Excellent video Angus. There are some of these striking plants around the old Moorabbin Town Hall in Melbourne. Stunning flowers.

Just an amazing find I had today from a Australian friend of mine on another cool network. Thanks to her I was looking for a video like this which took me over an hour, but I finally found one worthy of sharing :)
You folks done an awesome job on the video editing and great way to showcase to the world what the Gymea Lily is and how to grow them as well as manage their life cycle. Loved this video curated it to a flower playlist of mine and subscribed as well.

FAB video Angus - we have these gorgeous plants in our backyard and I have wondered whether I should remove the spent flower. I'm a 'hesitant' pruner, so this was very helpful as you actually demonstrate how to prune them. Thanks again.

Great video Angus! They flower really well down here in Melbourne too but I haven't seen a gymea flower spike as tall as those in your video.

Mine, (I'm in the Mt.Lofty Ranges) took 20 years to flower! Consoled by the fact that it survived a bushfire last year. The outer leaves cooked and died but the inner ones stayed green. Now waiting for winter rains to restart recovery.

We'll do some research. We have been asking ourselves the same question recently.
