sparrow academy be friend or foe? 2) Does Grace stay alive in this new timeline? Will she remain the role as mother? 3) What part does Lila have in season 3, assuming she will have a role? I dont think she is a part of sparrow academy since her powers don't align with the characters in the comic book 4) The Handler SOMEHOW keeps staying alive so will we see her again in season 3 for SOME reason? (Edit: i think handler was revived by Harlan.. we see her trying to convince harlan in the barn to come with her but we never see his answer or the aftermath. She just shows up to shoot the umbrella academy dead, but after Five rewinds time to save his family and the handler is shot up by sweden man, she is now dead. My take is that Sparrow academy is most definitely foe, I think future Reginald is much darker now and seemed way more hostile in the last scene, I think its because Diego made Grace leave him, and its shown grace meant alot to him, she probably impacted him to be more humane, and in the first timeline I dont believe Hargreeves killed the magnificent 12 but I guess since he was so angry with the whole Grace thing he did and it's never shown that he killed someone so we gotta assume it's a new trait, and cmon look at emo/scarred Ben that screams "Alternate universe evil doppelganger"
I just realised unlike the others, Klaus is constantly using his powers to keep Ben there. I feel like his powers could potentially then become the most powerful just because he’s had so much experience using them. And now that ghost Ben is gone who knows what else he could tap into.
Until you realize that Vanya sent a concentrated blast of sound, faster than sound can actually travel, to reach and destroy the moon in seconds...Nothing says OP like being able to make something move faster than is actually possible...
Marijn Rasing yea I feel like in this story we really shouldn’t compare their power I like how they’re all unique and they all have a counter for the other. Vanya can blow up the world but Five can go back in time. Luther does have the strength to crush Diego but Diego has better combat skills.
Everything about this season was AMAZING, as usual. However, I really don't like how Lila can mirror all their powers. It just kind of takes away the importance and impressiveness of all the main characters powers :/

Hate to say it, but with how COVID is going, it'll probably be 2022. It sucks because I also ended up bingeing The Kominsky Method recently and this all started shortly after their recent season released. At least with them releasing this in the middle of it all, the wait will seem shorter

@@elvia9947 they aren't as insignificant as others may think. Sissy and Harlen literally are the very foundation of Vanya's new found self/confidence and all. They are one of the major reasons why Vanya grow as well as her siblings with their own experiences during the time they were alone and away from each other.

On a whole other note, I thought they had already revealed that Reginald was an alien in season one when it showed the the flash back of him on a place that did not look like earth.
I mean not only that but Vanya is a wanted "criminal" in 1963 for her supposed involvement with the KGB and Russia, as well as the murder of several FBI agents, inadvertently giving Harlan her powers (or at least part of them, since she seems to be akin to some sort of god in terms of power apparently she can do that), falling in love and telling people in the past about the future, killing every single one of the Commission's field agents in a single blow, and on top of that, meeting her father again in the past with her family. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who messed up most of it ngl, great character played by phenomenal actress don't get me wrong but I mean she doesn't exactly have a good track record (Edit: A word)
I was thinking if this new timeline is a multiverse it means Their other selves are still out there roaming right?, I think this is the handler's biggest fear in Season 1 that's why she told five that, That apocalypse is need to be done. But there's our wonderboy who can travel through time and mess everything up.

SPOILERS : My idea is that since they meet in 1960-ish he knew they would have to come back at some point so he adopted different kids so that when they got back they would have a massive group. And Ben fits into being in both because at the Tiki lounge they said one of us is dead but he never got to see him so he accidentally adopted one of the same kids. Also, It was SOOOOO sad when bed said I miss you guys Also Also if you look at the promo picture in each of there glasses they have the reflection of what they want and most are normal and nice/happy but then in Ben's you see the other 6 it made me sooo sad

(Like truly dead) 5) What will the plot be of season 3? Since they've stopped the apocalypse and Vanya was able to control her powers better now. Will they still go back in time (again) to change what they've made? 6) Will the other timeline of the Umbrella Academy with the older Five show or be relevant in season 3? 7) The scene where Diego stops the bullets mid air, are his powers controlling metal? Thus why he is good at manipulating knives? 8) What are Lila's powers? Mirroring? Or does she just have all of the powers of the Umbrella Academy? 9) What will happen to the husband of Allison and Sissy? Will they meet again? 10) The scene where Harlan was making his toy float even after Vanya removed what she gave him, does Harlan still become relevant for season 3? 11) Lastly, when is season 3??

