Some people don't give Chris Harris enough respect, I swear. He's not trying to be the next Clarkson, May or Hammond, he's just presenting in his own way. He seems like a real genuine guy, and a great driver too! He'd be more than welcome to appear on this channel again, in my opinion.
Julian - what a great owner, and a wonderful long term commitment to his car. Chris - one of the few journalists that can truly drive and never fails to entertain. A great piece on Goodwood.
Congrats to whomever got Goodwood to join social media with proper commitment, and with clearly a stellar team! No channel is doing a bit of everything as well 👌🏻 Thank you!
Wonderful! Julian seems such a super pleasant bloke. Harris is a great chap too, and both had exactly the Goodwood spirit. No illusions, just there to have fun and love every minute of it as short as it might have been. No anger, just constant smiling. Love it!
Very interesting to learn about the history of how this race-spec Ford Falcon came to be. Being around the world must be exciting, especially going to Spa Francorchamps twice!
If the BBC wants to compete with The Grand Tour, they just need Chris Harris and give him full creative control over the cars displayed on the show. Let him drive every car or race every event on his bucket list and give it the same amount of care in production value. It would be one of the greatest automotive TV shows in history.
I agree but unfortunately the amount of enthusiasts who like that sort of thing is pretty small. Top Gear has to rack up millions of views to justify its self.
Great video, Julian and Chris are both real down to earth guys. I guess I'll be in the same position when I run my 63 Falcon on the FoS rally stage against the more modern rally cars.
Great video. This guy is living the dream. My wife has a 1963 Falcon. Much different than the ‘64. I have an early 1965 Mustang. On nice days we do enjoy them. Keep on trekking!
Real Ford Falcons are in Australia mate.....Nearly four million built here right up to 2016... Great cars ...I have two .. look them up and you'll be shocked how far we took them ...
He might have been at the back of the pack but he's ever humble, eloquent, and talented. And why he's at the top of the current heap of presenters by a large margin.
What a nice man Julian is. Full of enthusiasm and love for the sport. And Chris...whatever he drives...it's a blast to see. I'd love to know about the background of his Tamiya-helmet, as that brand accompanies my whole life really. Has he ever did a video about that? If so I would love to have a link please.
If I recall correctly, Chris talks about his love of Tamiya a few times in his podcast Collecting Cars. I’ve not listened in a while but on the Collecting Cars website the blurb for Episode 29 specifically mentions him talking about them. They’re available on TH-cam too.
Great job Chris. Man. You wringed that things neck brother!!! I own a '61 falcon. Before i did all the crown vic front clip conversion stuff it was MORE than a handful. ALL the respect brother.
It's a dream to one day go to the Goodwood Festival of speed if I ever have the money and can travel. I would rather see a race at Goodwood than any modern Formula 1 race ever
Chris is a awesome driver. And I know everybody says that formula one is a pinnacle of racing but I think these Goodwood races with these older cars and all these different kind of cars takes much more skilled in to just be able to drive one type of Formula 1 car
This is something I have always dreamed of attending. This and the festival of speed.. as my life winds on its looking less and less likely ill get there..
A unsung hero of cars save the Pan American in Mexico which has a lot of Falcon's and they just look so cool flying down public roads way to fast. Could it get any better. No and I'm a Chevy Porsche guy.
Not exactly clear why the Falcon can't make as much power as the 1st generation Mustangs. Ir for that matter why all of the suspension mods used on the Mustangs can't be used on the Falcon. Obviously tje car could be put on a diet and losec100 lbs or so. The doors and interior should be the place to start.
The Falcons was homologated and raced with fiber glass body parts (and aluminium bumpers) back in the day. The modification this car have are a copy of the Falcons you would see in rally or on the race tracks back in the 60s. There's a reason the Falcons was the fastest cars at the '64 Monte Carlo Rally, Ford had gone all-in and showed up with some serious race cars.
You don't have to be right at the front to enjoy your races
Indeed, you can be leading your class and back in the pack having a ball chasing what’s faster

Top Gear is an order of magnitude better with the current presenters, IMO.
@@hackdaniels7253 Do you know who is Chris Harris?
Chris Harris is the sideways king......😀
@@andosrailway2369 yes. He is one of the current presenters of Top Gear.
Well said! I completely agree with you.
Chris Harris is the real deal. A brilliant driver and presenter.

