Brian, thank you !!! It's amazing what a certain sound can bring back. The sound of your keys banging on the metal dash board brought back a flood of memories of my grandfather and my dad driving my grandfathers 1975 F250. I can still hear the keys hitting the dash and the whine of the granny first gear. I had the pleasure of driving that truck for a few years when I was younger as well, I loved that thing!!!

I know exactly what you mean about keys hitting the dash. 5 years ago I got my grandfather's 76 f250. A real highboy. As soon as I let out the clutch in granny, my keys bang the dash in a rhythm echoing the lug of the engine. Love it.
Just got my dad's 62 powerwagon and it'll have the same noise.
Kids don't know about an all metal interior or bat wing windows.

All that D-200 needs is a little tidy and some love. The best 1960's trucks by far. The work horse Poly 318's are under rated. I'll be waiting for the full restoration video series. I bought a 1970 from Riverside County Ca (factory a/c). It was cab and chassis. The 2nd. series 318 broke the crank snout at about 200,000 miles. I installed a 340 from a wrecked '73 Duster. It made the old D-200 zippy.

The guys who dislike this truck are under 30, most likely, they don't know these old rigs were built to take serious abuse. This truck isn't pretty, but I'd bet that it will haul whatever you can fit in the back of it, it's a pre-smog truck. the eco-nazis left auto manufacturers alone back when this Dodge was made; once this thing is running like it should you can shred the rear tires. you earned my subscription and likes. Gosh, so much I forgot about vehicles back when... like having the ignition of the dash, dimmer switch on the floor, the window vent to flick your cigarette ash out of, and bench seats. For what it's worth, they don't make 'em like that anymore. :)
Oh, and the emergency gas tank... I made one of those for a friend's 10-year-old 1959 Chevy, whose steel fuel line rusted through (and sucked air). I never did get my gas can back, he used it (one gallon size) until he blew the engine up and took it to a junkyard. I figure he stopped every 10 miles or so for gas...

Yes Brian. The 17.5 8 lug rims were used on request from about 1958 to 1968. They are very scarce and if you look on eBay you can find a set for about 1k bucks. So...i myself have been wanting some for my old power wagon because it allows me to run a commercial 17.5 tire which will last about triple the life if a regular 235/85/ r16. So..i would like to buy them..i certainly can't afford 1k...and I keep hoping to find an old set like you have...fir cheap...but no luck so far. Ifn you throw new tires and wheels on ole bessy...gimme a holler. Thanks for fun videos!

Hi Brian, In Australia we would call that truck a "Paddock Basher" and we would happily use it around the farm for all sorts of jobs. At least repairs would be cheap on that old girl. I was going to suggest you wash it but it would look too flash then and it would remove all its character. Leave her as she is mate.
