I placed tiny dots of Burt Sienna oil paint using a cocktail stick, then using a flat clean brush dipped in white spirits pulled the paint in a downwards direction. I also used Paynes grey on the model.

I've been building some tanks recently. I just finished a Soviet T55 yesterday (done up in E. German markings) and an M48 Patton just before that. I only just got back from Hobby Lobby less than an hour ago with a Panzer IV.

This is before the 1943 refit, but the kit also contains some corsair aircraft which I have chosen not to put are as I fell that they are after the refit. Someone with more knowledge might be of help.
@@DividedByZeero There are also Curtiss SB2C Helldivers on the deck with the Avengers on my kit, and those are the aircraft with the rounded wingtips, there is a very slight difference in wing shape between them and the Avengers but at that scale neither is exact.
I don't think it matters, just make a cool base for it to sit in, as the model certainly deserves it. I also have the waterline Hikawa Maru Hospital ship in the same scale. It will go well alongside the Enterprise.

I thought it was rather easy to build and if it's your favourite ship, then go for it. If you have never built a model before, take your time.

I am building the uss yorktown right now and am wondering how to get a rust effect on the side

I finally finished it and i changed the aircraft wings to folded to add detail now I just need to paint it

What paint did you use?
I used all Tamiya paints on the model.