I think Diego's power is that he can manipulate flying objects and not metal manipulation. This proven when he can change trajectory of his flying knives and stop bullets but he can't move stationary objects like the tractor that trap his foot
I feel that because of the problems between Hardgreeves and the 12 he will have to change image, and that's why he chose the Sparrow instead of the Umbrella
They did so much to the timeline it wasn’t surprising that that was the ending, I was expecting it😂, there was no way everything would go back to normal.
Honestly, I think when five told Reginald that five was hard on him as a kid, that led to some minor components of the creation of the sparrow academy. When we see Ben, he looks messy , unhygienic and he also swears, which are two things that Hargreeves disallowed in the umbrella academy. It is possible that seeing them Reggie felt remorse for what he did and became more lenient in his teachings, even possibly letting the crew find their true potential sooner.
Five created an alternate timeline after going back to 1963. The small differences they made were sort of the foundation for the new timeline. Due to them altering the timeline they no longer belong in any of the timelines; that is 1963 or 2019. So im guessing Hargreeves went ahead and adopted another squad since the original Umbrella Academy was not present. What beats me tho is how Ben is in the new timeline?
Past Hargreaves was only told that one of them died,not Ben's name or powers,and he had no idea what he looked like,so knowing the rest of them were (to him) failures, he recruited different kids,though he kept Ben cause he didn't know about him.
I love how their powers evolved. Although the first six episodes were pretty slow, I really enjoyed the last 4 episodes. I think they did good this season considering that.
I think your forgetting that Diego made Grace and professor Hargreaves break up, which would not have happened if Diego didn't tell Grace about the JFK assasination.
My guess is that when we seen Harlen still had his powers in the last episode he turned mad since Vanya was gone. He was also seen spinning a bird. Maybe he found Reginald before the 43 children were born and formed an academy of their own and called it the sparrow academy.

I have a theory of how The Umbrella Academy is still existing in 2019. I'm pretty sure it's just like how time remnants work in The Flash. They get the time remnant from the second before they run back, changing the timeline and making a new universe, therefore the multiverse. The Umbrella Academy is basically the time remnant of The Sparrow Academy. I also have some questions. How would Reginalds know which baby is which if they are all babies. He wouldn't be able to tell them apart to make a different team. Also, where did he get the idea to name it The Sparrow Academy if he moved to buy the Umbrella store before he found the babies?

Klaus is pissing me off. Why won’t he just tell his siblings that he sees Ben every time and that he is with him always? I know they’d love to hear that Ben is just with them. What is up with Klaus huh? Could someone explain?
To be fair, they all knew, he didn't say it outright but they all knew Ben was really with him and heard him talking to him constantly, and you can't even put it all on Klaus. Ben showed many times to be able to force Klaus's powers, like he could conjure himself to an extent, he forcefully possessed Klaus and his first thought was to hit on a girl and he even channeled through Klaus when he was unconscious, even talking about possessing him when he slept. I think they just didn't expect Ben's soul to die so it wasn't some huge priority.
Thats the very reason why ben is part of the Sparrow academy... since Young Reginald didnt know he was there with them in the light dinner... it seems thats the reaosn he was adopted

I think after hargreeves met the umbrella academy and saw how practically broken they were, he decided to not adopt these 7 kids in the future however, since he didn’t get to meet Ben, he adopted him up anyway
I have a theory, obviously it is a common theory, but every season in the show has been the same, based on the comic book names, the first season and book were about an apocalypse and the book is called apocalypse suite. Second season is in Dallas Texas, and the second book is called Dallas. The third book is called hotel oblivion and shows a picture of the umbrella academy building , for sure, there is going to be some problems with the sparrow academy, and there is going to be lots of fights to try and win back their home from these random people
This makes sense but if they already started giving away hints about Sparrow Academy don't you think Harlan would be involved with them. After all near the end of the last episode you see Harlan levitating a bird which is most likely pointing towards that he is in the Sparrow Academy in the near future.The six members of the new Academy may be the same people. BUT there is a chance they are all different people other then Ben. This makes sense because what if Layla goes back in time to save the Handler from her death. And then messing up the time line to make the "Sparrow Academy" . it's very unlikely that she did go back in time to save the handler from her death or maybe she went to the future to make the new team if she on it or apart of it. Its also possibly that somebody set whole this up! But until then we'll have to wait until next year to see the new season! And i love the idea of Sparrow vs Umbrella! My guess is that Reginald chose to form a different team after seeing how dysfunctional his original turned out. Plus he would know that all their names and faces are now etched in history associated with the 1963 JFK assassination. So why choose the same dysfunctional kids that will grow up to have the same names and faces as wanted criminals from 50 years ago? Overall lowkey smart to pick a new team
Yes I agree with that theory but also I don’t think this new team are heroes I think they’re more on the villainess side because since Diego told grace about Reginald and she left him he’s more darker and gloomier than he was before so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re not heroes and judging by “ben’s” emo haircut reginalds dark and gloomy attitude had an affect on the him and the other sparrow kids
But how would he know which kids he originally adopted? They didn’t have names when they were born and I’m fairly sure that they didn’t tell him where they were born. It’s not known if they themselves even know where they were born. I suppose it is possible that the kids are the same but Reginald raised them differently and under a different name, but that’s gotta be pretty shit to edit in lol

