This is honestly my favorite scene in the entire series. All these siblings had their differences, grown apart, went through bad events, all still have a good time dancing like no one's watching, from a song they all loved in their childhood. Even if their "father" was just cremated.
Agreed. This is the scene that makes you realize they grew up together as siblings. Even being in different rooms, separated from one another.... they really aren't separated at all.

Not only that, but also consider the locations that each character is dancing in. Vanya is dancing in the entrance hall, something that hints at the idea that she has very little personal connection to actually living in the house, while Allison and Luther are both in their own rooms. Diego has some connection, but more as someone who is familiar with the place but doesn’t want to live there on a more permanent basis, and also in the opposite end of the house from Luther in the cross section. Klaus is literally dancing underground, given that he’s in the basement, but it’s also dark and filled with mismatching objects, perhaps a connection to his struggles with addiction and death. Their dances can also indicate levels of socialisation, with Diego and Allison being the most comfortable living in the outside world, while Klaus and Vanya the least. It also hints at what each character considers to be important or something that has shaped them; Luther has his ideals (accidentally punching the plane) Allison has the show of success (dance moves that emphasise the importance of the dancer) Diego has his independence and self identity (constantly on the move, running motions) Klaus has his never ending link to the dead (he’s dancing with a frickin urn!) Five comes in right at the end. He wouldnt have danced. Hes too old to do what the kids are doing. IMO both of them needed separate intros because of the badassness that they are.
When you realize Diego closed the door because he saw Vanya... So he wasn't thinking of others seeing him. I think he did it so Vanya wouldn't realize he could see and be embarrased. Look how carefully he closes the door

Alison does not get enough credit for dancing, shoes on and all, on top of her bed during the zoom out. Her whole dance is so hollywood and put together and it zooms and she's practically jumping on the bed XD
This is one of my favorite scenes in a TV show. It’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s a perfect break from the somber tone, and it shows this whole family still cares about each other weather they admit it or not
Can we just appreciate the foreshadowing of this song.. "I think we're alone now The beating of our hearts is the only sound" You mean, just like Vanya when in the vault. Alone. And she uses the sound of her heartbeat to break out.
i just realised that vanya was dancing on the staircase which is right next to the lounge where diego was. so he was staring at at her when closing the door lmaoooo
I have watched this scene so many times and continue to because it is just very comforting and a great way to release all the tension and trauma going on. They may be in their separate spaces, but they are very much together as well. This is one of many powerful scenes in the whole series! ♥️🙏🏼
When this show ends the final scene needs to be a dance scene with all the siblings together along with their significant others such as Lila and salown
The other thing I find interesting is that Luther and Allison are kind of in-synch on this. Both in their rooms, both moving the same body parts at the same time but to slightly different rhythms. Pretty neat.
I remember trying to watch this after losing my dad. This scene broke my heart, the constant "I think we're alone now" was a sledgehammer through my heart and mind but this series is second to none. Wonderful actors, all equally amazing

If you enjoyed Klaus, you should watch Misfits, there Robert Sheehan plays a pretty similar character (which is the reason I belive this Klaus act like that instead of how he is in the comics)
I think the little moment with Diego @ 1:04 solidified him as one of my favorite characters XD Just, a guy who acts all rough and serious but low-key knows he's about to do something goofy and can't have any of his siblings see through his aloof visage. Love that boy!
I'm gonna miss this! S4 was a nope but the song they used wanna take me back here, always.
S.4 pfff

1:04 just a quick reminder that he was probably looking at Vanya there so he's just awkwardly closing the door before dancing xD
I never noticed it lmao
You made my shippy heart happy. Vanya and Diego from the cómics are my favorites
Moon Shadow they’re.. siblings?
honiibee ehm nope. They are from different mothers. The only confirmed blood relatives are Number 5 and Luther (they are twins in the cómics)
Moon Shadow they’re adopted siblings??? they literally all call grace mom and reginald dad,, also thanks for the spoiler :))
How we wish we danced: Diego
How other people think we dance: Allison
How we think we used to dance: Klaus

How we actually dance: Vanya

Diego's little sideway hustle is really sexy!

This scene is so wholesome, even though they’ve taken different paths and have drifted from eachother - they’re still connected through the somewhat good memories they were able to make within that home and Ofc blasting this sick song throughout the house.
@Ed Findlay family bond that formed over good memories together 💀 you gotta spend time and know someone to get a bondz
Vanya's dance is so adorable for me, for some reason.
And I definitely dance like Luther.

It's Viktor now 😌

Go for Ellen Page, Dancing the most awkward dance possible and making it look organic
Sunprism tf you mean? Her dance was so fucking cool! Well.. at least to me

it’s such a shame ben and five weren’t introduced at this point
Five comes in right at the end. He wouldnt have danced. Hes too old to do what the kids are doing. IMO both of them needed separate intros because of the badassness that they are.
Bill Beason i’d imagine he’d at least tap his foot/nod to the rhythm and smile a bit, which would’ve been cute!

I think it's through a speaker system of sorts
Pogo is probably dancing too 😀 and their Mom as well, she's doing the robot dance 😏

When you realize Diego closed the door because he saw Vanya... So he wasn't thinking of others seeing him. I think he did it so Vanya wouldn't realize he could see and be embarrased. Look how carefully he closes the door

Gives me chills to think that they all started like this and she ends up nearly killing them all.
When I watched the first episode, I thought we were just getting a group of resentful moody kids angry at their parents, like so many other shows. I was about to turn it off, then I saw this scene and discovered they actually had a fun side. After this, I was all in.

God vanya’s dance is impossible to learn.
I saw something abt how it works bc of the way music works, and how her upper body is going with the off beat and her lower body is going with the beat, and how this requires a good understanding of music

there is something hypnotic about this scene where the characters dance separately but together.
The other thing I find interesting is that Luther and Allison are kind of in-synch on this. Both in their rooms, both moving the same body parts at the same time but to slightly different rhythms. Pretty neat.
