  • Today we replaced rear shocks in a 2013 Honda Fit. Previously I had found that the rear driver side shock was leaking fluid and was no longer functional. We quickly swapped these out with very minimal tools and time.
    Tools :
    14 MM Ratchet Wrench
14 MM socket on an impact ( if possible)
5 MM Allan/Hex Key on socket
    Jack
    Parts :
    2X KYB 348016 Excel-G Gas Shock
All in all an easy job to get done and can be done with very simple tools.

I have 2013 Honda fit so all wheels have shocks and struts?

On this vehicle Front would be struts and rear would be shocks . It does vary per vehicle though it’s not always struts on front . Some trucks are shocks front and back.

Do you have Honda Jazz or Honda Fit Hybrid? You said that the new part is KYB348016 but that comes up as Jazz not Fit, but in the beginning of the video you mention Fit. Thanks in advance for any info..

This was a regular Honda Fit specifically I think it was a 2013. The rear shocks we used were indeed the KYB 348016 which fits Rear; Base Model or DX Model or LX Model or Sport. It should fit 2009-2013 specifically.

also depending on your country (I am in the States/USA) the name of the car could be different. So it may be correct. Per google "Honda uses the "Jazz" nameplate in Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa, Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia and India; and "Fit" in Japan, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan and the Americas."

So in Ireland we have both Jazz and Fit Hybrid (Fits are direct imports from Japan). They do look bit different..I think yours is Jazz (our Jazz), judging by the lights. Still, I wonder if the parts are the same for both. Thanks!

Can I put the back on ramps?

As long as the ramps don’t get in your way I don’t see why not .