Yeah I just watched an interview with the cast mates and one of them said that, Hargreeves viewed/veiws them is obsolete based on their impression on him in the 60s, so he gathered an "A team" that works well together as a cause for learning from his "mistakes" and "correcting" them. But boy did he make a mistake LOL. Their dysfunction, trials tribulations, and tough childhood is what makes them stronger together now than anything Hargreeves could force upon the sparrows. I have a feeling that Hargreeves isn't a terrible person and everything he's doing has a purpose and is planned out to a T.

My guess is that Harlan ended up using his powers between when we last saw him and the time the Umbrella Academy was born. Knowing how Vanya's powers work, I feel as if he dubbed himself "The Sparrow." He probably ended up sacrificing himself for Hargreeves or something that inspired him to name his Academy after him once they were born. Or, if you want to take a bit of a more intricate route, Hargreeves probably ended up recruiting him for the Academy and he was the one that died, not Ben, so Hargreeves renamed it the Sparrow Academy to commemorate him
Who knows? Maybe since the Academy looks younger, Hargreeves ended up taking him in so he could train him to use his abilities and once Harlan died, that's when the current Academy was born. I'm just kinda spit-balling a bit, I mean I feel as if the whole toy that Harlan had will play into it heavily

4) The Handler SOMEHOW keeps staying alive so will we see her again in season 3 for SOME reason? (Edit: i think handler was revived by Harlan.. we see her trying to convince harlan in the barn to come with her but we never see his answer or the aftermath. She just shows up to shoot the umbrella academy dead, but after Five rewinds time to save his family and the handler is shot up by sweden man, she is now dead. We know Harlan still possesses some powers from vanya at the end scene and we know her powers can revive the dead so maybe harlan and the handler made a deal in that barn that we didnt see or know about so harlan went back to the barn where the handler was shot dead, and he revived her back???)

My take is that Sparrow academy is most definitely foe, I think future Reginald is much darker now and seemed way more hostile in the last scene, I think its because Diego made Grace leave him, and its shown grace meant alot to him, she probably impacted him to be more humane, and in the first timeline I dont believe Hargreeves killed the magnificent 12 but I guess since he was so angry with the whole Grace thing he did and it's never shown that he killed someone so we gotta assume it's a new trait, and cmon look at emo/scarred Ben that screams "Alternate universe evil doppelganger"

I just realised unlike the others, Klaus is constantly using his powers to keep Ben there. I feel like his powers could potentially then become the most powerful just because he’s had so much experience using them. And now that ghost Ben is gone who knows what else he could tap into.

Marijn Rasing yea I feel like in this story we really shouldn’t compare their power I like how they’re all unique and they all have a counter for the other. Vanya can blow up the world but Five can go back in time. Luther does have the strength to crush Diego but Diego has better combat skills.
Everything about this season was AMAZING, as usual. However, I really don't like how Lila can mirror all their powers. It just kind of takes away the importance and impressiveness of all the main characters powers :/

I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who messed up most of it ngl, great character played by phenomenal actress don't get me wrong but I mean she doesn't exactly have a good track record

Honestly, I think when five told Reginald that five was hard on him as a kid, that led to some minor components of the creation of the sparrow academy. When we see Ben, he looks messy , unhygienic and he also swears, which are two things that Hargreeves disallowed in the umbrella academy. It is possible that seeing them Reggie felt remorse for what he did and became more lenient in his teachings, even possibly letting the crew find their true potential sooner.
Actually, Lila's powers are like Hope Summers from the X-Men. She can mimick the powers of any mutant she's in close proximity to.

