This is so exciting. I'm hoping to do a project ranger in the summer when I can get the money! I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to look into it. This ranger will be my first car cause I'm going to get my N soon! Can't find any $200 rangers tho :(

Following. If it makes u feel better I paid 7g (guy was asking 9) for a similar 79 bronco that doesn't run and needs engine built along with everything else. Rare to find these out in the lowermainland/Fraser Valley anymore

Awesome choice for a project build, the original SUV! I learned how to drive standard on my brother’s ‘78 Bronco, I love these trucks. My bro’s had a 351M(modified) but my buddy’s ‘79 had a 400 V8..not sure how different they are, I think they’re both small blocks. Like you said, that’s a lot of $$ but you never see them available, once you get it fixed up a bit and if you ever decided to part with it years down the road, you’d be able to ask lots more for it because it’s just gonna get more valuable especially with Broncos getting re-launched now. Who wouldn’t take one of your old ones instead of the newest generation? The new ones look okay for a small SUV but they’re definitely not a “real bronco” like yours. Congrats Brendan, that truck is cool.

Solid stuff bud. I love the ambition and seeing one more bronco being saved. With the limited run of 78 & 79, there was only 181,955 produced. That may seem like a large number but that includes all the broncos that went to Canada, Central America, and South America. Also, you have to take into account off of them that have been wrecked and scrapped over the years.
Where are you out of? I'm guessing around the great lakes area or towards the North East.

Thanks man that’s true there was only 2 years of the 2nd gen pretty rare now!

@@Carfleet Oh way cool. I have several guys that watch the channel out of Canada. One of them I was just talking to out of Ontario picked up a 78 with only 13,000 km on it. Was parked in 83 and never drove again.
On the flip side once the covid stuff is over I really want to come up and find a 1967 Mercery M100 2wd short bed. I know it's the same as a Ford F100 but I just love things that are a little bit different. I have thought of making a bronco into a Mercery clone. It was never a thing and would be a one-off but would be pretty cool.

It's such an interesting motor. Have you read all the intricacies of what the M stands for. It's Michigan Motors not really modified is what I read. It's a cleveland motor with a different throttle body and essentially 2 barrel carb. The heads can be swapped with 400m heads and I think crank.
