    Regarding repairing the pickaxe. If a netherite pickaxe breaks in 20hr, then it goes through ~100 durability per hour.
    XP bottles drop ~7xp/bottle, so if you dispense one XP bottle every 4 minutes that would be enough to keep you going long term.
    One shulker of XP bottles would let you AFK for ~5 days. You could probably include a circuit that would turn it on after 19 hours to use it as a backup in case you forget your game running.

    Once you get a "final" design of this, I would very much love a build tutorial for it. I don't much like duping mechanics...though I suppose mining out the spawn platform in the end isn't that bad, neither is mining out the end pillars, and resummoning the dragon. but this isn't even duping that, so I see it as even better! but the broken end frame sand/gravel dupe is really edging past my comfort...I just wish SAND was renewable, like gravel now is. maybe they'll do a Desert TLC Update in the future, new desert mobs, plants, and perhaps new ways of getting sand. like...cobwebs over a cauldron, will catch windblown sand, into the cauldron, and you can bucket that out, and once placed it turns into sand. wouldn't that be cool? [I've seen mods use sand layers that can be crafted into sand, that the wind places like snow]

    For a low-tech/early game option you can position yourself to break 3 blocks below you while mining the obsidian pillars in the end from top to bottom. Break 2/3 blocks, crouch on the one left over and sneak as far as u can towards the opposite corner of the L-Shape. Aim at the corner of the block ur standing on, about a pixel down along the vertical edge and a pixel towards the side your corner block is on. While your mining, press F3+T then let go of your mouse once the mojang screen comes up to mine afk (keep an eye on your y level tho!)

    • @carsonmullaney
      @carsonmullaney 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      im sure this has already been talked about but I only just figured it out on my own. I took down all the pillars in my last world using this method before I knew u could break more than one while ‘falling’. Bonus tip, put a water bucket at the top of the pillar for quick transport back up there (plus a torch, enderman spawn up there without the crystals)

    I wonder if instead of checking to see if a cauldron is filled with lava at the player interaction step, you could somehow filter out the filled cauldrons during the filling process, and then replacing it. It would at least make a system with zero downtime.

    • @iveharzing
      @iveharzing 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the system they have now is better, since it's way simpler and there's already very little downtime with the fast switching when they're not full.
      A system which sorts the cauldrons could technically work, but you'd need quite some extra redstone logic, especially when merging the two cauldron lines afterwards.

    • @fuuryuuSKK
      @fuuryuuSKK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This might not work, but could you have a set of "backup" cauldrons placed that would replace any broken cauldron?
    Perhaps it could even be combined with only sending filled cauldrons past the player, it might allow the lava part to be "layered, as much fewer cauldrons would pass by the player, yet each part would not need to be moved very quickly.

      Doesn't seem to be using a lot of honey blocks. And honey really isn't that difficult to get.
      All you need is oak/birch saplings (found easily), a few flowers (bonemeal grass or double block flowers) and a bit of sand for the bottles.
      Bee nests spawn in 5% of oak/birch trees grown with a flower near the sapling (if you don't have any naturally generated nests nearby). And once you have two bees, you can breed them with flowers. Put a campfire under the nest and you're good to harvest honey or honeycombs to make more beehives.

    Should have just used a wither cage )
    Nice concept with pumpkins though!

    Would doubling the cauldrons but having it in two batches work? Leave the diamond block in the feed tape, but you'd check the first set of cauldrons, mine any obsidian, then check the second half of the cauldrons for lava, repeat.

    You could also use a dispenser with bottles o enchanting to repair the pickaxe, although you would need to trade for them.

      or you could just have a pitstop every 19 hours to refill the durability with mending

    Won't be able to use it on the server I play on cause it's modded and lag would probably break the item swap system but it's still an insane build!

    Would be nice if they added a mechanic where if you pour water over a cauldron filled with lava it would turn the lava into opsidian and pop it out of the cauldron. Same with the reverse for stone.

    Great video, although I'd instead use end platform-based farms due to their simplicity and efficiency.

    Could this not be made faster by using axe in place of a regular item in the 1st hot bar slot? This way the pumpkins would break faster and allow you to save time on the cycles where 2 full cauldrons appear right after one another. I guess then you would have to worry about it breaking, but for short times AFKing it should still work right?

    I wanted something like this because the end platform was being used for sand duping.

    Hi mango, what do you think about how Glow Squids spawn in 1.18? Mojang apparently messed it up a lot.
    Below y30 glow squids can spawn in literally any water block (even flowing water), no matter light or blocks around, damaging aesthetic builds, farms and contraptions, but almost none seems to care and Mojang marks inherent bug reports as "Work as intended", even if they report crazy spawning conditions that shouldn't be possible. This is incredibly frustrating... any thoughts?
    Great contraption as always, I love your content.

    Im curious why this would be used instead of the faster wither based designs. They are not that complicated and only take around an hour to build. I would think even if you didn't want to have it constantly in your end dimension it would be faster to build one to get a large amount of obsidian than to go with this design. Regardless its a really smart design and really cool idea, keep up the great work!

      This don't risk destroying anything around it if you make an error constructing the farm.
