    Thanks for the overview. Can this be used for live performance with groove boxes, samplers, synths and the like? Are there any limitations in this regard? I am not a DJ but DJ mixers somehow seem more appealing to me that standard mixing consoles.

      Yes, but keep in mind there are only 6 inputs. You'd get more bang for your buck going with a standard console.

    Making a Filter assign to a small metal switch is really bad solution. I have it on my DB2 and you can't see shit in a club if it's enable to left or right. These should be lit up buttons. Switch is invisible and not pleasant to use. This is a real gripe for me.

    I was thinking about buying one but I play with mp3’s from beatport so it would make no difference in sound to my Pioneer I guess?

    • @nostarak
      @nostarak 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      its make difference when you play with a lot of channels, 4CDJs at same time or 4 "things" + effects thats play at same time 'things being' "Samples + Drum machine + Pedal effects + Synthesizers" ^__^

    • @RC75
      @RC75 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nostarak Thanks. But not for me than. I just play with max 3 channels, 90% of the time just 2 and I don’t use much effects, just now and then. I play techno and I know a lot of dj’s are using effects the whole time but I wan’t to keep it sounding like the artist made the track. I guess, with my 45 years, I’m a bit old school🙂.

    • @nostarak
      @nostarak 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RC75 ^_^ yeah, the beauty in this mixer if you will NOT use a lot of channels is the 4 band EQ that you can sculp the MID's frequencies for more harmonic mixes, the possibility to put Guitar Pedals for a customize way of using your own effect setup as well and its a Pure analogic mixer the level distortion should be better than digital mixers out there !

    • @nostarak
      @nostarak 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      btw a tip for you ! if you are using CDJ2000NXS-1 you can play .AIFF its better in quality them MP3, I highly recommend you buy Techno music from BANDCAMP because there when you buy a track you can download even in .flac without paying for it like on beatport ! if you are using NXS-2 you can play .FLAC format but bear in mind the size of the track also go high a little bit !

    • @RC75
      @RC75 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nostarak I know the quality is better but I don’t hear much of a difference. Maybe at a festival or club but I am just playing for the fun with 2 Adam A77x’s at home.

    Hi! Is it's possible to add a Xone K2 to this setup? Using the K2 for efects and samples with Traktor or Rekordbox?

    • @Jaacckko0
      @Jaacckko0 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A K2 can easily plug into the Xone96 via xlink and yes you can route the audio through Traktor effects. I assume you can do the same with Rekordbox but I would double check because Pioneer is Pioneer. In terms of adding samples, you would just assign a Traktor deck to a remix deck and route the output audio to one of the channels on the 96 and obviously use the K2 as a midi controller :)

    I have to say this because I use all eq bands when transitioning between tunes on a 3 band eq......Why does only bass get crossed over during these demo mixes when the mids and highs should also be used to make the transition between one tune to the next being played. I say this not to be awkward, i say it because I'm looking at potentially buying this mixer but a 4 band eq is new to me and I'd like to see why the 4 band eq is more useful for sculpting sound, rather than never changing the mids and highs from the 12 o clock position so what is the point of 4 band eq mixer being demo'd if its not really shown whats its capable of

    • @BopDJstore
      @BopDJstore  ปีที่แล้ว

      Speaking from my experience a 4-band EQ in a live performance setting with bands is super useful for sculpting sound, you have to look at the Xone:96 as a mixing board as well as a tradition club mixer. Alongside this in general low-end frequencies have so much energy that they cannot occupy the same space, as the sub woofer wouldn't be able to handle them. So in a lot of demos the bass is the main key focus, but I agree :) When mixing I normally reduce mids & highs and slowly bring them in while taking out the other track! Mixing on a four channel gives you so much more room to adjust and tailor the sound! If you're unsure come and visit us to demo the unit for yourself :)

    • @karlroberts4658
      @karlroberts4658 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BopDJstore hi thank you for the reply, I was hoping someone from the bop dj shops would comment because I was going to contact the Salford branch to see if I could use one there for a demo. Theres 2 issues with buying the 96 for me, obviously I've not used the 4 band eq and the phasing issue using the pioneer rmx 1000 (don't like the effects on px5, there not very useable in my opinion for anything other the techno/house, sound quality is good though, just pioneer are better for usability but sound quality isn't fantastic). Apparently the phasing is from the digital to analogue conversation rate which causes a delay from the digital out of the rmx when it returns to the analogue input on the mixer. I'm trying to pick luke walls brain at allen and heath to find a way round this suggesting they make an analogue unit (digital in/analogue out) which will go between the rmx and the return on the mixer so it delays the audio signal from the rmx to compensate or adjust manually so the delay required can be adjustable to the correct milliseconds of delay before the signal goes back into the analogue 96, something a bit like this which is used for video editors to input recorded sound and delay on to video the old school way to lip sync sound to the actors on a TV programme for instance ..... Probably won't be possible as I'm not an electronics genius but I'm trying to solve this issue badly. Here is the for unit I was just referring too....
