Such a wonderful teacher who I enjoy very much. In the most recent voice recordings, I’ve noticed that the Gurus voice seems to be sped up or altered, which affects the natural tone. It might be helpful to check the audio settings or source to ensure the teachings are presented accurately. Thank you, for continuing to post Rinpoches teachings here.
I am just starting this journey in this lifetime. I am reading/learning very fast but perhaps not progressing as fast as I am learning because I am immunocompromised and isolated (no teacher). From the Dalai Lama's Wheel of Life book and the Rice Seedling Sutra, I have a vague idea about what got me here, and I think I can see where this is going (Asura or more likely ghost realm). I am fifty years old. I have to fix this. I don't have a teacher, so the only rough plan I have now is to (1) alter the course of this so that I do not fall into lower realms; (2) attempt to be reborn into a pure land. Is that a reasonable course of action? To reduce the kleshas (mostly anger and pride that I can readily notice right now), I need to focus on developing the Six Perfections to stop generating this incredible amount of negative mental karma. I bought this book on Lamrim and plan to start practicing that now that the hurricane Helene devastation is clearing up and I am recovering from a long illness. I bought a wooden mala and began practicing mantras (mainly Medicine Buddha, Green Tara). I don't know what else to do.
@@djentleman5562 I am having a lot of difficulties doing that with am immune deficiency. I tried going to the Buddhist center in Asheville. Left name and number. I cannot really go in there for their services and events because it's a small space and covid can take my life. Also, everything basically was wiped out here this month. I am still trying, but it's not very easy to find a teacher when you are immunocompromised and can't go inside places.
Hey fellow practices. I just want to say it great that you have found the dharma at all and more so you have some strength to practice. Understand that for a good rebirth, the point of death is the most important. So don't feel like your too let. Give it your best shot for the intention is the Karma as the Buddha says. Hold that intention and where you are head will be where you where meant to
@@medic2831 I think this may not be the first time I have studied this material. I learn it very fast. I am reading Vasubandhu's texts and it's all familiar. I literally would debate these topics in college; for instance the question of whether the past and future are philosophically real has been something I have been obsessed with for many years, and yet here they are discussing the debate I would have with myself that nobody seemed to care about in academia (they just assume the past and future all inherently exist). I get through sutras fairly quickly as well, but I am making little progress with meditation because of skin illness and maybe lack of progress there. It's just familiar to me, I guess. But I have been thinking about it my whole life and not knowing it. But if that's true, I must have done some really bad things to be born here with these illnesses and issues.
