I have the pinpointrc Black Box because I do long-range fpv and it works off of GPS, it picks up on all cellular Networks, the good thing is you don't need a subscription like those cheap GPS trackers this one comes with lifetime tracking, just open the app, log on, and it starts tracking your plane, I've done went down twice in sugar cane more than a mile away and each time it has taken me straight to my airplane
i have the same and pretty satisfied. my hint is to wrap it with some bubblepaper (pluriball) since it is really delicate. one hard land and it might break down.
Like that. I have another make which only fires off when the motion detector has spotted that the plane/quad/truck has been still for a preset time. I think this one is especially good for for planes and quads because it has crash detection and theft detection.. Being self-contained means that (like mine) it can be quickly swapped from model to model. These keep getting better :)
I am using GPS tracker from Aliexpress. It is the same price,a little bigger and it is with real GPS antenna inside.Way better for simple beeper I think .It shows me the location with 2,3 meters error which is perfect.
I bought it and tried using it with my F722 wing but it kept beeping even tough I never asked it by any means to make it beep. I gave it away to a friend... The sound is really good, hurts my ears ahah
Great demo of the alarm but noticed something odd. When your aircraft crashed, and after a set time a faint beeping was heard and it was faint. When you picked the acft up supposing to steal it, the beeping was much louder. To me that louder beeping is the one that should be used after it crashed as it is much louder. Happy Flying
Checked the specs and there is a 30 minute low volume period before it goes to max output. Time for a good cry, get some tea & sympathy from your mates and pull on the snake proof boots before you head off into the sticks to look for it. ;-)
@@theoztreecrasher2647 30s not 30min. I think you're just noticing the buzzer at a distance then close to the mic. My mic is directional and pointed to my face.
@@AndrewNewton Thanks for the correction Andrew. Just paused your video in HD & Full Screen to give the old eyes & even older brain time to catch up. I seem to dimly recall that there were some alarms that did have a longish delay period before activating the alarm. A good self contained and easily transferred unit for the more expensive UAVs. But at 30AUD+ for our cheapies the 2.50AUD low battery alarm on the balance plug will have to suffice.
I stuck one of these in the well protected rear motor mount hole of my Sky Hawk.... One big crash nose first into the ground from 50/60feet up & it hasnt worked since... Normal 'in operation LED comes on when plane is powered but stops as soon as plane is unplugged again & buzzer/stobe no longer works when switch is flipped while powered from plane- otherwise I'd suspect it has something to do with the small onboard lipo as it no longer bleats after disconnecting main battery... Would be better, I feel, if lipo was replaced with a replaceable button type battery. Other problem was, I have industrial deafness in the range that most of our buzzers work at so even at 105db I have trouble hearing these things in the same room- luckily there's a good hunting dog here to help when it still worked :v ;) I paid 26 AUD at the time & unless they halve that price, or change the battery from lipo to a replaceable item, I dont believe I'll be buying another.
Hmm. Cute, but not really my scene. I'd be tempted to try reprogramming the Morse code alarm beeps from the standard simple 'S.O.S' to something more amusing. Have the little device deliver a proper message, like, 'CALL YOURSELF A ****ING DRONE PILOT, DO YOU? FOR ****'S SAKE GET ME OUT OF HERE'. Sorry. Have I gone too far again? Back to the Naughty Step, Elli, you bad, bad girl...

Nice simulation
Nice, not sure the neighborhood would enjoy it beeping away in the tree all night lol, I guess I should try not to crash to close lol. Cheers

I am still waiting for the Homing beacon.

No good to me as got hearing problems

I wish they made these little buzzers at a lower pitch for the same reason!

Bad Elli, but that would be a useful learning tool.
