I, for one, am glad we never got Gotham High. It seems like something that would work as little shorts with Chibi versions of the characters making fun of their own mythology. Basically something similar to the DC Nation New Teen Titans shorts. I give them credit for doing a better job with both versions of Super Hero Girls, but I do not see the series sustaining itself for a full run.
You make it sound like we only had them for like a year or something. It didn't so much fail, so much as wound up being a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in an ocean. Just naturally falling behind better big box stores and drowning in competition, struggling to maintain relevance. I've seen worse failures with stores that lasted barely a couple years if anything. Kmart died of old age.

I think you should talk about temporary lost media, or lost media that can be solved by someone willing to take an extra step, such as purchasing it. One example I can think of is the lost Seinfeld episode script that is selling for $4000. The mystery can be solved if someone is willing to purchase it and leak it online. The only problem is that temporarily lost media mainly deals with lost media that be bought or found at a specific location
That Nintendo On vaguely reminds me of a PlayStation product that never existed. It is called the Pocket Alpha. It is a small portable device that plugs into the memory card slots on a Ps1 and it could play small green screen fighting games. It was similar to the VMU cards used by the Dreamcast. The only proof I have that this thing existed is from a promo for it that was on the PlayStation Underground Jampack Summer 99.
they only came out in japan, ff9 was compatible with it and had a game on it edit: ff8, its called chocobo world and the thing is called the pocketstation

How about the original script for a movie called "Batman vs. Superman" that was made years before the movie "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice"? OK, so the movie "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" started development around 2013 as a sequel to the movie "Man of Steel". This movie was released in 2016. However, in 2001, a man named Wolfgang Peterson wrote a different script for a movie called "Batman vs. Superman" that was intended to revive both film franchises following their '90s nadir.
