We took a break from the mountains this week. We originally weren't going to film this, but swimming with sea turtles has been on our wish list for awhile. Have you sawm with sea turtles before? If so, where?! We would love to know.
We wish we could’ve captured it, but our GoPro was giving us some issues. We were thankful to have any footage at all. There were at least 7 sea turtles including a baby. So cute 🐢
Loved this video. Loved the orange nutibranch. Hope it wasn't one of the poisonous ones. Want to snorkel! Noticed the green onion pancakes and soup dumplings. Duck House!! Dan & Beth
Looked like such a nice island getaway! Pretty inexpensive too. Always love seeing sea turtles. Used to see them a lot when we lived in the Caribbean, they're always so serene. Looking forward to your trip in Bali. Get some of that surf footage!
We enjoyed a few days away! Our first time swimming with sea turtles and we would definitely do it again. Snorkeling in the Caribbean with sea turtles looks amazing. Where in the Caribbean did you live? We will definitely try and get surf footage 🤙🏽 still debating what we want to vlog 🏄🏻♀️
@@HelenandTimTravel we used to live in St. Kitts for 2 years while I was attending vet school there. So we definitely understand the island time you were speaking of haha. Enjoy the rest of your time in Taiwan!
We went in March…no wetsuit needed. It was provided by the guide service so we wore them. But rashguard and swim trunks were fine when we went on our own
Hi Helen and Tim, I am planning to go there with my Dad and brother this month. You say we should bring cash to the hotels on Lambai Island? Does this mean that you do not book the hotel in advance, or that you book the hotel online and pay when you get there? Also, could you tell me how much it is to hire a guide? I haven't been snorkeling before, so I'm curious if it is worth hiring a guide. Thanks.
We recommend bringing cash since there doesn’t seem to be ATMs on the island that we found. It depends on your hotel. I would message or email them ahead of time to find out. We booked through booking.com and realized when we showed up had to pay in cash since they didn’t have a card machine. You can always book a hotel online where you pay upfront ahead of time. Our guide was very affordable. This is the snorkeling guide service we used. The guided snorkel was a couple hours and it was $13 USD per person. If you want to rent snorkel gear it was around $15 per person per day. Here is the guide we used: maps.app.goo.gl/KJbXVxoHujmCaB7J9?g_st=ic We also bookmarked places we liked around the island. Here is our Google maps with recommended restaurants: Lambai Island (Xiaoliuqiu) · Helen and Tim Travel maps.app.goo.gl/JAvhUcapZiwVbaNb8?g_st=i We recommend renting a moped if you have experience riding them or an electric bike to get around
Yes, they did take Tim’s drivers license when we rented the scooter as collateral. Always good to have an international drivers license when you travel ☺️
Great video! I am planning a visit to this island in March - one question I have - is one overnight enough to really see it or maybe two nights absolutely needed?
Thanks! We stayed for a couple nights and felt like that was a good amount of time. Depends on if you want to snorkel/dive different sites. Seems to be the main attractions there. There are a couple nice beaches and lots of good food there. If you get there in the morning, one night should be enough. We enjoyed having two days there since we rented a moped to get around the island.
@@HelenandTimTravel Thanks for your reply and input. Trying to balance one or two days on the island vs one or two days in Taroko Gorge before having to return to Taipei for work stuff. Maybe I am trying to fit too much of those two places on not enough days. 🫣☺️
@teslarob4790 Taroko is another great spot! Only went for one night over 8 years ago and hope to get back to explore. We love snorkeling with the turtles and definitely recommend you do that. Tough decisions for sure!
We have a Google maps list of the spots we loved on the island. Here’s the link including the snorkel shot ☺️ Lambai Island (Xiaoliuqiu) · Helen and Tim maps.app.goo.gl/4YSGXh2fNHb1WPmeA?g_st=i

We've snorkeled with sea turtles in Hawaii! It is such a neat experience, so glad you decided to film :)
Love this!!! Amazing experience ❤❤
We really loved swimming with turtles for the first time! 🐢 Definitely not the last! Tim saw a turtle when we snorkeled in Bali today!
Looks like fun! That experience with the sea turtle family sounded incredible ❤️

The marine turtles are so majestic!! What an amazing experience getting to snorkel with them 💙
It was a great experience! We hope to be able to do it again in another country or at least scuba diving 🤿
Watching your videos from philippines done fullwatch.
Thanks for watching
Great see the island and turtles
Definitely, a unique experience we did not think we would be getting while in Taiwan 🤿

Don’t believe it was poisonous since our guide was holding it. It’s a beautiful snorkel. The food is all super delicious. We miss it already!

Not sure what this means, but it gives us good vibes 😆😉
In which month have you been there? Was the water too cold to go without a wetsuit? Thank you so much

Do you need a license to rent a scooter?