When Mr. Chris Harris Drive anything I’m watching no doubt about it this man can drive anything fast

Chris Harris is the easiest way to get the car community to buy into your content. And it paid off well!

Cheers from Orange County California.. glad to see One of our local Classic Car's.. living a Fantastic life in U.K

Love seeing history live on and be taken care of like this
Nice to meet Julian Balme having read of his exploits in Classic and Sportscar for years.

What a great guy, giving Chris all the credit for what went right and taking the blame for what didn’t. RESPECT ✊

Chris Harris driving anything is always entertaining, Rj in Oz
The sound of all those v8s pulling off the grid us epic.
Great couple of guys, great car, and Julian's done some great design work.
I love the Falcons of that era (mine ). And its got original dash and door cards! awsome! Love it.
HAVE A 65 LOVE THESE RACES WITH THE 60S AND 50S CARS
Great story, great owner, memorable car everything club racing should be. Julian Balme certainly knows how to enjoy his racing.

Look at the names at the front of field. A lot of big names just not from F1. Except Jenson Button last year.
I have a '64 Ford Falcon Sprint in the garage that needs restoration. Maybe some day. Thanks for posting.
Just love this 🙏
Amazing car. Well done for keeping this history racing. Bravo 👏
This is a lovely film about one of my favourite cars. I feel as if I've been reading about it since Julian bought it.
The car sounds amazing!
I'll watch anything with Chris Harris in it..😎
This is something I have always dreamed of attending. This and the festival of speed.. as my life winds on its looking less and less likely ill get there..
Small block 260 or 289? Rain tires?
Always loved Falcons.
I have been reading about Julian Balme and his falcon for decades in the best car magazine Sports and Classic Cars.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!
Buen video Falcon y Ford 👍✌️👋💪💪🇲🇽
Love this! However, I'd advise larger rear-view mirrors to see those racers about to pass.
1964 Holman-Moody Ford Falcon, the car that actually won 1964 Rally monte Carlo but was robbed for the victory
What was going on with Chris frantically unraveling the key wrapped around the tachometer?
What’s powering it? Ford 302? Sounds awesome 💪🏼
289 to be FIA legal
@Simon Lane - Ah; yes, how did I forget about the classic 289.
Is this the Australian Falcon or the English one?
Neither: it's the left-hand drive American one, the owner sourced it from California. (It's mentioned briefly in the early part of the video.)
If you wanted the real fast falcon, you should have bought an Aussie XY falcon 351 GTHO phase 3. You’d be on pole.
I literally cannot stand fords but goddamn. It’s a nice car
My first car was a 1964 two door Falcon.
Oh Chric Chris Chris !!!
Awesome car
Sunday drive🤠☔
Julian Balme has a cool crash helmet.
Chris you have quite the life
Yup the rear brakes on DPB5B are so over effective that its very easy to have it pointing back up the road just like that!!!!
Mmm maybe next time he ought to get in a Aussie Falcon to finish a Goodwood race, because he doesn't seem to have any luck in the American one's 😅😅
Chris is a top man ! Much respect to him not a fake like the other wannabes!
Oh Chris this is the Baja all over again lol 😉😂
He should watch Tom Kristensen about how to drive a Falcon😊
0:37 must be a joke. In Australia it was almost always the falcons that won races.
Lol, unless they were racing against Valiants.
@@20alphabet yeah, you're right😁
If i were there...

Chris can manhandle a Ferrari F40 or McLaren P1. this stuff is just fun for him
Next year ole chap, next year. lol
I'm too competitive to leave a racecar completely period correct haha
I think the headline is somewhat incorrect. Not to worry Chris, there's always next time.
Was that 4 LUG WHEEL WITH A V8 ENG? I KNOW 6CYL. HAS 4 LUG WHEEL.??
The baby blue Dart was better.

All of that can be done. The 1964 Falcon and the 1965 Mustang are the same cars under the skin.
Make a visit to Mr David Vizard, he’ll find you that missing 100 bhp
This is a “slow” american car of that era. A v6 mustang of sorts.
It's got two doors.... I don't know what a saloon implies anymore
Down on power? Not even cheating you should get 700, but then...
1st
Bad Chris, go sit in the corner of shame.
Pleased to hear "most" of the car is original. Once they start replacing panels with fibreglass I question the authenticity of this class of racing.
