It's quite obvious they don't want to be categorized with Wu-Tang, because Wu was something different. They represented something different and Odd Future represents something completely different. Different types of hiphop for different moods / people.
There is one thing that any artist hate : to be compared to another artist. But everybody got to recognize that Gravediggaz open the hell door for the next generation.
I wish people would stop trying to compare the uncomparable, they're such different groups and good in their own respects.

Really? Because last time I checked in 1993, 36 Chambers came out to raver reviews for its uniqueness, and flawlless rhymes and production. Yeah there were comparisons with PE, but never the criticism. I've seen OF live, they were supporting Eminem last year, and quite frankly, they were shit. I really did try to get into their music, but they just shouted rhymes to really basic music. Not impressed. Adn regardless of how good you are, you never ever disrespect the Wu. Just ask 50 Cent...
Jaysal Bhardwa Fuck reviews, that's what golden era hip hop fans from the 80's were saying in the 90's. They sound like shit live, but their sound is extremely unique, just like how Wu Tang's sound was unique at the time.

I would disagree heavily in the sense that RZA gets well deserved critical acclaim for producing raw beats that pretty much your average MC could spit over and still sound alright. But instead, you have a large collective of different personalities almost all of them with an amazing and distinct flow. They could pretty much lay down any lyrics that don't make sense and they'd still be bangers but then they go above and beyond again and lay down solid lyrics riddled with symbolism and metaphors.
