This resignated so much! He grew up/lives in a small town where many people are drug and alcohol addicts. I think he suffers a lot of survivors guilt. Many of his friends died from drugs, but he didn't. He said, I'm the first woman he's met who was not a smoker, drinker, drug user or theif. I told him that he needs to leave his town and move to a more decent area. He's like, "There's a lot of work here. It would be dumb to leave." I said, "you're a carpenter. You can find work anywhere! And if you became a master carpenter, you would never have to worry about work. Hell, you're even smart enough to start your own business." But he has to want those things himself. And I am not disappointed, I'm just sad. He needs help. Professional/Medical help. He would be so much happier if he got out of the toxic environment he's in.
