An eclectic choice of books, very interesting. Reading a translated book can be a tricky proposition, because you are so reliant on the skill of the translator. A lot of nuance and context can get lost with a clumsy/hamfisted translation, but such are the vagaries we find ourselves in, as consumers of these type of books. When you mention the Danish book the first person who came to mind was Kierkegaard, have you heard of him? One last thing, 3 cheers for the MVP!!! of 1436 goldsmith Johannes Gutenberg!!!!!!!! He wasn't the first but is still significant, nonetheless.
Yes! You’re so right! Very interesting to think that with a translated work you’re relying on the author to provide a great story but more so the translator to get the story across but also all of the meanings as close as possible which is so incredibly difficult! I haven’t heard of Kierkegaard! I’ll have to look him up! 🩶

How interesting! In my Swedish class we had to read a speech by Jonas Hassen Khemiri and it was so good that it made me want to read his books. Haven’t gotten to that yet as I’m still reading another Swedish book. Very slowly. Enjoy all your books!
Ooooh that’s so awesome!! I can’t wait to dive into these! 🩶
