Don't do what I just did and order from a Tennessee helmet company that is really a China store front. I ordered a lvl 4 ballistic helmet which according to all the utube channels showing .22 going through them. Mine is a ach/mich because I'm wanting something that more resembles the Gwot. I purchased mine luckily on a black Friday sale so I cost less than some high $ bump helmets . Thanks for sharing ❤
i have an old Pasgt is it worth getting it high cut or should I just get an ACH and have that converted instead ? btw theres a guy KustomACH that does ach for $115 and pasgt for $160 . high cut, holes and paint job
Did you have to Redhill any holes for the rails? I've got the same model rail and laid it over both a medium and large ACH. The holes are nowhere close. Would be interested in seeing which rails you used and how they line up on that uncut ach.
They were just some rails I got off Amazon. No clue what the brand was. But I took the chin strap screws out and used them to secure the rails. I personally had no issue
I got those same mounts for my peltors, so far they have barely lasted a 6 month deployment and look like they are about to explode any second. Don’t really recommend
So his helmet is actually $80-500 cheap Chinese helmet that I wouldn’t actually recommend. PGD and HHV are ok choices but nothing else. I know this because you can’t achieve a fast legacy cut from cutting an ach or ech. Just not possible. And the rails are mysteriously the same color as the helmet itself… However he is not wrong. If you want a cheap real ballistic high cut, get an ach from a surplus shop for like $200 and cut the ears off. You’ll want the MICH ACH arc rails for the helmet.
@@StagonRatedE yeah you’re entirely wrong, it’s a standard issue ACH that was cut with a jigsaw blade. Theres several videos on how to do it and yes this video is physical proof that it can be done. I didn’t film the process in the event I fucked it up. Everything is painted to match, the rails were more brown when I got them. A coat of non skid bed liner on top of the old grit texture on the ACH and Rust-Oleum camo tan made a similar appearance to the issued oneAnd with supplies cost me around $200-300, same durability and functionality.

@@redeye8526 it’s worth it to convert. They hold up the same as an ACH too
If you want an ach then sell that Pasgt, Achs aren’t much more
That last line got me 😂
