Hi Tessie, it works better in the bathtub. There was a time when finances dictated going to the laundromat was not possible. I did my laundry everyday to keep it from piling up, I never felt low income just saw it as the season I was in at that time.

A good clean large Trash can would also work…using a clean plunger….the plunger would agitate it if you move it up and down.

I never had a washing machine for the first 4 or 5 years ,so I had no choice but to wash by hand ,
I had a big sink ,so every morning 6am ,I'd fill the sink ,and do the wash ,
I used the taps to wring the bigger clothes ,
I would wrap the bedding around the taps and twist ,
Then out on the line they went ,
There is allways a way ,
And you saved money ,no electric for washer ,
      No waiting around ,
      Washed ,rinsed and hung ,

I have done home made quilts in my bath tub and used a (CLEAN UNUSED FOR NORMAL USE) plunger to agitate it. Then after a couple rinses, I let it drain in the bottom of the tub for about 4 hours before hanging it on the line.

Speaking of makeup, I can no longer use most of it. My skin has become quite sensitive, and I can't use very many products. You're right about essential oils, they can cause strong skin reactions, especially if they are not properly diluted. Natural or man-made, people can have reactions to both types of products. It just all depends on the individual. Thank you for sharing these videos!

Oh Tessie, be careful with the shampoo you made. You held up Sal Suds when you said castille soap. That isn't meant for use on the body. It's meant for cleaning only. It's different from the other Dr. Bronner's soaps. It may strip your hair and dry it out. I have to be careful to always use hand lotion after I clean with Sal Suds because it dries my hands out.

    Hey Tessie!!!
For a few years I had to do my laundry by hand, and I just want to give you a few tips that I learned. Get a laundry plunger (Amazon has them) and a 55-gallon plastic barrel with the top cut off and use it for large things like comforters, when I was done plunging it in soapy water, I would turn it on its side and let the as much of the water drain from it as possible then fill it with clean water, I would do this until the soap all came out. As for cloths I bought two 13-gallon trash cans one for soapy water and the other for rinsing, I also have a ringer, but you really don't need one just squeeze by hand. I think everyone should have a laundry plunger you never know when you'll need it. Young people now do what's called laundry stripping, when I was growing up, we just called it doing laundry in hot water. 😂 I hope this helps a little. ❤

This was fantastic, Tessie! You are extremely resourceful-the hand washing of the quilt, cooking in the sun oven, and making your own shampoo. The recipe for the shampoo sounds wonderful, and rosemary is so good for your hair. I use it in my face wash and face serum, too (along with lavender and frankincense). I love making my own health/beauty products; I know what's in them, learn a new skill, and save money. You are so right; it's important to learn about which essential oils and carrier oils are best for your skin type to avoid problems.☺

Hello Tessie, I love the shampoo recipe. My youngest daughter has celiac disease and this will be safe for her. I love it and will use the lavender oil, because we have it. Love your creativity to clean and dry your comforter. 💙💦☀💜
    Peaceful Blessings. 💕

I loved hang drying my family clothes years ago. They smelled so good. I still do some, but need to do more. Thank you again Tessie you are a true inspiration. ❤️

Hi Tessie 🥰! I just started watching your video. Of course, I will finish watching it; but I need to comment before I see you struggle w/that Bed Cover in your Commercial Sink ☺️. The Picnic Table by your side would work GREAT! Spread your Bed Cover atop of it, soak it down, use Soap/Laundry Detergent of choice & hand wash/scrub - whatever you feel it needs. Rinse & Repeat, if necessary (probably not). Hand wring dry or let the Sun & Fresh Air take care of the rest 😚😚. Back to your video.
