I served aboard the John R. Craig DD 885, 1967 -1968. When the Pueblo was taken we were diverted up to the Sea of Japan, along with the Herbert J. Thomas DD 833 to stand by. I still have vivid memories of the Sea of Japan. Standing QMOW I watched the Yorktown take green water over her bows, and saw her island completely engulfed in green water. That was fun.
I was on the USS Eversole DD789 and remember the dependence cruise that Mr. Albrecht spoke about meeting his future wife. Like Mr. Albrecht I also worked in CIC though as a Radarman 1969-73 on the Eversole.
