Excellent tutorial! Maybe worth noting that in Studio One you have the ability to split the insert effects of a channel by frequency. This way you can do frequency-dependent processing (as explained in "number 8") without having to create a copy of the track and channel.
I wasnt subscribed to this channel but if you guys are going to keep posting content like this, I'll hit that sub button right now. This is extremely informative and discusses theory that every producer should understand, yet there are few informative resources such as this video on YT. Great job guys. P.S. when can we expect the new Massive to be released?
8 ways to create better pads: 1. un-sync the LFOs 2. find the right pad to fit the track (one that can fill the frequency spectrum) 3. The reverb sandwich 4. smooth out envelope type 5. choose the right notes (the 5th does not always sound best) 6. add real-life organic texture 7. side-chain the pad 8. remove effects from the bass
Call me ignorant, but on the 3rd way, is he putting all these effects on the inserts because you’re trying to alter the signal before the send? I’m asking cause normally these effects like reverb, chorus, etc are in the “sends”
Went to take off sync in LFO on a track... Realized it's already off and it's just my sound. Second tip immediately changed the vibe of my current project. Thank you.
Way #9...buy Massive X when it comes out haha j/p Really surprised to see this video after all these years without using the new version of your synth.
Actually it’s nice to see a company embracing other developers , as it’s a bit naive to assume that NI is the only developer sitting in DAW’s world wide. One of the best things to come this way In a while is the NKS and the ideas of collaboration that go with it, good for you, good for me. 👍
Gridnode I don’t have a problem with it in that aspect. But when I have maschine and I get an email for a video that might help and when I watch it it’s not helpful at all, because I don’t have that program.
More of these type of videos please!
Some very good ideas here - never used the 'reverb sandwich' technique so will be sure to try it out - thanks for sharing!
Splitting the bass track effects by frequency. Mind. Blown.
Nice thank you. We want more...
This is good information. Thank you.
This is one of the most helpful videos in 10 min I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you
Excellent tutorial. I feel like I've really learned how to improve my pad sounds. The information is solid. Well played.
Amazing tips! Thank you, and looking forward to more such videos!
Fantastic tutorials thank you NI!!!
Great tutorial. And what a great music! Really enjoyed it. ❤️
Very good stuff. Thanks NI
very good & informative video!!! more please!!!!
Very helpful, thank you!

Great video, thank you. Is the first example track available for purchase - those chords are amazing!
Good vid!
Thx!
Great Video. Pads are my weak points in sound design.

What's a reverb sandwich?
Which spectrum analyzer vst is that with showing the keys?
0:29 Unsync the LFOs

What DAW is that? Never seen such design before.
krychevsk16 Studio One 4
Studio One is half price right now, too.
Ultratop
Instead of reverb sandwhich... just get Movement by Output lol
Stop tryna save this plugin
Nah, still too complicated. Just release a new synth that's focused on pads for us noobs. xD
Why are they showing this on native instruments? Because I don’t see any of this shit on maschine
