Hi! I hope you see this comment I could really use some advice. How do you track expenses for when you go on trips you saved for or use money from your sinking funds? For example I’m going on a 3 day trip and I have saved $500 for the trip. I don’t want to then add $500 to my expense tracker because that money has already been accounted for, but I don’t know if I should completely ignore it either. Same with my sinking fund, I recently spent from my Car maintenance fund and I wrote it down in my expense tracker but my end of month expenses were off and I knew some of it was from this random $50 that was already accounted for in the savings part of my budget but also in the life category of my variable expenses from my expenses tracker. I would love any advice you can give!
Hey! So I personally don’t track my expenses during travel, but I will use cash to keep me from going over the amount I’ve saved for the trip. The same for sinking funds. I only account in my budget the amount I’m planning to put into my funds as (additional expenses or additional money I’ll be taking out from my paychecks to put in the funds that month). If you want to track your sinking funds expenses and travel expenses, you’ll need to include the total amounts, you have saved in those categories, in your monthly income or inflow. I will do a demonstration of this to show you in the March 22nd video! This is a great question!
I love that you have realistic amounts. I am looking at starting this hopefully this month. I am going through a divorce and living on my own now so this is so motivating to me. I want to be able to be financially stable
Great cash stuffing! January and February was not good for me. I did some over spending but in the end I was able to put that money right back in my account after I had track my expenses.
Hey Sis great Video I enjoy them as always. Im red in 1 category but I had more green then red & a couple of no spends. My March Goal is to have 10% of my paycheck go to two sinking fund’s for them to get 5% each which is emergency & home but it’s been hard because I’m trying to pay off my most recent medical debt of $400+dollars. ❤ 34:27
Love the video ❤❤. Hopefully, I can get situated and do an upload of me stuffing my envelopes. I agree on not saying what you already have saved in your account but how much is in the envelopes and go from there.
