Guys, Napoleon was a great leader who brought into law, equality and advancement based on merit, a huge shift from the descendabcy. He also introduced education for women. Most of European law now still has the Napoleonic codes in it. He became a dictator as he felt no one else could do the job, and he was right. Vive Napoleón!

I was in the scouts In merchants Quay when they were excavating wood Quay. An absolute disgrace. Could you imagine now if we had the settlement on display. Buildings could have been built over it.

Oh my god, I too stayed in the Tower in Waterford last weekend. I shared some classic Savage Eye clips with my other half each night there. Small world!

Jack and daniel yes the whole of dublin is on a graveyard but to find any area where the wood is preserved is extremely rare to find. And its not like they were building a hospital or something important in top of it. The whole of dublin wanted to keep the heritage if wood quay and this is supposed to be a democracy. If the people didnt want it destroyed the council are supoosedd to serve the people. Not the building companies and investors! It doesnt matter if it was a heritage site or not. The council should not be giving the go ahead for buildings the people neither want nor need in favour of the companies who want to make a profit. If somerhing of value to the people of ireland is found in the ground that should be a priority above the interests of private building contractors and their profits. This was the brown emvelope era. And people like haughy made sneaky little deals with people to build things the people didnt want. Like james hospital a mad space ship in the middle of suburbia ..that could have been built cheaply and easily on green site in tallagh but they honoured a contract haughy made in the 80s to go ahead on a silt plain the most unstable mud to build on in a very traffic heavy area where ambulances wont be able to get through at 4 pm. Took 10 years to build ten before thst to geologically assess... nobody wanted it. It was protested for yesrs. But one guys comoany had a deal so they honour that over the common sense and wishes of the people. Thats not right. Even without heritiage beneath it its not right. The people are supposed to have a say in what goes on.

What matters most is how a person cares for the land they were gifted by this strange roll of the dice we call life. If they show that they are good stewards of the land, the spirit of Ireland is honoured. Mr. Ambrose Congreve, who lived close by in Waterford, gifted his entire estate to the people of Ireland. He loved the land and was a very talented gardener.
There’s also a whole Knights Templar settlement by Waterford city, surrounded by recent building projects… only their little graveyard seems to have been spared from the bulldozer.
Sinéad O’Connor’s passing really moved me.

Love the reference to Jordan Peterson and Jake immediately interjecting about how the French Revolution lead to Napoleon becoming a dictator. Careful what you wish for. Reminds me of the Woody Allen film called Bananas 🍌 where he demonstrates that you revolt against one dictator just to be replaced by another..

Brilliant podcast, great conversations! Love how Richard Sipe tells Sinead O'Connor how courageous she is th-cam.com/video/hWxz_1TPwEk/w-d-xo.html He knew all about the abuse so really understood. And how Sinead would say people are booing me for ripping up the picture of the pope, because they don't understand, if they understood they wouldn't be booing. Unreal how much reason she had. She had a lot of respect for Pope Benedict making the decision to resign.
