Think the sound on video is different to what it is especially in regard to pitch, if I use a ear piece I can hear it perfect in one ear but not the other! one friend could'nt hear it at all the video and another said he thought it was very high pitch ! Great idea
perhaps do a follow up video comparing it to one of the commonly used buzzers. I could use something like this but the cost for shipping and the cost of the unit is prohibitive and the sound on this video is not impressive but the idea is excellent. I lost a model three days ago and after a frustrating two day search this would be great but extra frustrating if I couldn't hear it.
I'm not sure if I like the 1 hour wait. that seems like you can burn out some equipment, like the video tx, waiting that long. I more like the DRONE KEEPER MINI. it's a smaller package and it has an accelerometer that triggers after 30 seconds of no movement. it also doubles as a battery meter and a switch operated buzzer. just my thoughts on the subject.
Kevin Ray It should be okay. Earlier I was watching another video that had jets taking off, highway traffic, and road construction all going on, and it sounds like they've quieted all of that stuff down a bunch too, so you should be able to hear the beeper over almost anything.
Might need to be called "whispey" :) I am confused, this sounded VERY low audio, like 10dB. It needs to be at least 90 dB. The spec says: Range: Audible out to 1/8 mile (200 meters / 660 feet!), I am skeptical about that range number. Most systems use fail safe. So this will not initially detect a issue, but after an hour, it will start alarming?
Watching the video, I'm not as worried about how quiet it is like the other people commenting so far. What bothers me is that my RC plane is small enough that I won't be able to ride on the plane to hold on to the alarm unit like that guy in the video does.
What if you have a long range ship that flys over an hour? My penguin can stay up well over that... Does it start after it is plugged in, or after signal stops?(1 hour timer)
Andrew Griffiths The software doesn't yet know how to sync to CPPM/PPM frames. What this means is you can trigger Screamy by shutting off the transmitter, but you can't trigger off a spare channel. Now, if your PPM gets split into separate PWM channels by the flight controller or something else, you can use a spare channel by connecting Screamy to the PWM channel. Hope this answers your question.
I love it ! These guys evidently, don't really write, or stick, to any kind of script. They wing it like everybody else ! LOL I'm pretty sure this guy is mid level manager too! "It is extremely small." "This is just a standardized coin." "You can get a size reference on that" . . . Oh , Ok , Sure because all coins are the same size! ! ROFLMAO ! ! :) I am guessing that was a Hong Kong Dollar since that is where they are based. Standardized coin! Yep, nickel, dime, dollar, whatever! At least he didn't tell me how really, really, cool it is , 6 times, like the other guy!
He's says you can hear it from a quarter of a mile away. I'm guessing the frequency is higher than what the audio in this video can reproduce?
sounds quiet to me

Was that a mouse squeaking?
Does it have volume control? Is that as loud as it gets? Sounds super quiet....
you call that loud???

People are saying it isn't that loud. But the alarm didn't go off at all during the video, just indicator beeps. I'd imagine it's pretty loud.

Wow that thing doesn't seem loud at all.
I think i'm going to wait 'till +RCModelReviews takes a look, and What about cppm? I'm thinking mini quads here!
yeah, a bit quiet...
unless you play in a quiet environment...
Could they jazz up the buzzer? 3 tones maybe?

just sounds quiet in the video then..
Nice but for 23 bucks...plus shipping to the usa is 20 dollars...not worth 43 bucks!

How many DB is the beeper
The silent gamer The specs on the piezo are 81dB @ 10cm with a 3V peak-to-peak 4kHz square wave. We drive it with a 7V p-p signal.
Kelly Miller now thats some detail
Damn, I fart louder than that thing! What's the deal?
The camera is just compressing the sound, making it sound quiet. Its really loud actually, about as loud as the lipo voltage alarms
drkastenbrot OK, thank you.
so you are only going to hear it when you are 6 feet away then?

Guys he probably covered it with his fingers so his ears won't fall off and also the cam for sure can't record it 100% accurately
love the comparison with a chinese coin that no one outside of china has seen, that looked a lot bigger than a quarter

eric deherrera The 1-hour timer starts on power-up. If you don't mind uploading software you can tweak the timer easily.
Would be NICE if it were really LOUD !!
damnit ... blown my laptop speaker out with its sound HK ... not good not good
How about cppm?

I couldn't hear anything, maybe too high pitched for older people.
Doesn't even sound loud?
Definitely not loud enough
toooo quiet, it's not a solution for lost models, unfortunately :(
Too quiet. No way you can hear it with what hk describe
It's a screamy, not a screamor.
screamy?
I didnt here anything.
