When Elvis laughs, The Entire World laughs , Such a Beautiful MAN, with a great sense of humor and charm, Makes me smile All these years later. TCB 1935
Elvis' sense of humour is not recognised by everyone, but it was a big part of what made him sexy. He never took himself seriously. Unlike many people.
That's how professional his background singers and musicians were😂 I think today's artists and 'live' performances are so rehearsed and polished that this just shows how amazing he was ❤
I just love to hear Elvis laugh. It makes me happy that he had a lot of joy in his life and was not afraid to show it. I was smiling this whole time and your laugh matched his. Very similar. It’s great to have a good laugh with Elvis. It sure was a touching moment.
The woman who kept singing was Cissy Houston, Whitney’s mom. She was the one in the pic with him with Elvis arm around her! Classic recording. Great reaction.❤😂
Elvis had a great sense of humor and was very playful. I remember one story where he distributed envelopes to his people which they expected to contain bonus checks, but each only contained a McDonald's gift card. No one knew what to say or do and were obviously really disappointed. Elvis played it straight for several minutes before he began to laugh that his gag gifts had been taken so seriously. He then gave out the expected bonuses. He just wanted to see and enjoy their shocked expressions at his joke, but he followed up with his usual generosity.
Plus, besides giving out bonuses, he gives other gifts such as cars. Remember that Elvis and his parents living in poor conditions in his home state of Mississippi and adopted state of Tennessee.
According to Charlie Hodge, Elvis's Friend that is on stage with him, said that story was not true, that Elvis and they guys always messed with each other in stage and Elvis got tickled and could stop. Then he got tickled that the more he laughed, Cissy Houston sang louder!
Yes, this is the closest to the truth as Charlie Hodge wrote it in his book & is in a lengthy video w-the correct info. This man waving a toupee is rumor that was started long ago but people tend to believe it.
Thank you, guys, for reacting to my request! I am so glad it put a smile on your face as it always does for me. (And a funny trivia: I heard this version first on the radio as a child back in the 80s in the Norway, and even back then we heard the story of the man with the wig. It was so great to me to hear the same story now on the internet and to learn that was I was told as a child actually was true).
@@dekerivers5798 Once again, Cissy Houston was w-Elvis for just 5 weeks in 1969 from July 31st to August 28th. She then left & at a later point forged her own career. Elvis had 3 backup girls for a time until he hired a 4th (whose name escapes me). I also suggest you view the video about Charlie Hodge's book & the true story of what caused the laughter -- that being due to Cissy right before she left the group.
@@dekerivers5798 What I said was not actually referring to who did the high voice singing at that time but what Cissy did w-her voice to cause the laughter -- which I had been concentrating on & was not stated correctly.
I read somewhere that part of what kept Elvis cracking up was that the female backup singer just continued belting out that dramatic falsetto, as serious as could be, while Elvis is completely losing it.
I’ve done that many times. Once I start, that’s it. It’s always in a place where it’s inappropriate I did it once in Church where everyone stared & I still couldn’t stop. My mom told me to leave( with my brother who also could stop until we controlled ourselves). I also as a Nurse went to a patient’s funeral who my girlfriend and I had grown close to she & her husband. We were nervous & right before we went in, said”whatever you do, don’t say she looks good”. We went in and the husband introduced us to relatives and made a big deal that her Nurses were here, which makes one more nervous. We then walked up to the casket, kneeled to say a prayer when my girlfriend blurted out. “Doesn’t she look good?” We lost it and started laughing and couldn’t stop. Finally we grabbed some tissues & pretended we were loudly sobbing. 😢 The more it’s a place in which it would be inappropriate to laugh, that’s when you do it. My husband can stop laughing on a dime & so we were on a bus once and an elderly woman sat next to him and talked his ear off. She found out he was a Dr. & went through a litany of medical questions. My sister in law and myself lost it & he faced us as we laughed. He didn’t crack a smile. I don’t know how he does it. They say a hearty laugh a day is good for your health because it increases your endorphins. I try to watch some funny everyday to have a hearty laugh. 😂😂😂❤❤Great reaction. Thank you. 🎸🕺🏻🎸
@@kathifielder1110 well I’ve got it wrong or the video is wrong because Kathy westmoreland was his soprano singer I’ll look into it in my Elvis paraphernalia.
For more laughter listen to the laughing version of Datin', which he was made to do for a movie scene. He is laughing at how stupid the song really is.
TRUE STORY OF THE LAUGHING: A rumor was started long ago about Elvis' non-stop laughing & people tend to believe it. For the true story, go to "Elvis Presley - Are You Lonesome Tonight Laughing Version - The True Story Behind the Laughter." (I put the link in but yt deleted it so I had to take the link out.) The true story about what happened was written by Charlie Hodge in his book, & the words are also on the screen to read. It was related to an incident with Cissy Houston (she was with him at that time until she left the group a couple of days later on Aug. 28th of '69) & the laughter had nothing to do w-a bald headed man waving his toupee.
ok let me tell you whats really happening.. when Elvis began the song there was a middle aged guy at te front table. who was somewhat drunk as Elvis began the guy got up and started swaying/dancing ..the guy had a toupee..which became to slip off ..thats when Elvis sang ''do you wish you had hair'' the man took it off and started really swaying, drunk to the music.while fanning himself with his own wig .THAT is what Elvis was laughing at, along with Cissy Houston , yes whitneys mom, singing in the background not missing a note..

This version made it to my playlist, it always gets me into a good mood. 😂 I love his laughter ❤
and what kept him laughing was his backup singers never missed a beat and just kept on singing. THAT kept Elvis busting up.
This version chartered in the UK really funny 😅

En Reino Unido tengo entendido que Elvis es muy admirado
he was laughing even more, as Estelle was still singing high as he was laughing through the song.

Elvis had a great laugh, you hear him crack up often, especially in recording sessions
They have made CD's with more of his laughter and jokes called 'Having fun with Elvis on stage'.