Five created an alternate timeline after going back to 1963. The small differences they made were sort of the foundation for the new timeline. Due to them altering the timeline they no longer belong in any of the timelines; that is 1963 or 2019. So im guessing Hargreeves went ahead and adopted another squad since the original Umbrella Academy was not present. What beats me tho is how Ben is in the new timeline?
Past Hargreaves was only told that one of them died,not Ben's name or powers,and he had no idea what he looked like,so knowing the rest of them were (to him) failures, he recruited different kids,though he kept Ben cause he didn't know about him.

I have a theory of how The Umbrella Academy is still existing in 2019. I'm pretty sure it's just like how time remnants work in The Flash. They get the time remnant from the second before they run back, changing the timeline and making a new universe, therefore the multiverse. The Umbrella Academy is basically the time remnant of The Sparrow Academy.
I also have some questions. How would Reginalds know which baby is which if they are all babies. He wouldn't be able to tell them apart to make a different team. Also, where did he get the idea to name it The Sparrow Academy if he moved to buy the Umbrella store before he found the babies?

Klaus is pissing me off. Why won’t he just tell his siblings that he sees Ben every time and that he is with him always? I know they’d love to hear that Ben is just with them. What is up with Klaus huh? Could someone explain?
To be fair, they all knew, he didn't say it outright but they all knew Ben was really with him and heard him talking to him constantly, and you can't even put it all on Klaus. Ben showed many times to be able to force Klaus's powers, like he could conjure himself to an extent, he forcefully possessed Klaus and his first thought was to hit on a girl and he even channeled through Klaus when he was unconscious, even talking about possessing him when he slept. I think they just didn't expect Ben's soul to die so it wasn't some huge priority.
Thats the very reason why ben is part of the Sparrow academy... since Young Reginald didnt know he was there with them in the light dinner... it seems thats the reaosn he was adopted

there’s one thing I don’t understand when they were all 13 their dad only called them by numbers their mom was the one to give them actual names and number 5 was the only one without one because he left soon after but when they showed that one scene of the kids wanting to say goodnight the mom calls Alison by her name and 5 was there why didn’t they give him a name too?

Their dad has spent their entire lives bashing them and their self esteem to the ground so bad none of them have any confidence what so ever. But when Diego really wanted to stop that wall of bullets he did, he had the confidence in himself to do it. I mean look at Vanya and what she was able to do when she had confidence in herself. Allot of times when they have confidence in themselves and their family their powers seem to double or even find new shit they didn’t even know they could do. I think Number 5 giving good ole dad all that info I think good ole dad will treat Sparrow Academy wayyyy better and let them use their powers at their full potential.

I think when Ben is to disappear like the thanos snap but more elegant because the timeline is altered so his soul came back to the future because on the changed timeline ben is still alive.

Am I the only one who wants to know more about Grace? I mean, every moment I used to think she was a robot, but she is a human. I was shocked when I saw her. I think she needs more protagonism, and also I want to know what the truth she was going to tell to Diego on S1.
Im probably wrong but i feel like she found too much about reginald and so he turned her into a robot because theres no way you can make a robot from scratch that realistic

I think after hargreeves met the umbrella academy and saw how practically broken they were, he decided to not adopt these 7 kids in the future however, since he didn’t get to meet Ben, he adopted him up anyway
I have a theory, obviously it is a common theory, but every season in the show has been the same, based on the comic book names, the first season and book were about an apocalypse and the book is called apocalypse suite. Second season is in Dallas Texas, and the second book is called Dallas. The third book is called hotel oblivion and shows a picture of the umbrella academy building , for sure, there is going to be some problems with the sparrow academy, and there is going to be lots of fights to try and win back their home from these random people
This makes sense but if they already started giving away hints about Sparrow Academy don't you think Harlan would be involved with them. After all near the end of the last episode you see Harlan levitating a bird which is most likely pointing towards that he is in the Sparrow Academy in the near future.The six members of the new Academy may be the same people. BUT there is a chance they are all different people other then Ben. This makes sense because what if Layla goes back in time to save the Handler from her death. And then messing up the time line to make the "Sparrow Academy" . it's very unlikely that she did go back in time to save the handler from her death or maybe she went to the future to make the new team if she on it or apart of it. Its also possibly that somebody set whole this up! But until then we'll have to wait until next year to see the new season! And i love the idea of Sparrow vs Umbrella! Oh and you guys will love Umbrella Academy Season 3!! ;)
